  1. Thats more condensation than oil likely the result of heating cooling cycles of the catch can.......If you engine was ingesting that it would have died long ago.
  2. GM got the rights to build the Allison 1000 Series transmission in GM factories as part of the sale of Allison away from GM. Allison has no say in what atf to use as they DO NOT build the 1000 trans for GM vehicles, GM builds it.
  3. All painting done by robots....
  4. 1 qt of oil can contaminate up to 1/4 million gallons of water or cause an oil slick 2 acres in size. So a drop of oil in the catch can mixed with condensation gives the appearance it all came from the engine.
  5. Good luck buying the ZR2. Right now Trail Boss and AT4 are hard to find and deals are no where to be found. My neighbor was looking to buy a Trail Boss and local dealer has one in transit and 3 people ahead of him for it.
  6. A word of advice on buying a used truck, especially a diesel or any vehicle that appears to no be original. A friend was telling me the horror story about a used private owner Silverado diesel his son purchased not long ago. He a carpenter and found a used 2019 K2500 for sale and purchased it from the owner. I guess he was having some issues and since it was still under warranty, he took it the Chevy dealer only to find out the warranty is blocked for ECM tampering. Found that out when he took truck to Chevy dealer for some minor repair under warranty.
  7. My relatives company has a new GMC HD work van on order as they can't find a new one anywhere so they tried to rent a HD van in the meantime and all the rental companies say the, UPS, Fedex etc has rented them all and they have nothing.
  8. GM has a dealer loaner program. Its similar to 'Demo" car program and a new cars with low miles. Local dealer here has small Buick and GMC suvs for loaners. They put their website (big decal) in the back window so you know it, neighbor has one for a week...
  9. Here is one sitting at dealer not far from me......https://www.marquettebuickgmc.com/VehicleDetails/new-2021-GMC-Sierra_2500HD-Crew_Cab_Standard_Box_4_Wheel_Drive_Denali-MARQUETTE-MI/5139190270
  10. Keeps the tow trucks in business. LOL
  11. Given the best snow tires, 4 wheel drive and yet some still can't drive in the snow. They assume because the got 4wd/AWD they are invincible and nothing came stop them for going where they want to go. I recall one day last winter it was snowing heavy, roads covered with snow and moderate traffic. There were about 5 vehicles in front of me and one behind when I see this 4wd Ram passing us, speed limit 55 was to slow for him I guess. He got past me and the back end starts to drift out on him. I just made it past him as he was losing control and went down a 1/4 slope in the ditch back wards mowing down some small tree's on the way. About 30 min later I was coming back along the same route and saw flashing lights. Wrecker and State Police were on the scene and driver (young guy) was in the back seat the Tahoe cruiser.
  12. I have the Alenza 22's on my Sierra Denali and did not have any problems getting around last winter up here is Michigan near Lake Superior where we average over 200 inches of snow annually. Not the best but I did not want to spend a $1000+ buying different tires. I use AUTO 4-wheel almost all the time unless road are clear and dry which maybe 25% of the time. But I rarely need 4wd to get around.
  13. Does not affect the Flint HD plant "GM said its Arlington Assembly in Texas, where it makes its highly profitable full-size SUVs, will run regular production next week, along with Flint Assembly, where it makes its heavy-duty pickups, Bowling Green Assembly in Kentucky, where it makes its Corvette, and a portion of Lansing Grand River Assembly, where it will make some Chevrolet Camaro and Cadillac Blackwing cars."
  14. The battery makes me think that somehow the problem is related to it. Did you install the battery? Maybe you inadvertently did something when doing so. You also could have a battery cable problem. Even though they may appear in good condition there may be hidden corrosion inside. There have been reports of persons having weird starting issues related to bad cables, their might even be a service bulletin on that?
  15. There is none to be had. Laura has a Yukon XL AT4 for sticker price.

  17. On my 2017 the Chevy dealer in another town (now out of business*) used 18 qts to flush my 2017 8sp. Gave them 2 cases of qts, there were 6 left. *All the GM dealer within 100 miles of me been gobbled up by mega dealer who ran them out of business with large inventory and lower prices. Where we once has 4 independently owned GM dealers, now 1 big corp owner. The mega has 9 dealerships in Minn, Wis and Michigan, 6 are GM.
  18. I have been inquiring about R & R the ATF (with AMSOIL) in my 2021 Denali. Local trans shop want's nothing to do with the job and said it pita. They also mentioned you have to plug some oem style tech hardware to monitor the fluid temp because that is what determines if the fluid is filled to the required capacity. Too cold, you end up adding to much ATF and it will be overfull at operating temp. Local GM dealer will not do it with customer supplied fluid, shop policy they don't install customer supplier parts etc.
  19. My experience with several over the years is that its mostly all POI's (points of interest) which are such things as new motels, rests, gas stations etc. The first car I had with Nav was a 2009 Cadillac and I found a road name error on it. They same error is still there on my 2021 even though I made an attempt back in 2009ish to advise them of the error. So unless you are traveling a lot and motels, rest and places to spend money are of interest, its a waste of $ and time for the upgrade.
  20. Yet the prevailing opinion of most is "oil is oil" and the cheapest oil just meeting the spec is perfectly fine. While GM dexos specifications play an important role in setting minimum standards, it also encourages producers to to go no farther than meeting those minimums. Few oil companies are willing to spend more time and money to create higher levels of protection when all the have to do it meet the minimum standard. The big box store brand (on sale) might meet the minimum standards for the listed application but no one really knows where on the continuum of performance the product really lies beyond the minimum standard. Setting standards for used oil is a step in the right direction and the oem' are starting to realize that. It's kind of like the old saying about what do you call the person who graduated last in their class from medical school, a Doctor right?
  21. Seen article in Lubes & Greases where automakers are saying that API SN-Plus and SP oils might deal with LSPI when new but they are wanting new testing parameters to test oil when it is aging from use to see if that protection holds up. Here's a qoute from the article: "The letter said that published studies have documented that the potential for damage from low-speed pre-ignition increases as the engine oil ages. He explained that the Sequence IX test for low-speed pre-ignition performance is a fresh oil test, which means that API SN Plus and SP do not confirm that the protection is retained as the oil ages in the field." https://www.lubesngreases.com/lubereport-americas/4_35/automakers-request-supplement-to-sp/
  22. Sounds like maybe they delegated the job to someone less experienced such as a detail person to install trim. A job like that is below a tech (in their minds) to do. I know when I got my 2021 I had the GMC accessory Tonneau cover installed and they had the new car prep/detail person install it and I had to come and make them do it right. Hopefully you will get a customer satisfaction survey.
  23. You would not want that feature if you live in a winter climate as the could freeze in either position and not be able to use the mirrors.
