  1. No mobile detailers here. Only places are the Ziebart and they don't offer ceramic. This is a rural area, small towns. Like I said closest large city is Green Bay or Duluth, both about 225 miles distance. Even if that were possible, I still cannot do the work myself for heath reasons (shoulder Injury).
  2. That's just fine if you can do the work yourself but I cannot and no one around here does ceramic. I would have to travel couple hundred miles to Green Bay to find a place so its not worth it to me.
  3. I am in a rust belt state (Mich) so spending big bucks or energy applying ceramic coating is not cost effective as it would probably need be redone every spring so Ziebart is my preferred treatment because after the initial application I can get my vehicle detailed and the gloss reapplied every spring for only $99 ($149 if I want the interior done). I don't have the ambition to waste time doing it myself. Ceramic IMO is the new 'nitrogen air in the tires' fad..
  4. Be advised the 2022 LTD models that are available are carry over 2021 models and NOT the new design. So it will look exactly like a 2021, no new interior.
  5. I had Ziebart Diamond Gloss done to mine (Black). 9 months later it still looks like the day it was done. Every year they will detail the truck and reapply for $99.
  6. Whereas genuine OEM oils are certainly considered quality they are pushed on the dealers. The benefits to the OEM dealer in pushing OEM lubes is significant. It can increase discounts on other hard parts. It can also have negative consequences if they don't participate. . OEM’s and who they are aligned with; Toyota & GM – ExxonMobil
  7. No. The 22 is a carry over from the 19-21 called the Limited (LTD). New design 2022 won't be available until sometime spring of 2022. So no ordering info for those are out yet. So if you order a 2022 1500 is will look just like a 2021. Here's a window stock for one https://www.keweenawcars.com/VehicleDetails/new-2022-Chevrolet-Silverado_1500_LTD-Crew_Cab_Short_Box_4_Wheel_Drive_LT_1LT-HOUGHTON-MI/5181067690
  8. If you use the cooler line that will drain all fluid including the TC, its all in one loop. !2 qts is tight. The GM dealer used 16 to R & R all the fluid in my 2017 8-sp. IMO its not a diy job on the 8sp, to many nuances to pay attention to,
  9. I bought a few GM accessories from the online site and each was shipped from a dealer, not GM parts. If I did not specify a dealer they chose one for me. Never knew where from until package arrived with their name on the invoice. That was for my 2017. Also, sometimes those tracking sites are wrong. I was shipped 2 pkg last week by US Priority Mail. They arrived today, 5 days later. But when I use the tracking info on the USPS site it shows they have not yet been received by the US Mail, says a label has been created but the US mail has not yet received the pkg.
  10. Mine has not used any in 11,000+ miles.... Carbon buildup on pistons can cause the piston rings to stick in their grooves. Stuck rings can fail to seal the combustion chamber, leading to oil consumption and low compression, negatively affecting engine performance. Here is an example of a carboned up piston..
  11. They did that reservation game back when they introduced the new Camaro and as I recall people were driving them whilst those who reserved them were waiting months longer. Note the disclaimer.
  12. There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse cannot make a little cheaper and the people who consider price only, are this man's lawful prey. John Ruskin 1819-1900
  13. I have done the opposite for over 30 yrs. Never changed my oil (except for a new vehicle first change) before 15,000 miles or 1 yr of service. Used to go 25,000 miles but since I retired I don't travel as much. Always used the best oil AMSOIL made and their oil filters. My current vehicle, a 2021 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate has 11,000 miles and got changed over to AMSOIL around 4,000+-. Next oil change will be 20,000 miles. Not one in over 30 yrs have I had an engine, trans or axle problem running AMSOIL. Others can bad mouth it all the want but it won't bother me because I know they are wasting their money with other products and too frequent oil changes. I estimate I have save well over $1,000 since first using it in 1978. AMSOIL did not last 50 yrs making claims they could not back up.
  14. I have an acquaintance who has the L4 Turbo in his work truck being a 2021 CC 4wd Silverado Custom. He says its a good truck, does everything his last truck did with a V8.
  15. This are oem fog lights or aftermarket? Seems like they (or the switch) are drawing to much amperage and like a breaker in an electrical panel, tripping and won't work again till it cools down. Probably using more power then the wiring is designed to handle??
  16. PS - They are taking reservations for the Ultimate.......and only a select dealers At participating dealers. Reservation does not guarantee delivery within a certain period of time. https://www.gmc.com/future-vehicles/2022-sierra?evar36=MRM_eml_2022_GMC_SierraMCMReveal_T3_adhoc_1021_17511067922#denaliultimate
  17. Some FAQ's I saved....... XL is OE with extended drain technology (12,000 miles or 1 yr) added. That's the difference. OE oils can be used exactly as specified by the owners manual or oil monitoring system.
  18. Super Cruise – will be available on the New 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali and Denali Ultimate models† as well as HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV models† - which is the first true hands-free driver-assistance technology for compatible roads. Super Cruise utilizes advanced technologies to provide the ease and convenience of hands-free driving. Thanks to Lane Change on Demand and Automatic Lane Change†, even changing lanes† is hands-free. It’s safe to say your commutes will never be the same. https://www.gmc.com/future-vehicles/2022-sierra?evar36=MRM_eml_2022_GMC_SierraMCMReveal_T3_adhoc_1021_17511067922
  19. And Castrol is a British company, AMSOIL is American owned (Wis based) company since 1972. Support American owned products.
  20. AMSOIL is driven by quality. AMSOIL introduced synthetic motor oils in 1972. A board of directors, heavy bureaucracy, and industry constraints bind large oil companies. Their primary goal is to maximize shareholder profits which conflicts with the idea of bringing the highest quality product to market. Only AMSOIL is willing to make the investment necessary to provide the highest quality lubricants to the market. You bought a certain vehicle because you wanted the best, so why search out the cheapest oil, when you can have the best? Disclosure: I been using AMSOIL for better than 30+ yrs. Never been disappointed with their products.....
  21. I had a similar problem with a 2015 GMC and it was the antenna. Water was getting past the seal and shorting out the antenna. There was a service bulletin to replace the shark fin antenna, its was not repairable. Mine would show me miles off track. Don't know if this applies to your year....
  22. The GM bean counters source the ATF from the lowest bid supplier and that supplier used a base stock that met the specification. There's always a drawback to low bid suppliers as the are going to use what meets the spec and no more. Base stocks and additives for any particular spec have many choices from just meeting spec to exceeding it. If you only need to meet the minimum, why use anything more if it costs you more money. Good enough mentality. Like in the home construction business, they call it "builder quality" which means, the cheapest you can buy. After the warranty is over, its your problem not theirs.
  23. They (the oem's) do NOT want you to be able to do any work yourself. To keep their dealer Service Departments going! You know that a dealer makes more from Parts and Service than they do selling the actual cars, right? Read up the the 'right to repair' initiatives.
  24. And they often take many years to settle, 10 yrs+-. I got a notice last year, as I recall, about a settlement in a class action lawsuit involving some expensive (at the time) electronic item that is today obsolete. The lawyers and courts got millions and every registered owner got a $50 discount on a current product. Worthless, process to claim the discount was not worth your time if if there was a product you wanted to buy.
  25. No, they claim they do not make special fluids for racers, its the same fluid they sell to anyone. What so hard to believe that certain lubes perform better than others.
