  1. May not be possible to add them because the wire harness and programming is not available.
  2. Friend does the dealer ordering This is what he gave me for 2022 (dates are fluid, subject to change or delays so dates are as of this past Weds)) 2500HD 1st order cycle is scheduled for 8/12 allocation, production start 7/12/21 1500LD 1st order cycle is scheduled for 8/12 w/allocation, production start 9/20/21
  3. As was splained to me by a expert.
  4. They get the oil in bulk from GM approved low bid vendors, It come in a truck and they pump it into a tank. Around this area you will see Halron trucks at the dealers. Even the Furd and Rum dealers. Its the lowest price oil that meets the spec, the dealer is not going to buy expensive oil is there is a cheaper one that meets spec. The dealer could care less what brand it is. The part number is generic to them, its what ever they put in there, no matter the brand. If you want a special brand then you need to supply it.
  5. It’s common to assume that black motor oil has worn out or become too saturated with contaminants to protect your engine and requires changing. Not necessarily. Discoloration is a natural byproduct of heat and soot particles, which are too small to wear out your engine. Since soot particles are less than one micron in size, they typically don’t cause engine wear. For comparison, a human hair is roughly 70 microns in diameter. If soot particles agglomerate into larger wear-causing contaminants, the oil filter will catch them. Sometimes people who use bypass filtration systems, which can filter contaminants down to two microns, express surprise that the motor oil is still black. Soot, however, can still elude filtration down to two microns. Any finer filtration and the filter could catch dissolved additives in the motor oil.
  6. An important fact omitted from 1st post......
  7. Not Magnetic Ride Control Adaptive Ride Control (GM RPO code Z45) is not just another name for GM’s incredible Magnetic Ride Control, since ARC does not use magnetic dampers/magneto-rheological fluid. Instead, it uses different (and perhaps less sophisticated) active dampers. Magneride is rpo Z95
  8. 2019+ trucks do not have Magneride.
  9. fyi June 2021 GM said it is increasing production of the Chevrolet Silverado heavy-duty and GMC Sierra heavy-duty full-size pickups at Flint Assembly by about 1,000 pickups per month beginning in mid-July. While GM is able to increase vehicle shipments to dealers, this will not mean a return to normal levels of inventory. Flint Assembly is running three shifts a day, six days a week and working one shift on two Sundays out of the month to meet demand for the heavy-duty pickups, said Eric Welter, shop chairman for UAW Local 598, which represents hourly workers at the plant. At Flint, about 1,050 pickups are built each day, an extra 700 are built during the two Sundays a month.
  10. There are shipping delays nationwide, both rail and trucking due to the pandemic and severe weather early this spring in some pars of the country. I understand many don't believe that but its true. Friend works for large building supply and orders for materials that normally would be a week to 2 weeks are 8 weeks++ and many items are in short supply and they don't know when they will get them. Friend works at the Flint HD plant (trades) and he says competed trucks sitting in various areas waiting on transportation, 1,000's of HD's.
  11. Silverado HD Cab configurations 2022 Order Banks Open 8/12/2021 (Allocation) Supposedly is 3 months order to delivery based on allocation. No allocation = Unknown Time Frame
  12. Well if everything was fine before then its the wheels or the workmanship of the installers.
  13. Free oil changes could end up costing you thousands. Frequency of oil changes is the key to success in pushing related products and services for the GM dealer. A few free oil changes can go a long way toward increasing the amount of money a customer will spend at the dealer during the ownership of the vehicle. In other words, you’re being played.
  14. If you used any ignition parts besides genuine GM/AC Delco parts that may be the problem. So many parts are sourced from the far east and are terrible quality (cheap components) no matter what the brand name on the box is. I have a friend in the repair business who will not use anything but oem ignition parts. Way to may failures with the cheap parts that its bad for business.
  15. GM claims the problems with the 8-sp transmission do not fall under the factory warranty, as it is a design defect and not a manufacturing defect.
  16. I have the REV on my truck, purchase with the truck and they said its covered under 3 yr/36 month warranty. Dealer installed Jan of this year. I had to take it back and make them line it up better as there was a gap at the t-gate but since then, No problems. Would buy it again. I have gone through the touchless car wash about a dozen time and the amount of water that gets in small. NONE are water tight., especially the t-gate area.
  17. If this carries over into the 2022 model year I may look to trade my 2021 in just to get rid of S/S. Since AutoStop is such as great feature I assume my truck will be worth a premium on trade. LOL
  18. Mine was built last Sept. I hate it, always disable it on every start because the few times I did not disable it when it was new, it jerked with it came back on and that seemed to me to be hard on the engine.
  19. At the end of the day, the type of base stock used to formulate the oil is inconsequential; the product’s performance is what matters. While you need a great base oil to produce a great product, if you don't follow up with the proper additives and formulations, your great base oil produces an "average" finished product.
  20. I just went and looked at mine , 2021 Sierra Denali Crew 6.2L/10-sp. Average 21.4, best 29.7. 5,720 miles. I drive the speed limits, don't hot-rod and mostly semi-rural 2-lane blacktop around here, no freeways etc. If you are getting bad mileage its more then likely your driving style. Note - I always turn off start/stop, hate that feature and believe is got to hurt the engine (bent pushrods?) over the long run as mine often jerks hard (IMO) when it comes back on.
  21. Friend is an over the road truck driver working out of Texas and he tells me truck drivers are in big demand. Younger people are not wanting to drive truck. He said the company is paying big money to recruit drivers and offering bonuses to sign on. Not as many talkers as they need. He is working all he allowed to drive, he drives for national retailer. As I am typing this I get this email from GMC dealerl "Dear Michael, Please read online about the rubber and global chip shortage. It has caused prices to increase in both new and used vehicle values. This means that if you are going to purchase you should purchase soon, even if it is not from us. Some other manufactures were hit with this production problem way before us. For now, we estimate that we should have vehicles for at least few more weeks. Most Trade values have increased dramatically due to this market. We are just trying to inform people before it’s too late. Have a great rest of your week and stay safe."
  22. Acquaintance works for GM (trades in Flint) and he says the biggest problem right now is lack of available transportation fueled by delays nationwide. Here is what he said; "The HD's are just as bad around Flint, but they are complete. Stored at former plants that are now gated flat lots. Just a shortage of methods to ship."
  23. I had a 2017 Denali with the power steps and drove it through 4 winters in salty Michigan and never had a problem and I used them daily. Each to his own but I prefer the Denali for the power steps. AT4 is nice but not something I could live with. I am on Denali no.4, 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2021.
  24. Does not work that way. 2021 orders - do not change to 2022... It will need a new order created.
  25. If you ordered a 2021 it won't get built as a 2022 as the orders do not convert over. It would be cancelled (by GM) and have to be reordered as a 2022. But that said, they will be built 2021 through Sept 2021.
