1. The is the most expensive one I found.....$60,125 https://www.marquettebuickgmc.com/VehicleDetails/new-2021-GMC-Sierra_1500-Crew_Cab_Short_Box_4_Wheel_Drive_AT4-Marquette-MI/5079548400
2. Local dealer got a truck load of new GMC/Sliverao last week, they had none before this. I happened to come out of Tractor Supply which is next to Chevy/GMC dealer and truck was pulling up so we sat and had a soft drink and watched the driver unload the whole truck there. 2 were ATV4 and 2 were Trail Boss's. Rest were entry level I4's per their web site, all CC's. Their lot is only 1/2 full of new vehicles, lots of empty space. Another dealer 100 miles away is also suddenly flush with new trucks after only have 1 or 2 Sierra for weeks (reg and dbl cab). I count 16 this am. Its like the flood gates opened. I looked at one AT4 that was black and noticed some options went up. For instance, Onyx Black Paint is now $495 option whereas is was only a $195 option on my Sierra I purchased back in Dec (built Sept).
3. Dealers are independent business's and participation in GM programs is optional. They are not required to honor GM discounts. If you drill down the fine print you will always find this; "At participating dealers only"
4. I have the GMC version and what can go wrong? Its operates as a normal t-gate if you never want to use the features. Have a friend who drove 400 miles to get a Trail Boss that had it.
5. The factory brake controller CANNOT be added to the vehicle. Its NOT designed to be an add-on. You have to use an accessory brake controller because the vehicle lacks the other components it needs to work.
6. There is no uniformity on when dealer websites get updated with new incoming vehicles. The dealer buy a website pkg from a GM provider and they determine when its get listed on their site. Its all depends on what website pkg the dealer purchased but many don't update till the vehicle is in transit from the Distribution Center and not actually from the Assembly Plant.
7. Get used to it, this is the new norm with vehicles. They are designing for fuel economy and emissions and the computers are driving the vehicle. Don't think for minute GM is the only one, they all have the issues. I have a friend long time RAM owner since the 80's and he is have all kinds of issues (he says) the dealers can't and won't fix because to them its not a problem but the way its designed. He looking at trading the 18 for a Furd.
8. 0W-20 engine oil can reduce the startup load by making it easier to turn over a cold engine and the impact is felt at higher temperatures than most consumers would think, not simply to what feels cold to humans - warm summers days are cold to an parked engine. Also these newer engines operate at peak efficiency with the oem recommended viscosity.
9. Maybe you just need to get used to the nuances of newer vehicles. What you perceive as a problem maybe normal operation as designed. People always look for something to complain about, drive it and stop nitpicking, you have a 3 yr bumper to bumper warranty.
10. Question: If 0W20 oil is recommended for my vehicle’s engine, do I have to use it? Answer: Yes. Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 pickup trucks, were designed, engineered, validated and EPA certified using 0W20 oil. This is the ONLY oil approved for these engines.
11. It cost money for them to hire employees to run a shipping dept so in addition to the actual cost of shipping, they have to pay them so that is figured into their shipping rates. But as mentioned above, shipping rates from dimensional weight. A package over certain size automatically jumps to the 25lb weigh + actual weight. So a set of floor mats would be oversize and subject to dimensional weight rates.
12. Only 1 other beside me, my brother on his 2017.
13. Buy utility company stock..................you can bet all those pushing electric are.
14. I have a 2021 6.2L Sierra Denali (new 12/07/20). I wonder if the start/stop has anything to do with engine problems. I usually turn if off every time I start the truck. But on a few occasions its slipped my mind and when start/stop occurs, the engine jerks when it comes back on. So bad at times a passenger even commented, what was that? She felt the jerk from the passenger seat.
15. Correct. They engines are all the same, its just the afm/dfm is not active.
16. GM released new gear oil specifications for the late 2020 and 2021 model year pickups that now call for DEXRON Low Viscosity 75W-85 gear oil (GM part #19365814) and GM Synthetic Gear Oil (part #19300457 meeting GM Spec. 9986375).
17. fyi......................
18. "Is the supplier invoice price the price that the dealer pays? Is this an honest statement made by the dealer?" No, the supplier price is a fixed invoice amount depending on the exact vehicle configuration. There is dealer GM (GMS) employee price, Dealer Invoice and Supplier. Supplier is more then invoice and employee is less than invoice. BUT the real price the dealer pays will never be known because of rebates (holdback) and incentives the dealer earns, which will vary by dealer. Supplier and Employee prices, the dealer CANNOT bargain, GM has fixed those prices on the vehicle invoice and the dealer cannot vary from them. But they can add dealer fee's etc that state laws will allow. So if the state says a dealer can charge a $500 doc fee, then the most likely will.
19. You have to live with it.......
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, alleges GM's eight-speed automatic transmissions may shift violently into gear. ... GM claims the problems with the transmission do not fall under the factory warranty, as it is a design defect and not a manufacturing defect.
20. Thats the new branding, check out the AC Delco site for more info https://www.acdelco.com/brand-details
21. It does on 2021 models............. May 17, 2021 The Chevrolet Performance, GMC and Cadillac Cold Air Intake System (RPO 5W7, RVK) available on 2021 Camaro, Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Sierra, Yukon and Escalade models equipped with the 5.3L V8 engine (RPO L84), 6.2L V8 engine (RPO L87) or 6.2L V8 engine (RPO LT1) should only be installed on vehicles that were ordered with the RPO/LPO (dealer installed) option. (Fig. 17) The Cold Air Intake System requires a calibration from the Techline Customer Support Center (TCSC), which is not available for vehicles without the proper RPO/LPO 5W7 or RVK option. The Cold Air Intake System is a Limited Production Option (LPO) that can be ordered with the vehicle at the time of purchase. It is not to be installed or sold as an Accessory Catalog Offering (ACO), or over-the-counter accessory, as the calibration is not available for ACO applications. If installed on an incorrect vehicle, the Check Engine MIL may illuminate and DTCs P0172 (Fuel Trim System Rich) and P0175 (Fuel Trim System Rich Bank 2) may set.
22. I know a lady who works in CS at WM and same thing, they will accept anything return. She told she had a customer once who returned some seedless grapes he bought days before because the tasted bad. She refunded his money no ? asked, a whopping $2.50.

24. NO, its BS. I checked with a friend who knows and he says, yes needs allocation. Process is same as every other vehicle. No preference for employee orders, only on delivered price.
25. It could me it never will be picked up if the dealer is asking for more trucks then they are allocated. Its not unusual for dealers to have 50 on order but only 2 allocations a month which means never. GM does not care if the vehicle is a sold order, dealers has to have the allocation or its never going to be built.
