Hypertech And K&n Cai

Well I Picked up a Hypertech Max Energy Tuner and a K&N 77 Series CAI.

 

Say what you will about your custom tunes etc.

 

I purchased the tuner for the ability to control my tire size, gear ratio, and shift points. The power tune was just an added bonus. I was impressed with the performance. I Added the CAI and was even more impressed with the power.

 

What really impressed me was with my 33" tires I used to average 12 mpg, Now I average 18.7 mpg, performance and improved gas milage what more could I ask for?

 

The real sweet part is that with my stock tires I only got 17.1 mpg so I get better milage with my 33's then I do with stock.

 

I'm not posting this to hear about how I should get a custom tune etc. I just want to let you all know how this combination works for me.

wow you gained 6.7 MPG with a intake and a hand held programmer..

 

 

but you may not have been really getting 12mpg either since the tires were a different size and it couldn't calibrate it right.

I agree with Riggs on this one the tires could have been giving you less miles and caused worse gas mileage because of them

Have to agree. Does anyone ever calculate their MPG with math anymore??? A person recently told me he was getting high 20's with his, thats what his dic was telling him , I think his dic was broken.
