  1. So I know this has been addressed and gone over a million times but I think my problem is a little different than standard Chevy shake and I hope someone can piont me in a good direction. I bought new a crew short 2017 2500hd duramax. For first 5000 miles it was nice and smooth. Thereafter it began to shake at times in the steering wheel on the highway. I performed a rotate and balance and it seemed better but was still there. Then I personally road forced the tires myself into spec with no change. It seemed intermittent like time and temperature affected it. So after a ton of reading I decided to ditch the stock Goodyears and replaced them with bfgoodrich ko2s. Road forced of course. Highway issue gone. But Now I noticed if I let the truck sit for a week or so then at 30 to 40 mph up I get a pretty serious shake from steering wheel for first 20 minutes or so of driving it gets a lot better but doesn't goes away. I'm not sure what else to do. Going to dealer is not an option. Unfortunately they usually make matters worse. I'll spend the money for the parts if there will be a resolution. I'm pointing toward wheel bearings or even CV axles. I did read a guy with serious shake issue on a 1500 swapped front bearings for cheap autozone ones and it solved his problem. Anyone got any ideas I would appreciate the help. Thank you
  2. I have to say L5P is asleep and thirsty out of the showroom but so was my LMM.The more I drive it the better it gets. At 300 miles now and getting 14 mpg aroung town average. Haven't pushed it yet at all.
  3. Yes new oil burner. Not sure what you mean 2.0.....
  4. Hello all just an overdue update. For those who don't remember me or my story had an 2016 sierra with 6.2 8 speed with a ton of trans issues. I was granted trade in assistance from gm. I ordered a 2017 sierra with 6.2 and 8 speed to replace current one. Took couple months to build and was damaged during transport to dealer. I took that as the final sign and decided to go with the 2500hd. I placed another order for a 2017 Denali HD Duramax. I took delivery this past Sunday and it is amazing. I do miss my cadillac ride of the 1500 and the corvette engine but nothing compares to a diesel. It is significantly more heavy duty than my 2008 duramax and more refined. I did cough up another 10 grand but the difference in resale/trade in value makes up for it. At least that's what I'm telling myself and wife. Ha. I wish I could have both trucks. They both are sweet and have thier place. Guess I'll try another 1500 series truck in 10 years or so. Gm makes it hard to hang on to these trucks when they keep making them more beautiful and capable every year

  6. .... ahhh shit!...this new truck gives me any trouble the D or the F word will be coming out of my mouth in more ways than one. Maybe it's true. Gm really did give up on the 8 speed in favor of new 10 speed.
  7. glad to see they used 12 quarts of fluid. When they did mine they only used 3.
  8. The fuel mileage really is amazing with these trucks. Played a big part in making me get another one instead of the diesel.
  9. Too bad. I was hoping I was wrong and you were right and maybe they raised the gvw
  10. may I ask where you got the gvw 7,900 rating from?
  11. Gees it sounds like I shouldn't waste another drop off gas until I get this tune?
  12. They said 4 to 6 weeks but I'm not in a rush. Still have my clunking 16 to drive for the mean time . I would rather it get salted this winter than new one. They did also say they would expedite the build to move things along. Either way got my fingers crossed with another 8 speed.
