  2. Wife had her hip replacement today. Went pretty good. This outpatient stuff is mind blowing. Like assembly line medicine.

  3. You good sir, are incorrectly assuming it is I that neglected the maintenance on this vehicle. This vehicle is new to me, barely more than a month new to me at this point. Update on my ticking, it is official now that it is in fact cylinder #1 that is ticking. I changed the oil straight away with premium 5w30 full synthetic with the GM recommended PF63 AC Delco filter. Whomever previously changed the oil, put a crazy generic universal filter on it :-/. So, currently, it is just a ticking. I do not have a Service Engine throwing misfire codes. It seems to run just fine. I guess all I can do really is keep on the oil changes at 3k intervals with a touch of Marvels Mystery Oil every change and hope for the best?

  4. Less crap the better, I only buy lower trims because I don't want cool seats, sun roofs, etc. I work on my own trucks and want them to stay working. Brake sensors are so silly.

  5. Year, make, model, engine, drivetrain, mileage, etc? It's an interesting combination of codes though. P2101 throttle actuator control motor circuit, range/performance P0152 O2 sensor circuit high voltage, bank 2 sensor 1 P0300 detected random or multiple cylinder misfires P2099 post catalyst fuel trim system on bank 2 is reading as too rich P0174 lean condition on Bank 2 Based on the total collection of codes, I would inspect the Bank 2 (passenger side), sensor 1 (pre-cat) O2 sensor, and wiring. It seems the sensor is messing up and producing abnormal readings (P0152, P2099, P0174), leading to possible miss fires (P0300).

  6. I hear you! A good All Terrain (AT) tire works best for most people, Michelin makes an AT tire, but it's pretty mellow. That is why I switched to the Cooper AT3 LTX tires. I did have one fail in the middle of nowhere Montana, but it was from the first run of the tire and carrying a heavy load in 96-degree weather. Photo of tire still holding air.....

  7. The problem I have with Michelin is that they suck in most conditions off-road. And can share one story where I was running them pulled off to read a map, yes, I am that old, and the tires would not move my truck even in 4 wheel drive. This was in the winter, and it was cold as hell while winching the truck back onto the road. I said to myself that day I will never run pure street tires on my truck again.

  9. Thank you for that information. I think that is the best approach. I am going to search on ebay for a harness because I don't have many junk yards in my area.

  10. Need to carefully examine the wiring on bank 1, drivers side, you might have damaged something, knocked something loose, etc. Specifically, look at/follow wires for the cylinder 1 coil and cylinder 5 fuel injector. Maybe the harness got pinched or crushed during the oil pressure sensor replacement, or by the tool. Its tricky to get back there and see what you're doing. Possible rodent damage too.

  11. We found when my father in law passed that putting pay on death on checking and saving accounts makes the process much quicker. Especially paying bills. And of course a proper will.

  12. Two months have passed since my knee replacement surgery! Recovery hasn't been pleasant but progress is being made. It speaks to the impact of this surgery when putting on both of my socks by myself after eight weeks is celebrated!

  13. 1.) I'm saying Valvoline made a product to cure a real problem that works. I'm saying there are niche oils that will absolutely prevent it. So yea, hot and cold struck rings are an issue now and always has been; and how do I know that for sure? API has a test sequence for it and allows it. (ASTM D8256) Been testing for decades . New oils have to pass at zero in the test sequence which has zero relevance to your "Real World" https://www.swri.org/sites/default/files/sequence-vh-test.pdf 2.) No, and yet two decades ago no one was using low tension DLH coated rings either. No 207F thermostats. We weren't sticking 2.7 liter motor making 310 SAE NET hp in full sized trucks. We didn't run them hot as the center of the sun. 207 F thermostats and minimal oil and water circulation. We didn't run 0W20 oil in 4 to 7 liter V8's. 2. b.) That valve train shot is cleaner than new. You missed that and those seals are like new as well. Show me yours at that milage. This motor uses the same ring type and cylinder prep as the Ecotec3 and has the same TSB for "STUCK RINGS THAT CAUSE OIL CONSUMPTION. This one uses none at this milage and that sir is RARE. Look, you do what you want. I don't buy or maintain your stuff.
