  1. Couldn't find it either.
  2. Mine came with Continental Crosscontact LX20 tires. No vibration, but they did "flat spot" in the cold if the truck sat for a while. I have always liked the Michelin LTX M/S 2, so I changed them. Smooth and quiet. I love 'em. These are a touring type vs AT, just as the Continentals.
  3. When I first got my truck, the front parking assist wire was not connected properly which made it look like it was working but beeped every time I stopped and I could not configure the backup camera properly. But mine said, Parking Assist not available - basically, weird errors although it appeared to be working. Driver Assist System seems to indicate the Land Departure Warning is having an issue (OM says Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning are "Assistance Systems for Driving"). I would check for loose wires, like you said. I remember someone had weird errors, so they disconnected their battery for a few minutes which cleared up the issue until they took it in. The error stayed in the truck, so their dealer fixed it...I can't find it but I think it had to do with the LDW camera?
  4. I've had two Bakflips (a VP on my 2014 and a F1 on my 2011) on my trucks. I like both of them and had to talk with customer service a couple of times and they solved my issues which were minor. As long as you buy from an authorized dealer, they should support you (although I have heard some had issues). Not sure how they do with serious issues, but I have been taken care of. Here's the VP on my 2014
  5. Guys, one thing to remember in all of these forums...there are a lot of us who are not having any issues with our GM trucks - we tend to post issues and not that things are great. I've had the recalls, of course, but only a minor front parking assist issue and it was fixed in 10 minutes. There was a software update to the radio that I took advantage of and had the knob illuminating rings fixed on the HVAC and Radio controls. None of these were major issues. I had no vibration issues from 0-90 (we have 80 MPH roads in Texas and it is so smooth and quiet that it is easy to do 90). In fact, there is a speed alarm that I set at 90 to remind me. I don't want to get into a GM or Ford bashing contest either. But last week someone asked about a class action suit, recall or Lemmon Law settlement for vibration. I found some suits described on LemmonLaw.com and yes, there is a Ford Truck thread about extreme vibration in their trucks for several years. http://www.lemonlaw.com/wordpress/
  6. PI1127: Information on Elimination of Vehicle Nameplate Badges - (Dec 5, 2013) Subject: Information on Elimination of Vehicle Nameplate Badges Models: 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (Texas Edition - RPO TUF and High Country Edition - RPO GAJ only) 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 (All Terrain Edition - RPO GATonly) Condition/Concern Some customers or dealers may comment that the “Silverado” or “Sierra”
nameplate badge is missing from the side doors of the vehicles on the Texas,
High Country and All Terrain Editions. Recently a change was made for the Texas/High Country (Chevrolet) and All
Terrain Edition (GMC) trucks that removed the Silverado/Sierra nameplate badges
from the side doors. The change was intended to give a cleaner, less congested
branding appearance and was communicated through a Marketing Administrative
message. Plant Change Dates Fort Wayne Built Trucks (VIN Z) – After VIN EZ163318 on October 3, 2013 Silao Mexico (VIN G) – After EG258922 on October 7, 2013 Now back to topic...
  7. Yes, you have a newer build where they made the change. see my next post
  8. Drivers door frame should have a label that shows the date (month/year). Another clue is to look at the cargo lamp button. If it looks like a panel truck, it is an early build. If it looks like a pickup truck, it is a later build.
  9. What's your build date? I was told (and read a bulletin to dealers that confirmed) that the newer trucks only have the Texas Edition badge instead of both. Mine (Texas Edition LTZ) was built in 08/13 and has both.
  10. The newer Texas Edition Silverados only have it this way (minus Silverado). Was thinking of deleting Silverado myself after seeing one at the dealer this way.
  11. Couldn't find it either, but I did find this Lemon Law page that may be of interest. One if the high lights says, "2014 Chevrolet Silverado with vibration in steering wheel, full repurchase under New York Lemon Law. Settled in less than 60 days." http://www.lemonlaw.com/wordpress/
  12. Link to the thread with part numbers and sellers. A lot of us just got 'em at the dealer parts dept. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/158271-interior-driver-assist-handle/
  13. Some of us who have the console have also purchased the console insert to help manage that big space...
  14. My '11 did NOT have the adaptive valve. New for '14.
  15. Service Manager at my dealer told me about the bulletin on "tire vibration" as he put it when I took my truck in for the transmission leak recall. Although I do not have the vibration issue, we discussed it at one point because others that have the Goodyears seem (to him) to have the most issues. They are proactively checking on their customer's satisfaction - I had the Continentals and changed them to Michelins. Anyway, he brought up the issue while I was checking out when he asked he if there are any other issues.
  16. Was wondering if you achieved 24 mpg with A/C in Auto or off? Most folks post their mileage, but not whether they are running in Auto or not. I get better mileage when NOT having HVAC set to Auto even in winter.
  17. I noticed there are two part numbers listed by different members. Could this be part of the variance? What part number did most of you order? 23145347 or 20979073 or what?
  18. Chevy is LTZ and High Country.
  19. 14'SilveradoLT - Is that with the HVAC in Auto, vent only or off?
  20. In another thread, they discussed the coating as a "soft", waxy coating as opposed to the hard undercoating of older vehicles. It will rub off. However, there is a TSB about it not being applied correctly from the factory where it peeled, I think. In this case, dealer service can reapply it. For details, you would need to search the other threads.
  21. so far, no issues. I did prep every spot where the gasket attaches with alcohol and had to wait until the right ambient temp so that it would stick.
  22. There are a lot of places that dust gets into the bed and it is very noticable when a bed cover is installed. First, there is a gap in the bed wall at the front (opposite the tailgate)where the section behind the cab meets the floor. The kit I am referring to provided a gasket that seals this gap from top near the bed rail to bottom, across the width and up the other side to the bed rail. Next, there are foam blocks that plug the gaps on both sides where the stake rails meet the bed under the bed rails along the front and back and above the wheel well humps in the middle. If you take a flashlight and look under the rails, you can see these gaps easily. Moving on to the tailgate, the kit provided gasket material to run from under the bed rail on one side down along the bed between the tailgate and bed, ending at the bed rail on the other side. They also include other gasket material to seal the ends of the tailgate near the top. This gasket also seals out water intrusion from around the tailgate. Finally, they include clear stickers to put on the round holes on the bed sides, if your bed doesn't already have covers on them. Mine had covers on all other holes except the drain holes at the front of the bed which I did not cover. I have no pics because I installed a Bedrug after sealing the bed, but here is a link to the kit: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001B6IF6S/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I hope this helps.
  23. I installed the bed seal kit that includes gasket material for the front of the bed and tailgate as well as the foam blocks. Really sealed it up for me. In addition to the dust coming in around the stake holes, I also had water leaking in around the tailgate. Nothing now. If interested, I can look up the Amazon link for you. I couldn't find anything better.
