  1. Whoops! Damn auto correct...sorry...fixed it.
  2. I don't know the answer to your specific question. I have the Bose radio with navigation and based on the signatures of others in this thread, I suspect it is all over. I drove a loaner basic model and it had the same issue. If this helps, tbarn posted the update document in post 685 with RPO codes. If your is listed, this probably pertains. You can always send a PM to tbarn for more info (he is a GM tech). #PI1288A: Poor FM Radio Reception - (Sep 5, 2014) Subject: Poor FM Radio Reception Models: 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 2015 Chevrolet Silverado (Without RPO AVF) 2015 GMC Sierra (Without RPO AVF) Equipped with Radio RPOs IO3, IO4, IO5 or IO6
  3. Thanks David. Did this help you receive NEW channels/stations or did it help bring in those you already were receiving better or both? My radio receives the stations I want to listen to, they just drop in and out.
  4. How did you get the backup and amber lights to work? I read on another thread that the lights did not work with the stock plug without some sort of mod.
  5. De -badged the "Silverado" from the doors and just left the Texas Edition for a cleaner look like the newer builds. Might keep going, but here it is for now...

  10. My bad. Post 21 shows the round Chevy emblem installed and post 18 shows the link to the part number.Don't know of a GMC version. Chevy one is for the Camaro. Hmmm. Are there any other GMC models that have engine covers?
  11. I just sent an email to AMP Research Customer Service through their Contact Us page and Joe reached out to me and recommended the installer to me. 12. Amp PowerSteps are great.
  13. I reached out to AMP and they referred me to Texas Hitches & Trucks in Austin. Talked to Nick who had them in stock in their warehouse. $1,300 installed for the P&P version and he was able to get them installed the next day. They only took two hours to install them...3 guys ...but recently had some clunking and discovered all of the screws/bolts were loose. I torqued them down myself and all is fine. Otherwise, they did a good job and they did the hard part (didn't take truck back...too easy to fix myself). I usually check installations like this, but didn't this time...but I would use them again.
  14. Same thing...some call them fobs while others call them remotes. Owners Manual calls the system, Remote Keyless Entree (RKE) System and the "Fob" is referred to as the RKE Transmitter. Remote Keyless Entree alows unlocking the vehicle without a key by using a transmitter. OK, so how many folks actually call them "RKE Transmitter"? Try searching for that on eBay or just make it easier and call it a "Fob". Amazing...GM...
  15. Deep Ruby Metallic...
  16. Don't want to read 45 pages? Well, here's a brief summary...There are reception issues with the 2014 GM trucks...some worse than others...HD does not lock in and stay in consistently...cannot permanently turn off HD...non HD FM fades in and out...one of our members shared his work with GM engineers to solve the issues...resulted in a software update and new hardware module for pre Dec '13...quote: Had the PI 1288 update done to my early build (7-13) silverado no better reception but when you shut off the HD it will stay off when changing stations. So here we are...no real fix...GM has decided no HD in 2015 models. That's it...want more info, read the thread.
  17. I believe it will NOT switch between non HD and HD if this is off. From the Silvy Infotainment..."If the channel is broadcasting HD Radio Technology, the radio will automatically switch to digital audio, indicated with an HD Radio Technology logo." It also says..."If the HD Radio signal loses reception while listening to channel HD1, the radio will go back to the main non-HD Radio channel."
  18. Thinking back about the survey I answered some time back...didn't really ask about features and did't allow for comments. They seemed to only be interested in overall satisfaction with the purchase. It was a GM survey...
  19. Does it also allow you to turn the radio completely off? If I hold the power button, mine goes to the clock with no sound like I wpuld expext if it is off. But when I restart my truck, after the welcome screen is done, it reverts back to the radio screen with sound "muted" (speaker icon with x on it) as if it was not turned off, just muted. When I touch the power button, it un-mutes and begins playing. Occasionally, if I turn the radio off to the clock screen, it will start this way after the welcome screen. Never had a radio before that I couldn't turn off. I have the Bose Nav radio in my Silverado LTZ.
  20. Well, my Amp PowerSteps developed a clunk sound on the drivers side. The front bracket was very loose and after tightening it up, the clunk is gone. Decided to check the other brackets and found all bolts were loose, even the motor mount screws. Tightened all to AMP's torque specs and all is quiet and secure...happy now! I guess my installer worked too fast after all! Word to the wise...always check your installers work!
  21. And don't forget, GM sells CARS that cost far less with HD radios that work, not to mention better non-HD FM reception that is much better!
  22. I like that is all matches. My LTZ has wood grain in some places and metal in others that doesn't seem to match any other trim...
  23. Co Correct. I had to order my passthru harness separately. Ordered it from Realtrucks.com.
  24. So are you saying that removing the leather key fob solved your problem?
  25. Hopefully dmd277 or hillrider will hear from Dealer after they contact the engineers. Since the TSB does not seem to cover early build radios (like I have), I am concerned about the bureaucracy requred to get it fixed since the engineers know there is a module replacement required for early builds, but this is not stated in the TSB. Is GM going to require all of us to write letters to get this resolved? I sure hope not.
