  1. My Airaid should be in early next week.. can't wait. For you guys that just installed it.... how is the noise level? can you explain....
  2. Let us know... I would think the close box would be a little quieter
  3. not very skeptical .. just don't want anything annoying....except when I punch the gas! I should have it installed by next week.
  4. Guys with the Airaid - how is the intake noise level? When you punch the gas.. I'm sure you can hear a difference. But what about just cruising on the highway ... is there anymore noise when compared to stock ?
  5. I did think about that same thing in advance. Hard to say.. but I would guess they tested this with both the silverado and sierra in advance. The rubber seal looks like it's flexible and can bend downward by a good .5 inch Can some of you guys that have the Airaid now comment?
  6. That Volant looks the same as the Stage-2 Si Intake from AFE....closed up type. But I just purchased the Airaid today... seemed like the consensus was this was best box so far for the 2014... hope I made the right choice.
  7. They do...gmc all terrian
  8. I was planning on going with the Dry filter. Any difference in airflow between the two? Other than the dry costs about $10 more and is less maintenance
  9. thanks for the info.. Airaid it is..
  10. I do know it will flow more air? is this your opinion or is there some data that shows? also.. where did you purchase your airaid ?
  11. when looking at both the Airaid and the Stage-2 Si Intake from AFE ...... I guess the main difference is the Airaid is open (used hood as the top) And it draws the air from under in front of the grill. The AFE is closed and draws the air from the factory opening. My thoughts are the Airaid will definitely have more intake noise when the power is put down. As for the where they "draw" the air from... I don't know if one is better than the other.. thoughts?
  12. Any more opinions ? ?? Airaid or the one from AFE ??
  13. anyone else have opinion or preference ?
  14. Guys, I'm about to order one of the boxes. What do you recommend... the Air Raid or this one from AFE Power http://afepower.com/shop/details_new.php?partno=54-74104&filter&menu=gas&engine=5.3L&searchtype=vehicle&make=Chevrolet%20Truck&model=Silverado&year=2014&engine=5.3L&&brandID=56 ?? Please let me know you thought and pro's and con's . They are priced about the same.. just dont know which on to get. The AFE looks cleaner
  15. Or just get a GMC with the LED DRL... then it will be cool to have them
  16. I like the wheels.. those are the only OEM chevy wheels I can stand to look at.
  17. they have to be vented somewhere. I notice a slight fog at the bottom... sometimes when humid. But goes away soon after..
  18. Bbowen - Same exact thing with me. Seems to only do it when cold... and only for a few min. Maybe wet vs dry outside could have something to do with it. don't know.. because it's not happening all the time. I would call it more of a "creaking" sound under the bed. Definitely not a pop.. my guess would be a body mount bushing ... or maybe shocks anyways.. like you ... I havent mentioned to dealer. Not bad enough, plus I would have to leave it overnight.. and they likely would say nothing is wrong..
  19. I dont think the shocks are to blame. I bounced up and down in the bed of the truck and the shocks sound fine. To me it seems like a "creak" sound from the body mounts... but I dont know for sure..
  20. Tbare54, You make a great point.. I was just thinking about this the other day. Seems like the issue is when going over rough roads. .....dirt roads... low speed... where the fuel can move around. Seems more noticeable when the tank is FULL. I have a standard 25 or 28 gallon tank..not sure the exact... but it's the standard tank size. But it's interesting that you mention this....
  21. I would guess the shocks... but I bounced up and down in the back of my truck bed like a fool the other day before leaving. Truck was quiet... didn't make the same sounds. I'm thinking body mounts..
  22. Yep I have Z 71. Only when its cool or cold, its more like a creaking sound
  23. I did the 2 inch level to my at. The gas mileage suffered about a half of an mpg. But the truck sure does look better. Get a 1.5 or 2 inch
  24. give it a few days... log out and try again. I believe it takes a day or so...
