  1. Ozzy, looks great.. What did you ground to? the battery?
  2. Awesome , thank you.
  3. Can some of guys post pics of your install... pictures of where you mounted everything? It would be helpful since there actually isn't a whole lot in this 29 page thread.
  4. My head is spinning now... I guess both kits work fine. I just ordered the Capacitor kit because a few others with SLT ( LED drl) ordered as well and they are working great.
  5. I don't think so. The way I understand everything is you can't go wrong with either. Many have stated their HID lights are working fine both CANbus and capacitor link. But I'm not sure what the difference is... I know next to zero about this stuff.
  6. how is CANbus and capacitor link kits different?
  7. Here is what I ordered on Friday - MOPAR LOW BEAM: MORIMOTO ELITE HID SYSTEM Ballasts - 3Five DSP Harness Type - HD Relay 9012 Bulbs – 3Five 4,300 Capacitor Link Seems some are getting Canbus, some Capacitor... not sure what the difference is or what any of it means. But it seems both are working fine for folks. Where are guys grounding?
  8. We really need to get 2 seperate sub treads... 1 just for Silverado and 1 for Sierra.
  9. ok.. no canbus it is.....for Sierra SLT with LED DRL... so the final answer is below.. No need for the CANBUS. MOPAR LOW BEAM: MORIMOTO ELITE HID SYSTEM Ballasts - 3Five DSP Harness Type - HD Relay 9012 Bulbs – 3Five 4,300 ( best match for factory Sierra DRL ?) Capacitor Link http://www.theretrof...ml#.U-QKEuNdUhM
  10. Everything I read say get the Canbus ...no I'm confused... What is it guys? I could care less about the money.. just want it to work right with no issues.
  11. Guys, I'm thinking about ordering the Morimoto kit. Just be sure, is the below sound correct to you pros...I just want 35watt, and I guess 4,300 is the best match to the factory DRL.. or should I get 5,000 ? 9012: MORIMOTO ELITE HID SYSTEM Ballasts - 3Five DSP Harness Type - Canbus 9012 Bulbs – 3Five 4,300 ( best match for factory Sierra DRL ?) My goal is to cut/ hack as little as possible. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/hid-systems/morimoto-elite-hid-system-9012.html#.U-PpzPldXYE
  12. +1 ... the thread is so long, it's all over the board. I wish we could get two seperate post for the Sierra and Silverado... with step by step pictures, links and part numbers. Basically stating here is what you buy, here is where you buy it, here is how to install. Dummy proof.
  13. I had it installed on my truck with a 2in level up front. No issue..
  14. post the pic of the installed set up...
  15. +1 ...Thank you fondupot ... got mine installed. Best hack ever for these trucks.
  16. cool.. everyone moved it over to the #22 slot!
  17. it was covered a few month back on tech link - http://sandyblogs.com/techlink/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/May-Techlink-2014-F.pdf basically the dealer wont do anything - but some reported they have.
  18. I'm having trouble understanding the process here......likely making it out to be harder than it actually is. Do i actually need to unplug anything on the brown color harness? . or just "jump" the diode in the correct pin slots?
  19. I was very seriously thinking about getting that Kicker. But I ended up getting my audio shop to do a little custom set up.. basically the same idea, but with better stuff. Total costs of my set up was about $850 and it is worth every penny. This BOSE system really comes to life with a sub. I got a JL 10TW3, custom fab box for double cab.. JL AMP, base control knob.
  20. I'm not sure about the city driving.. but highway (90% of my driving) you will for sure notice a difference. Here some good info http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/156696-front-plastic-air-dam-skirt-valance/
  21. I agree... but all manufacturers have pressure to get the highest MPG... by both the customer and government. GM loves to advertise that their truck get's 1 mpg better than ford. Personally I could care less.. but I think many people do. Unfortunately better aero (like air dams dragging the ground) and weight reduction is the easiest way to increase MPG.
  22. you're going the loose about .5 MPG... maybe more. Same as if you level the front end.. when I did that.. I lost about 1 mpg.
  23. +1 ... don't waste your time on Pro Comps, Skylacker or any "lift company" shocks. They all suck the same. Bilstein smokes them all..
  24. It's most likely the leaf springs. Had mine replaced... all good.
  25. did you install in a crew cab or double cab?
