  1. ceramic coating around here runs $999 - 1999. definitely worth it, but hard to fork over on a new vehicle. Has anyone applied it themselves with much luck?
  2. GM does some odd things. But I've been in the forums long enough they do also listen to the complaints. A lot of the changes were the stickies on this forum, which is great to see. But, they still have a ways to go in my eyes. the major complaints I have about my custom trail boss; - no LED or HID lighting. It's 2019 get your shit together, any truck over 40k should have this. The bed lights and interior have LED but the headlights don't? - the tailgate is aluminum and plastic. it's a POS, and its not going to stand up to any abuse. You have to treat it like a wet soda cracker. Not truck-worthy. - no CD player (minor flaw) again it's 2019 this should be a standard option. I was surprised to find no CD player. - as mentioned the lack of storage all around. Mainly the center console, front hump, and rear storageunder the seats which is taken up even more by the bottle jack than before. Glove boxes are small as well - no stock rear wheel well liners, yet they are on the front? I purchased these $350+ - unable to toggle the camera without sliding the screen and clicking, then it only toggles for 10s (which would be fine if I had a toggle button on the wheel) so the 10s camera shot IS distracting while trying not to be. - gas door is not locking. especially with the capless filler, this should be a locking door, actuated via remote or inside the cab/park indicator. To deter tampering
  3. No one buys these trucks for the center console storage. That's the main issue, and they realized it and took advantage - I feel like sometimes I walk away and tend to accept them for what they are, because I put that on myself for not checking. But GM has to take responsibility too. It's not the end of the world, the truck is still amazing, I just need somewhere to throw a couple of odds and ends. I think anything above a WT model should have the storage compartment, regardless of the cost reduction on custom's/elevations/etc. What is the issue with the rear door? I'm just learning about the truck. I call BS on the fact you'd spend 5k+ more to go to a higher trim just for a center console that can be fixed for ~$300. Maybe you would of ordered this via the dealer, but no one upgrades trims for this option. Again I agree with you in the fact that this shouldn't be an issue in a 2019 trail boss (which still isn't cheap).
  4. looks great. I'm undecided on a tonneau cover or backrack. I'm waiting on my wheel well liners from the dealer to show up too. really considering blacking out the chevrolet and possibly black emblems
  5. for the center console, or the organizer? lol
  6. hey everyone, I have to say, the 5100s were not as great as I expected in the end. I had ~50k miles on mine, and they got a little rough recently. I would consider other options next time. we live in a rough winter climate and im just wondering if anyone ever achieved a way to seal them and keep the shocks looking new-ish. Mine looked just as bad or worse than the ranchos in the end.
  7. Anyone find a nice center hump organizer/storage bin? I could manage with a quality one, that fit with the GM mats and didn't clash. It seems to be an alternative for this expensive center console swap, and it is absolutely dead space.
  8. Does anyone make 2019+ frame plugs?
  9. Yeah I hear you. I may upgrade the headlights as opposed to adding fog lights. Undecided yet. I assume headlights (hi and lo) will be cheaper than the fog assembly. The day I bought my truck, they had sold 3 trail bosses. Which is a lot for St. John's. They are offering 0% and 4450 off the trucks at the moment. See what comes up the fall, you may end up with better again.
  10. I paid more for the LT z71 than I did the Trail boss. The whole reason for the upgrade was mainly; i racked up 100k on the LT in 3 years, it still had value, and the discounts on the Trail Boss put me in a lower payment by almost $180/month You really have to go in and check on final prices, the sticker doesn't mean much. I got employee pricing, the $4450 incentive, and $1500 incentive for owning a truck, and i got some cash back form the GMPP and insurances. I didnt pay sales tax, but, there are out the door prices on trail bosses around 42-45k.
  11. Did you put a backing, behind the chevrolet lettering? great job, I'll like to get a couple of pics and tips of how you completed this! thanks
  12. nice! where ya from? The big thing to take in to account when you look at the double cab, is the room behind the seat, when you have your chair in the normal position. And even a little farther back, if you had a taller passenger. it's like less than 6" gap from seat to seat.
  13. in what topic, can you remember? I'm curious now. Worst case you could always peel it..
  14. A double cab is extremely small in the cab, but you get that 6.5' bed...a crew cab has more than enough room inside, but that 5.5' box is useless, cant even fit a mattress. I'm so glad I went CC 6.5' box this time, especially for the bikes/atvs.
  15. the grille isn't solid. I thought about this the day I looked at mine as well. but the CHEVROLET is just fins, and air flows through it. I'm sure it can be done, just sounds like a PITA
  16. Yeah hopefully. I think you're going to end up with having to pick one or the other. Personally, I choose a waterproof bed.
  17. Traded mine today guys! catch ya in the 2019 chat.
  18. most tonneau covers have the ability to loosen the tension/downforce on the rear fasteners. Look at the fasteners on the back, are they spring loaded? what brand tonneau cover do you have?
  19. Just traded my 2016 LT Z71 CCSB for a 2019 Trail Boss Custom CC Standard Bed
