  1. I placed an order for a replacement part back in February/March or so. Never heard a thing from them and never received the part. Tried calling multiple times over the last 6-7 months and finally gave up. Fortunately I used PayPal and got my money back for the part. But my cover is non functional so it has been sitting In my garage until I can make my own repair part to fix it. I liked the G4 despite having all kinds of problems with it since the day I bought it. (Minor stuff really other than the failed pivot latch)
  2. Thanks for the info. I just recently got my high country rims. So, much appreciated ?
  3. I took mine out of my 15 for the first time again just the other day. (Forgot it was so easily removable.). I was cleaning it out. I found all kinds of stuff inside the storage compartment underneath that had gone missing. Stuff slides through the small gap and underneath pretty easily.
  4. I just picked it up today (right before work). So, I haven't had a chance to see if the seat shifting is really fixed. The other issues I listed of course "COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME". These included driver side window wind noise, shift issues, really really noisy rattling by the rear seat when in the stored/stowed position and a couple other issues. Such as, the vibration issue I did not have previously and that started just a few thousand miles ago. They stated "AFTER BALANCING AND ROTATING THE TIRE VEHICLE DOES NOT VIBRATE, PERFORM BALANCE AND ROTATE". Driver rear brake squeal at 8K (???). So, we will check these on the way home tomorrow. The seat shifting from what I was told by the service adviser. "They replaced the mounting brackets for both the front driver and passenger seats (I only complained about the driver)." So, they determined it was both seats. The documentation only states "PERFORM REPAIRS ON LINE #9" (not entirely sure what that is). However, on a side note they "REPLACE(d) BOTH DRIVERS FRONT SEAT LANE DEPARTURE ACTUATORS AND AT THE SAME TIME ADDED 2 SEAT FRAME RETAINERS 1 ON EACH FRONT SEAT...". So, not sure what line# 9 is. Anyone know? Maybe it is in one of the TSB's or something I don't have a copy of but I am sure have floated around the forum previously.
  5. My truck has been at the dealer for several days now. The seat shifting/movement is one of the things they are fixing/fixed. Apparently it was both driver and passenger seat so they fixed both. When I talked to them on the phone they said they replaced the seat brackets. So, I don't know if it is a different repair or there was something else going on that led to that or if the adviser just didn't have all the specifics yet. It is there for another day or two (I gave them a list of issues). When I brought it in though they were not surprised at all that I was saying I was having the seat shift issue. They knew exactly what I was talking about.
  6. That is interesting, I haven't had them ask me that yet on my new one or any of my old ones. I just dropped it off yesterday morning for one of my free ones and a whole list of warranty things to get looked at fixed. I will ask them when I pick it up though (no eta yet on when hehe).
  7. Heh, I suspect this is a common issue. My wife doesn't like the idea either. (Probably because I would also want a need different bed cover than my elite G4 (which I love by the way).
  8. 2015 LTZ Z71 5.3L CC W/ 6.6' BED AND 3.42 AXLE. BUILD DATE 08-07-2015 STEEL ARMS
  9. Pretty sweet! Looks like you had fun and beautiful truck. I will have to head up there when I get some free time and check it out. Haven't been in a couple years now.
  10. Looks good, nice and bright.
  11. Not sure what you mean by long enough for the wire harness. For what I did, the wires didn't need to be any longer as I made my wires/connectors the length I needed. The GM kit wires run from underneath the truck at the junction box then up behind the tail lights and from there under the stake pocket and under the bed rails to just past I want to say midway between the tail light and the wheel well. There are a couple holes where the lights mount under the rail there. The wires had enough slack as one of the GM lights is mounted backwards (they are the same light on both sides) so the wire has to be able to go past it and into the connector on the light. So, back when I did this I purchased a second set of lights (I wanted them all to match) the male and female connectors (and all pieces) and wire, etc. Then, made a "Y" harness to split the wires so I could power two sets of the GM lights instead of just one as it is designed for. Adding enough wire to get midway between the wheel well and the front bed bulkhead (all still hidden under the rail). There were no holes for a 2nd set of lights to mount though. So I just used double stick automotive tape to put them in place and cut the notches in my bed liner needed for them to shine through. This isn't too far off from what bone450 mentioned above and was kind enough to provide all the part numbers for. I believe he used different lights though than the GM ones. I only went with GM as I already had 2 of them. His post is below:
  12. I will share some pics the one I did and of the parts and what I made. Give me a couple days though. I put mine together right before I moved and still trying to find many of the items I want/need. (such as the camera I used). Not to mention all while still working full time, Etc...
  13. This is the same thing I did for my second set. I made a "Y" connector from the first ones to the second ones using those same connectors. I believe I also used Mouser. All the wires end up hidden under the bad rails so it is nice and relatively clean.
  14. From what I have read previously, tire width is one of the major concerns as you state. The size tire that was mentioned earlier is pretty close to the OEM width. So, I am hoping there won't be any problems in that regard when I do go to try them out. My only other concern is the angles for control arms that may be affected... and how far I could go if I were to do the adjustable on front and rear in conjunction and any possible issues.
  15. So, after looking into the size info you gave. The stock tire --- 265/65/R18 31.6" Tall (6.8" wheel to edge of tire) 10.4" Wide 99.1" Circumference The 275/70/R18 33.2" Tall 10.8" Wide (7.6" wheel to edge of tire) 104.1" Circumference Thank you for the info, gives me something to look forward to.
  16. Thanks! appreciate the info!
  17. My apologies if this has been asked before. I could not find it in a search. Perhaps I was looking for the wrong wording? If so, direction to it is appreciated. What I am trying to find out is if anyone knows the max tires size that will fit a 2015 Silverado LTZ Z71 without rubbing. With the stock 18" rims (and or the stock 20" High Country rims?) The truck is not lifted yet. (Really wanting to do the Rocky Ridge Callaway SC480 conversion but that is proving to be a headache just trying to get information). Anyway, I am currently running the stock I believe 265/65/R18's still. I may buy a set of High Country 20's if I can find a good set for a reasonable price. That will come later though if I do that. So, what fits? to fill out the wheel well and not rub in the interim? Thanks in advance
  18. That is the same one I bought. LOVE it. Mine is not perfectly straight though (I should have taken the tailgate off to line it up). No one seems to notice but me hehe. It is bright. I chose to go w/ a 5-pole trailer T connector when I hooked it all up so it plug and play.
  19. I installed mine myself. It wasn't too bad, like I have said in previous posts it was the adjusting that took forever. As for leakage I really haven't noticed much lately. Which opt7 did you go with?
  20. How do you like the caddy? I was toying with buying it for mine when I first ordered the cover. In the end I decided to wait on it and just got the cover for now. Then, about two weeks later while picking up some stuff at Costco I saw they had these black bins with yellow lids (they have them again at the store now). I bought one for some other stuff (collectibles/wargaming stuff) to store. I tossed them in the back with the other junk I purchased. After I got home I noticed from the back that it seemed to be almost perfectly sized to be half as wide roughly of the interior of the truck bed. So, I pushed it all the way forward then opened the front hatch and found they were pretty darned close to a perfect fit. So, I went back and bought two more specifically for the front of the truck. They stay in place without problem. They are also reasonably easy to open. I might try and make some sort of hinge on the inner side but haven't needed to yet. I LOVE my cover overall though. Took a while to get it adjusted right though (mostly user error in the end). But, seems pretty good now. I do still need to adjust one of the front locks but it hasn't been an issue with it functioning at all.
  21. I would not mind a free 7mm nut driver... always hard to find the right size when you need it.
  22. Thanks for the pic, I will see if this helps the issue I am having. Mine does not really sound like a rattle. More like a pressure/air leak or something. Who knows though it very well could be this and just sounds odd.
  23. I have what I can only describe as a kind of... I don't know really... a buzzing esque... pressure bleeding... wind noise? I have no idea coming from under my dash for the last few thousand miles (just hit 7k yesterday). I have not been able to figure out what the heck it is. I wonder if it is related to the screw you mention...
  24. I SO want one for my truck. Bringing back the "Fall Guy" look to the trucks just is nostalgic! Would love to see pics of one if anyone has one mounted, up close to see what it covers/how it looks mounted.
