  1. That assumption would be wrong, cost me over 2Gs to fix that crap. That's how my vehicle looked after 3 years less than 30K miles, garaged, washed, waxed, no snow or ice. I live on the Cali Central Coast, h**l it don't even rain. That's definitely a defect, there is another thread on this forum about that.
  2. If 20" wheels from the prior gen fit this gen, definitely not the wheel size. I have been running the 20" since 2014 without any issues.
  3. This is not a common problem but it happened to me back in 2014. I made a post about, you'll have to look it up. When outside temps rose to 90+, my AC started blowing hot air from all vents. When temps dropped below 90, the AC worked fine. The 90 degree outside temp is a close guestimate plus or minus 5. The dealer diagnosed the problem to be a faulty "AC High Temp Sensor". Replaced the sensor in 2014 and never had the problem again. Now I have to add that temps where I live barely get to 70 year round so if the problem was not fixed I would probably not know day to day. However, I do frequent areas that regularly get in the high 90s or triple digits. I'll be in LA in a couple of days, weather is scheduled for triple digits. Shoot another post and I'll let you know how it went.
  4. Although I do agree with the second part of your post, the first part is way off. I have never used a car wash, my truck was garaged, and this happened to me the third year of ownership. Definitely a defect in paint, application, and/or lack of quality control.
  5. $9.91 for Super Unleaded in Mendocino Ca
  6. Saw a $8.05 price for regular in a LA gas station today.
  7. For regular, Ca gas prices are ranging from $4.45 to $7.25 depending on if you live near Mojave or the Pacific. Overall average though is a little over $6.00. The governor's plan is to send $400.00 per car rebate (no more than 2 cars) to every registered owner in the state. Sending me $800.00 will stretch to about 133 gallons at the current average price per gallon. That's about 5 fill-ups in my 26 gallon tank in the truck, driving the sedan is closer to 7 fill-ups . Now that I have cut back on driving along with shifting to the sedan, 7 free tanks 'ill go a long way.
  8. Went to my current dentist a while back for a cleaning and he said, did your previous dentist use super glue to fix this tooth? I said, now the truth comes out. You don't remember the work, cause you did it. Back when both of us were in the military, he was actually my dentist. RPG shrapnel to the head, TBI is real, get everything you deserve. Thanks for the exemplary service.
  9. The military gave you new teeth in the blink of an eye, if it looked like it was going bad, it was replaced. Most times you deployed to places where there was no doctor or dentist so if you didn't get it replaced, you couldn't be sent to a doctor. Fix it or duct tape it, the military ain't got no time for pain. Pain is a life or death distraction when you're outside the wire. Best thing that happened to me was replacing 31 teeth (joking), but it was the 32nd tooth that hit me like a Mack truck, dropped me straight to my knees. I would rather go a few rounds with Iron Mike than have a cracked tooth deep in the gum.
  10. Man I hope that's wrong, Ca prices are usually around 2 bucks more than the average. There goes all of the casual and unplanned trips.
  11. I'm somewhat immune to dental pain due to free "grills" during my military career. My tooth not only cracked from side to side, pics showed the crack went deep in the gum. That type of crack was the worst pain I've ever felt. Only options at that point is to extract and replace with an implant or not.
  12. Saw an ugly 7.50 price in a store in Southern Cal. Some Ca drivers have slowed down in an attempt to save gas, but I noticed a lot of Ca drivers just cut back on the the casual trips. I used to take a couple of casual trips a week. At 6.50 per gal, that saves me about 174.00 per month without trips.
  13. Without a crown there will be a gap in the smile, implant is below the gum. Had an implant back in Feb, it takes at least 3 to 6 months to heal if a crown is installed. Absolutely no pain for the implant, didn't require and meds. Although results may vary, easier if a tooth is extracted, the surgeon can use the open space vs cutting in a gum without a hole. Going to schedule for the crown, 4500 for implant and crown.
  14. I don't measure anything, I eat to be content rather than full, don't eat a solid meal for 24 hrs (PB&J with fruit 18 hrs after the solid meal). That breakfast looks pretty good, my onions would have to be Vidalia Sweets. Last time I ate turnips was probably 55 yrs ago, don't remember the taste. What kind of taste do they bring to that meal?
  15. This happened well before the 4 yr mark on my truck, out of warranty to do anything about. 3500 - 4000 is a lot for the roof and hood, is this some wiz-bang type paint? I had my hood and roof done for half that price at a reputable paint shop, and that was with a 25% increase in paint products. Definitely inferior quality control in those areas of the truck, but unlikely GM will do anything about it. If you plan on getting it painted, keep a receipt just in case.
  16. Google search does show replacement inserts, if they fit your wipers is another question. I picked up some aftermarket wipers, but saw OEM wipers (not inserts) on RockAuto for about 40 bucks for the front set.
  17. Like the old Chevy, reminds me of JJ Da Boss Ole Heavy
  18. Watching NASCAR on dirt. Can't see a whole lot, but kinda like it. No lines, just a groove. Not used to seeing a stock car drift that far under control.
  19. Start with not taking it back to that shop 'cause that ain't normal. I've had my truck since 2014 and it has never done that. You may get more responses if you provide more info, but keep an electrical diagnostic in your pocket just in case you don't hear something you can work with.
  20. Yeah this is an old subject. There was a ton of what folks thought it was, even a few tricks (you probably read it all). A few dealers tried a couple of things, but no GM fix. What kind of music do you listen to while parked or traveling at low speeds? Do you listen on FM, XM, or media? Found out early on with these trucks, more bass was not the cause of buffeting, but it made the problem worse.
  21. Per the gen 4 manual, page 9-22, paragraph 2, pressing the button to the ACC/Accessory position allows the vehicle to be pushed or towed. You have a gen 5, but I don't suspect there will be much difference.
  22. And I respectfully disagree with both of their definitions. But that's ok, 'cause I'm not a biblical scholar. To me, faith is the lack of fear. If man had faith instead of being fearful after seeing the wind and waves, he would have remained on the top of the water. That's what HE said....
  23. Your above comment is intentionally not considered in every day life. As for the news, anything close to "conscience, truth, facts, and honor" is the evening and local news. Everything else is just news talk shows with a bunch of opinionated so-called experts. When you're watching someone on the ground versus in an office chair, that's probably news. Either way, lies have consequences that will come due.
  24. I read talk of folks wearing 2 masks. It would be dumb for me to wear double because my mask is so thick, I wouldn't have to be concerned with covid. Why, I would be dead of suffocation first. Went up 6 flights of stairs the other day, oxygen got really thin.
  25. Electric is practical for Secret Service type of driving, but I don’t see those vehicles going electric. Although those beasts burn a lot of fuel, driving ten miles here and ten miles there is not going to save anything or put out any measurable monoxide. Even if they were to change, it wouldn’t be smart not to have a back-up fuel canister.
