  1. I thought I read the column shifter was still electronic but a column shifter was used to appease the average buyer.
  2. I have the Cooper Stronghold on my 2020 Ram 2500 company truck and yes, they are louder even when new. And louder than the Cooper Discoverer AT3 that was on it before. I did get 65k out of them and probably could have easily gone another 8k but they started getting loud at about 40k and the noise continued to increase. My '21 D'Max is about ready for a set and will probably go with Michelin tires. I've never been disappointed with a set of Michelins.
  3. Not your issue but I have a good one. I had a 2001 Silverado that developed a sporadic flutter at speeds above 60mph. It really annoyed me (because I couldn't find the cause) but it drove my wife crazy. Which in turn aggravated me even more. One day while driving I leaned forward to find the source and noticed it was the rubber cover over the hood hinges under the cowl panel. I guess the bug deflector on the hood contaminated the air flow. I replaced the rubber with a heavier piece and solved the issue.
  4. You did good. I had one that was smaller but was driving me crazy. Fortunately, I know a PDR man that fixed mine.
  5. I usually keep a tender on my vehicles and get 5-8+ years on them. Last several I bought the Duracell batteries at Sams and so far so good. FWIW, I had a Harley and got 11 years out of the battery, always on a tender when she was put up for the night.
  6. This is handy as well. Sometimes the 20" height is much. but works great if you have a vehicle on on jack stands and wrenching simultaneously from topside and underneath.
  7. My company truck is a RAM Tradesman 2500 and has the feature to activate the tailgate camera on demand and I wondered if my 2500HD has this feature but haven't checked.
  8. My company truck (RAM 2500) came new with Firestone Transforce tires and they were okay at first but after about 20k the traction declined, especially on wet roads. Because it was a company truck I had to run them and ended up getting 60k out of them and I really despised them the last 35k. I had a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 and they were good but started getting loud at about 50k. I got 60k out of them. Now I have Cooper Stronghold AT and I like the AT3's better as the Stronghold's are louder than the AT3's. It's about time to put some on my Duramax and likely go with the Michelin Defender.
  9. I have been a Michelin fan for years and when it was time to replace the OEM Bridgestone Duelers some years back on my Escalade I put the Defender LTX on it and man was I immediately impressed with the great ride, handling, and further impressed with the durability and wear. My '21 Duramax is about ready for new tires and I'm seriously thinking about going with the LTX2. It currently has the OEM Wranglers and I really can't complain about them.
  10. My employer must be buying them all up. Most of out fleet was Ford and RAM, now as they are being replaced they are distributing the 1500, 2500, and 3500 dually Silverado's.
  11. I heard a coworker tell another once "That's nice, that's what I'd buy if I didn't have any money". As far as RAMS, I think it boils down to affordability. many people look at their trucks as disposable so go with the lower priced trucks. FWIW, I've had a '20 2500 RAM company truck since it was new. I've only had several issues so it's been a good truck. Had a company provided F250 for a period and it was good but I didn't like the seat comfort. I would definitely prefer my Duramax over either of the two.
  12. I've had a extended cab (now dubbed a double cab) and have had 2 crew cabs since. My current '21 Duramax has the 10 speed and it's just me and the wife 95% of the time and I would never go back. Plus, IMO the resale value on a crew cab is going to be better due to demand and popularity.
  13. I've used HF liner for that and multiple other things.
  14. I like the seats in my '21 and prefer the firmness. I drove a Super-Duty about 6k miles on a trip several years ago and it was not comfortable. I ended up buying and using a foam stadium seat to make it somewhat bearable while on that trip.
  15. Was in Green Bay last week., -7 Friday morning, plane was scheduled to board at 0537. Didn't board until almost 0600, 7 minutes before scheduled departure. Announced the captain said the cabin was too cold for passenger comfort so had to warm it up. I'm thinking heck I live in West Texas but still had the foresight to warm the car up before headed to the airport. I was thinking this is Green Bay where extreme cold is anticipated, I guess they didn't have the foresight. They should know this... Good joke about Texans... Here is mine, all in good humor.lol The young Wisconsinite came running into the store and said to his buddy, “Elmer, somebody just stole your pickup truck from the parking lot!” Elmer replied, “Did you see who it was? The young fella answered, “I couldn’t tell, but I got the license number.”
  16. The thing is some people with 4WD think just because they can blaze through the wintry stuff without getting stuck, many fail to realize everyone has 4 wheel brakes so they can't stop any better than the next guy, actually maybe even less due to speed and momentum.
  17. This is the way I do mine.
  18. FWIW, I bought a NAV-Disc update off of eBay years ago for my Escalade and it worked fine.
  19. I myself think that the cost to upgrade is very unreasonable and should be a courtesy with discounted upgrades. I'm on the road a lot especially in Texas with work and rely on Waze. I keep hearing Google maps is going to update to be more comparable to Waze. Some people I know use Waze but the majority use Google.
  20. I used to to some some long rides on some Harley's that I used to own and after about 150 miles it killed me. I heard good reviews about a Pro Pad Touring Polymer Gel Insert so I had them installed. What they do is remove/cut some of the foam out and inserted the pad between the foam and the seat cover. It was a great improvement and could enjoy 400-500 miles rides. You might look into that if you want retain the original seats.
  21. Years ago me, the wife and our teen lived in an open floor plan home and she decided that she wanted to change the color to a tan which entailed painting the living room, breakfast nook, dining room and kitchen. She decides on a color so I get the paint. That Saturday her father and I spent the entire day painting while she was out shopping. As soon as she stepped in the door she protested that there is pink in the color and didn't like it and wasn't having it. So, during the week she was getting sample colors and striping a wall to get her selection right. The following Saturday the father in law came back over and we painted the house again. I absolutely hate painting. Just last year she decided to change the color or our exterior trim. I hired a contractor. They can do in 2-3 days what would probably take me about 1.5-2 weeks.
  22. The intention in my statement "I don't mind helping a man that is down. I do not want to help a man that is too lazy to help himself" evidently lacked clarity. I would always render help to a person in need, just not money. I've offered to buy them a meal and they declined my offer, they just wanted money. I've had others that simply demanded money. Years ago one night I had a guy ask me at a grocery store for gas money so he could get his family home in the next town about 30 miles away. I obliged him and think that I gave him a $5 bill. A week or so later at that same grocery store he approached me again with the same story. I said man I gave you money last week to get home. He didn't say anything, he just turned and walked away. It's the professional beggars that I'm speaking of. I live in a nice area of town and there is a man that has been sitting on the same corner in a wheelchair everyday (except when it's raining) from sun up to sun down for at least 5-6 years. He has someone drop him off in the morning and then pick him up in the evening. The local paper interviewed him and did a story. Of coarse he claims he only gets about $20 on a good day. The local police even checked him out and the story goes per the local PD, he rents a room in a house and it stated that he makes about $1,500 a week begging on the corner. Most days he has a couple of bags with him, I can only guess to appear that he is homeless. When his ride shows up he gathers up his things and walks to the car carrying his belongings unaided.
  23. I'd figure it out before getting out of the parking lot. I've driven millions of miles and she has driven maybe all of 20k and she still tells me how to drive.
