  1. Has there been any noticeable changes to highway mileage since installing your caps? Increase or decrease?? Thanks
  2. 3.0 Duramax LM2: Fuel Filter tools! T40 wrench to drain water from filter (located under the seat floor pan on the drivers side) 36mm 6pt socket to replace the fuel filter element.
  3. Thanks again for your help!! Just wired up my led lights this morning and checked for operation after lunch, everything works great! ??
  4. Thanks again, this really helps! ?
  5. Thank you for the wiring update! What color is the BCM "connector X4-13", thanks again. Ralph
  6. That's excellent news!! My 2017 5.3 struggled to pull my empty aluminum extra tall enclosed trailer with the six speed transmission, that's one of the reasons I traded it in on my new 2020 3.0 Duramax! I can't wait to tow after the engine break in, I really like the way this new truck accelerates and shifts.
  7. Barring the mileage, how did the 3.0 Duramax do towing your tall trailer compared to the 6.2? ie : RPM at highway speed (70MPH) downshifting / upshifting etc. Thanks Ralph
  8. Can you please take a picture to show where the yellow wire is located? I want my led foot well lights to stay on while driving at night and when I open the doors, this sounds like this would do the trick?! Thanks Ralph
  9. I test drove a new 2020 Duramax 1500 crew cab short box last month and really liked the way the engine power curve and transmission shifted in concert. IMO, currently this is the best engine and transmission combo offered in the 1500 GM trucks, worlds better performance than I expected and the truck feels nimble in town. When they supply crew cabs/standard box to the dealers I will look to trade my 2017 in. I do plan on towing up to 6K lbs., I also enjoy this truck empty cruising at 1500 RPM its a nice truck! I've owned many GM trucks and my biggest problem with the last two 2014 & 2017 1500 trucks has been the 6 speed transmission mapping and the throttle lag, I don't enjoy driving unless I'm on the highway not towing heavy loads. The last Chevy diesel I owned was a 1983 C2500 6.2 Detroit diesel what a change!
  10. Thank you very much for posting! This is the first towing chart I have found on the new 2020 3.0 Duramax diesel pickup.
  11. Well now we know the TFL 2020 Silverado 1500 3.0 Duramax 2wd has a maximum tow rating of 7,600 lbs. And that your RST trim level 2020 Silverado 1500 3.0 Duramax has a door sticker rating of over 9,000 lbs. All I'm saying is, it would be nice if GM had the "trailering guides" posted for the new 3.0 Duramax!?
  12. Read this TFL truck story link about the 2020 Ram eco-diesel vs the 2020 Silverado Duramax 1500 trucks. https://www.tfltruck.com/2019/10/ram-1500-chevy-silverado-buddy-review/
  13. I'm confused, there are two tow ratings in print for the new 2020 Duramax 1500 Silverado. TFL truck published: "...with a maximum tow rating of 7,600 pounds. When properly equipped , the latest Chevy Silverado 1500 diesel can tow up to 9,300 pounds." So what makes a 2020 Silverado 1500 3.0 Duramax "properly equipped" to tow 9,300 pounds? I would only guess 2wd vs 4wd or the cab configurations and is there an optional rear gear ratio?? I can't find any 2020 GM Trailing guides for the 3.0 Silverado, maybe someone else has this info? Thanks
  14. Not sure why GM engineered a diesel engine oil pump drive belt to last only 150K miles? The Engineer's were up front speaking about the design of this new Duramax engine, but when I heard about the limit on the oil pump drive belt it was a big "red flag" for me. I think the 3.0 Duramax engine with the 10 speed transmission sounds almost too good to be true. We will see, only time and miles will prove its reliability, that said I can't wait to test drive one!
  15. Me either, but if I was using this new engine to tow across country or use as a high mileage work truck, it would be a service cost consideration.
  16. Chad makes great video's about his new 3.0 truck! What does the 3.0 "max tow" equipment include?
  17. 3.0L Duramax - who owns or has driven one 3.0L Duramax - who owns or has driven one
  18. Congrads on your new truck!!! What color did you get, it looks different in the sun with blue sky than in the shade, I like it. How is the 10 speed now that you have a few hundred miles on the truck? Do you plan on towing with this truck?? Thanks
  19. Sorry, I didn't read both of the entire posts, I will check in to it.
  20. Thanks SkiDooNick700 for the videos'!!! Could you please provide more of your towing specs? I would like to know how much weight your towing and how your truck pulls at highway speed, i.e. down shifting, RPM at 65 MPH, tow haul exhaust braking and anything else you could address. Again Thanks!!!!
  21. Voltedge, I have the same trailer except mine is 8.5 x 18 with extra high head room. My trailer is the same brand and color but I like your aluminum wheels better than my steel wheels! I have made many improvements to my trailer but the first thing I noticed towing it home was the extra height on my trailer made it tow with additional resistance at highway speed compared to my open steel car trailer that weight in around 1850 lbs. My new Silverado is a 2017 1500 CC with a standard box 5.3 6 spd. 3.54 rear, you should be fine with your 6.2. Let me know if you want to see the products I installed to the trailer. Good luck towing, safe travels!
