  1. My truck had the rumble strip shutter last fall. Dealer diagnosed a torque converter and replaced. Well now, 1200 miles later at 21,000 total, she’s doing it again. Disappointed to say the least. I absolutely love my truck, I love the way it looks, I really love the 6.6 gas engine, 10 speed is smooth. This is truly the only problem I’m having. Are there an aftermarket options? All my friends are telling me to consider Ford or Dodge…I bleed GM that just won’t work for me. Any thoughts? 2024, still under 22,000 miles. Pretty easy life, does haul between 8 and 10,000 pounds once in a while.
  2. 100% my biggest complaint. even down hilll...it wont coast. my fathers 6 spd truck will though.
  3. 18k on the best truck Ive ever owned and ive experienced a few things i thought might be of interest. Rear end "clunk" at slow speeds. Same thing ( i think) Pryme had on his truck. Leaf spring bushings. Secondly and more important. From day one, this thing would never coast. You were either accelerating or decelerating. You also had to HOLD it at a red light with the brake. She always wanted to go. Recently, it developed a "shudder" going up hills. Almost like a rumble strip. Its also a PIG on MPG. My fathers 6.6 gas 6 spd does way, way better. First the dealer diaged a misfire. Drove it again and still noticed the shudder. This time its a new torque converter, which to my mind really adds up with everything ive felt and most of it since day 1. Trailer lights and brakes are intermittent as hell. They replaced the whole plug assembly. We'll see. Its been an awesome truck otherwise. Can't wait to get it back. Towed a boat from upstate NY to Key West and back last fall. It did awesome!
  4. yup, same here. i mainly hear it backing out of my drive way because i never hit the bump perfectly straight on. hitting it quartering makes it worse. i never hear it cruising down the road
  5. pryme i have the same exact noise. i thought it was the receiver moving around in the hitch. took that out and still there. shaking the truck by hand is all it takes. funnily enough never noticed it until after i had it fluid filmed
  6. awesome thank you. its pretty weak from the factory
  7. so far so good with the dueller ascent at. quiet ride. semi aggressive look. 3 peak snow rated and low rolling resistance
  8. well. put discoverer at3s on. they were quiet, but sqaure lol. roadforce in the 50s. theyre also discontinued. so went with the replacement. cooper strongback. HATE em. loud as hell and lost considerable mpg. theyre coming off and getting listed. ordered a set of bridgestone dueller a/t. hoping for a quieter ride
  9. tried to do this, but discoverer at3 are NLA. Going with discoverer stronghold. Looks promising, hope it isnt noisy.
  10. i feel it on my 24 gas 10 spd. reminds me of the dfm on my old 1500. just a tiny hesitation/shudder while accelerating before it downshifts. cruising at 45mph lets say.
  11. true, but I guess my point was more this. It will pull it. ittl probably pull it fine. We used to tow the same rig with a 2007 6.0 gas 2500. Truck was a turd. But, it stopped well and handled the weight well. In the big scheme of things that's what matters most. The "that wont pull it, you need a diesel" logic is silly to me. The diesel will clearly tow it quicker and the exhaust brake can be handy. But is that worth over $10k? To some sure to me no. The 6.6 gas tow's really, really well. The 6spd is fine (we have both 6 and 10 now). We were having the same debate in 2007 and still managed to tow our rig literally all over the country with that little 6.0. Everybody forgets what we used to get done without 1000ft lbs of torque. Carry on.
  12. dont over think it. we tow our race rig (9000lb of boat, 2k steel trailer) with a 6.6 6sp gas. It does just fine. Would a duramax tow it faster? Sure. But so what? lol
  13. those look awesome. thats going to be what i do. thanks for the pic man
  14. great looking truck congrats!
  15. the Michelins that came on both my 24 and my dads 21 are great on the highway but freakin terrible in the snow/dirt. planning on a set of E rated discoverer at3s this fall.
  16. these things happen. rare, but they happen. just bad luck. when i blueprint a bottom end, we have specific oil clearances we like to see. i can ball mic 10 sets of clevite main bearings that are supposed to be the same and guess what...they arent. I can measure 5 Callies cranks that should be the same...and they arent. Same for blocks, rods, etc. Point is, we're a very custom low vol engine shop. GM is not. I highly doubt they're blueprinting bottoms ends etc. Nothing at all wrong with that for a production vehicle but occasionally there will be an issue
  17. sort of what I figured but always nice to be sure
  18. Anyone else have a noticeable growl from the PS when turning at slower speeds? Checked fluid, all good. Steers smooth. Only really notice it when pulling into my driveway. Just curious if anybody elses talks to them too lol
  19. have a ton of seat time in a 21 6.6 gas 6 spd and 500 mile son my 6.6 gas 10spd. Honestly? Difference isnt much. Keeps it in the power band a little better...thats about it. Both are awesome. Very similar mpg so far.
  20. after lifter failure and trans slipping on my 5.3/10spd at 57k miles i traded for a 2500 in hopes it will last longer. that being said, id for the 3.0
  21. thats exactly what im after. ill gladly give up a little convenience for something that doesnt make the truck look low. good to hear youre happy with them, thats likely what ill get. thanks man
  22. Too cheap for electric ones but ready to admit im going to need something lol. I generally don't like how they look so that being the case do you guys have any input on some that are tucked away? something semi hidden? Probably have to be rocker mounted but thats not the end of the world. Something along these lines https://realtruck.com/p/go-rhino-rb20-slim-running-boards/v/gmc/sierra-2500/2024/
  23. Dealer gave me 750 off msrp. GM gives a first responder rebate so another 500 there. 5 years ago id be pissed....today? Thrilled lol
  24. first weekend with the new rig. Couldnt be happier. Ride is great (noticeably softer than my dads 2500 x31), interior fit and finish is excellent, and that transmission is silky smooth. Digging the titanium rush color too. Sometimes it looks black. Sometimes gray. Sometimes a really dark blue. Only mods I foresee are some kind of semi hidden assist step, bed cover(already here), mud flaps and removing the ugly ass 4x4 decal lol
  25. shes in! headed down to pick it up now. ill check in with yall mondau fish mojo try a new dealer. it took more than a month for me to get order accepted though
