  1. Could the battery in the TPMS just be dead?
  2. If you are considering that swap, then I say sell both & just go straight to the 10-speed. Or maybe a stick shift?
  3. Yesterday I picked up my truck again from the dealership for a second fluid swap at 47k miles. If this one only lasts half as long, I’ll be happy. In the mean time I’ll be looking at upgrading tuning, the torque converter, & adding additional transmission fluid cooling. They let me use a 2023 4X4 Sierra with the 2.7L Turbo. I have to admit that it had plenty of pep! Throttle response was very good. It would easily spin the back tires. I was surprised that it only averaged mid-18s mpg over the 150 miles I had it when my heavier 6.2 averages only about 2mpg less.
  4. Did you have any luck?
  5. You mean the 8ft bed as the long bed, right? My 18 SLT Crew has the 6.5ft bed
  6. At the minimum tires, then upgrade the brakes. It might be cheaper to rent something like a Van or even a motor home for the trip.
  7. The additional length is between the cab & the axle. So, everything would need to be extended.
  8. I put in a set of the lighted GMC door sills & trimmed the mats to not cover them up. But I didn’t mess with the wiring part.
  9. Sorry to hear that. Years & years ago when the 4L60E was pretty much the only automatic transmission option for RWD GM vehicles someone figured out that the S10 spec converter was looser than the one specced for the B-bodies. So several people were able to get a “better” factory converter through GM dealerships, especially when they blew the transmissions & had them replaced under warranty.
  10. Now it’s going between 153 & 151 ??
  11. So, I’m sitting in my truck after getting home from work & I notice the mileage is at 16061. I think that’s cool, but I should set one of the screens to go with it. In scrolling I find that the Transmission Fluid Temp is at 162 degrees & think I’ll just wait for it to drop to 161 with the engine off. Now I’ve been sitting here a while watching that temp & it drops from 162 to 160. It flips between the 2 before settling on 160. I’m guessing it only reads in 2 degree increments? So, I crank it up & watch it go 160, 162, then 163, 164, 165... Hmm. I turn it off & watch it go back down in the opposite order. Then it goes to 158, 156, & is now at 154 after several minutes of sitting & watching... Kinda weird how it seems to only read in even numbers below 162, but reads every degree above that.
  12. Loaded the bed up with a pallet of cinder blocks to go with the pool we’re putting in.
  13. Dang, that’s dirty! I need to vacuum under there! And I watched the video which answered my question. No, these just slip on over the existing ducting & direct air over the carpet & up a bit. I’m thinking a quick fix could be a little cardboard or something until I come up with something more permanent.
  14. I didn’t even realize that my truck had vents for the back passengers. My fiancé’s boys always complain about how hot it gets back there & I usually run the AC super cold. After reading this thread I scooted my seat all the way forward to see that the vent seems squished in & is partially blocked by the Rear carpet. Do these extensions spread open the existing vents?
  15. I say go for the 4.10s! I put those in my 96 Impala SS with 28” tires. I originally put in 3.73s with the factory posi, but the posi blew up around The 100k mile mark. I drove the car another 65k miles with the deeper gears.
  16. Also had an impromptu run with a lady in a convertible C7 Corvette on the way home. We were side by side at a light. It was a stick shift and she started rolling forward a bit before the light changed, so I gunned it on green. I had her until 55. My lane was ending so I shut it down to let her fly by. LOL I know it wasn’t really a fair run, but she was definitely in it. Neither one of us had any time to prepare. I usually turn TC off, switch to 4Hi & engage tow mode, but leave it in D. When I do that it launches hard enough to piss off my fiancé. Makes me look forward to installing the blower I bought last month
  17. I picked up my truck today from the dealership. I also used the MyGMC points that I’ve been accruing to order the lockbox for the center console while I was there. The drive home was weirdly smooth. I had gotten used to the shuddering a little too much.
  18. I took mine in to the dealership to get the 2nd oil change & the 8 speed transmission fluid changed out. The truck has a little over 13,900 miles on it. They gave me a 2020 AT4 loaner. It’s nice, but only has the 5.3L.
  19. This was during a slow stretch on the way home.
  20. Just got home from taking the family on a trip to New Mexico for Spring Break. Got some impressive fuel economy during a flat low super stretch. 2018 Sierra Z71 6.2L crew cab 6.5’ bed with an eBay intake, muffler delete, & cheap bed cover as the only mods so far. I’ve been using the highest octane available at the pump which ranged from 93 locally to 90 out there.
  21. The reveal is currently scheduled for 5/20/2020
  22. Today, after over a year of ownership, I finally used the truck to tow something for the first time. Naturally the 6.2 handled it with no problem. The roads were wet & the winds were gusty. I initially had it in 2WD, but I gassed it a bit turning onto the road & the back tires broke loose.
