  1. This is false. The upper controls arms for both the trailboss and the standard height 1500's are exactly the same part number as looked up by VIN numbers in GM's parts catalog. As well, GM offers the factory lift as an accessory package that also DOES NOT include control arms.
  2. These are really interesting numbers. I currently have a cold air intake and borla exhaust on my truck. Going to be adding shorty headers and L86 intake manifold and throttle body with an HPTuners tune. My goal is to make RWHP of around 320-330 and RWT upwards of the 360 range. I think I'm being optimistic but we'll see what happens...
  3. Hey, so I know exactly what you're talking about and I've researched this a fair bit. The way I've looked at it is, there is an armrest that should be able to bolt in place of your existing one. You'll have to swap over the seat belt and some of the trim pieces. In anything I've looked at, I don't see why it won't work. If you're interior RPO Code is "HOU" then have your local dealership look into P/N: 84541195 for the armrest and if you want the liner P/N: 84166736. I'm not saying that this has been tried and is a 100% thing, I'm just saying that I don't see any reason what so ever as to why this wouldn't work. Parts you're looking around $600 Canadian so likely much cheaper for you down in Texas.
  4. Its not so much the offset that's causing the issue. What's I've seen is that the caliper actually sticks out past the hub a little so any wheel, regardless of offset, that had spokes that run straight out from the hub are not going to clear the caliper. The spokes need to instantly taper towards the outside of the vehicle in order to clear the caliper.
  5. belltech has a 2/3 kit available P/N: 1010SP. Comes with spindles, shackles, shocks and struts.
  6. Skid plates are available from factory, Got them as an LPO when I ordered my truck. RPO code is "SAM". Its rare to see this on any truck sitting on the lot but if you factory order, ask your salesman about it.
  7. One thing to consider with the wipers is when you buy a truck off the lot, think that the wipers have been sitting in the elements not doing anything since its build, could be months, just drying out. When we replace wipers, they're used all the time with washer fluid, in the rain, multiple times to keep them hydrated. Its not that the ones that came on the truck are garbage, it could just be that the truck has been sitting and they've dried out. Would happen on any vehicle that sits for months and not used the wipers. I run the OEM ones on my truck, first set lasted 2 years, replaced with OEM and so far so good.
  8. The brand as a whole I would hardly consider crap since there are countless people out there with GM products, like myself, who have had zero issues with their trucks. Its unfortunate you seem to keep getting trouble vehicles though. I would suggest checking the owners manual as previously suggested on the seat adjustments, could just be a step that was missed.
  9. Hey, just wondering which genesis cover you used on this? Was it the Genesis Snap Tonneau, The Elite Snap Tonneau, Regular Roll-up, Elite Roll-up, etc. ? Any help would be great, thanks. Edit: Never mind, just saw the last post on here, sorry.
  10. We shouldn't confuse a recall with something else. This is just a customer satisfaction program and NOT a recall. This is just if the customer complains about a 1-2 shift slip. Not a mandatory safety recall. There is quite a big difference.
  11. Yeah exactly. Right now I want to venture out to some trails but its so low on the front end I'm worried about hurting stuff which is kind of par for the course when offroading but still, might as well try to mitigate it. And I like the stance of a leveled truck.
  12. Yeah, I'm trying to get as close to level as possible. I'm one of those guys that doesn't need a truck really but bought one anyways because it was cheaper than the GM mid sized SUV's with a V6. I don't tow or haul anything heavy, ultimately I want to use it offroad more than anything so likely going to remove the lower valence to get a little better approach angle.
  13. This is pretty good info, thanks, so... of the two of you, one with 2" with still a little rake, and one with 2.5" and a little nose high, I'm pretty sure I should be good right in the middle with my 2.25" installed. Going to run 275/60R20 Toyo Open Country AT2's come next spring. Thanks for the feedback!
  14. So, I have a 2.25" spacer that I have yet to put in. My question is to the guys that have 2-2.5"... Are you guys running rear blocks with that spacer? and if not, is the front sitting higher than the rear or is it sitting level? my fear Is that I'm going to be too high on the front... Thoughts?
  15. There's actually two fuel pumps on those. the high pressure pump sits at the back of the valve lifter oil manifold under the intake and of course the main pump is located in the tank. The tick you're hearing might be from the high pressure fuel pump since its close to the firewall.
  16. Had a similar issue with mine, ended up being the fuel fill tube. there's a plastic insert in the hose and on mine it looked almost swollen and wasn't allowing enough flow. Replaced the fill tube and it works great now. The tube is very easy to get at, I would pull it out and straighten it out to have a look down the tube and see if it looks open or restricted.
