  1. Rental is already being paid for by GM, through Hertz. Is there a link that you can share for filing the case?
  2. All the 3.0 Duramax guys still loving them? I have a 2022 Sierra Denali with the 6.2 and it failed on Monday. No official diagnosis from the dealership yet but they found metal in the oil so new engine is on order. I had planned to keep this truck for another 3-4 years but this engine replacement, although under warranty and I had planned on getting the extended warranty, has me thinking if I should look to trade it in for a Duramax. I've never owned a diesel but have familiarity with how DEF works. I don't tow and have a mix of city and highway driving with a short daily commute to work. The Duramax is appealing to me for the fuel mileage and what seems to be the reliability compared to the 6.2. I've previously had many V8 GM vehicles (LS1 Camaros, 98 Silverado, LS6 CTS-V, 6.2 Escalade EXT, 2014 5.3 Sierra and my 6.2 truck). For those that have had both the 6.2 and Duramax / how's the throttle response and regular acceleration?
  3. Add another 6.2 to the list. I have a 2022 refresh Sierra Denali with the 6.2 that was built at the Mexico plant and delivered in March 2022. Just under 35,000 when the engine failed on Monday. What sucks is this is the very first vehicle that I've ordered and purchased new. Previously I always let someone else take the depreciation and bought used but with the refresh and used car prices where they were 3 years ago, I pulled the trigger on the new one with the exact options I wanted. Up until this point, I've loved the truck and only real issue I had was tracking down a rattle in a door panel that ended in a door panel replacement. Mechanically it had been great. I had very little warning on mine. Started in the morning on the way to work with a little flutter around 15000-2000 rpms / right before it would shift. I called the dealer and said that I'd swing by the next day to have them listen to it. Later that afternoon, it turned into a worse rattle sound / more of a knock and then cut out as I was driving down the road (like it sounds like happened to almost everyone else) and wouldn't start. I had my son in the back and was stopped in the middle of the road since the road had no shoulder so far from ideal there! Towed to my GMC dealer (which have been great to work) and don't have an initial cause of the failure but because it won't start and they found metal in the oil... new engine on order with GM. Like many others have said, sounds like it's on backorder. 1. What has been the ballpark on the total time from order to being replaced? 2. And for those that are on engine 3, was the 2nd one a new engine from GM or a refurbished / rebuilt one? I want to do everything I can no to advocate for myself to make sure the 2nd one doesn't have the same issue as this is the first time I've ever had an engine replacement on a vehicle. I had planned on getting the extended warranty to cover the truck for the next 3-4 years but not I'm wondering if I should look into trading it in on a 3.0 Duramax instead of the 6.2... I've had GM vehicles for 20+ years with and have never had anything close to this issue but unfortunately it sounds like every brand has some sort of issue these days.
  4. Definitely don’t let the new shifter be something that stops you from upgrading if you really want to and the money is right on your trade. I had the column shifter on a couple prior GM trucks and then had an Audi S5 in between so I didn’t go directly from column to the new shifter but I like it. Just make sure you look to see that it goes all the way into reverse, I’ve not pushed it up all the way and revved it up a little in neutral. Shifting is smooth though.
  5. Thanks! Old nickname from many years back that I kept since my career is in banking. I hear you on all those things and even if you wanted all those things and the brown leather massaging seats, I couldn’t see the paying another $10k over my truck. Here’s the only interior picture I took the day after I got it. I’m happy to snap a couple more if there is something specific you’d like to see.
  6. Picked up my Denali (6.2, Denali Reserve Package, Painted Wheel Arches) on 3/24. Windows have been tinted and bed cover is in the garage ready to be put on in the next couple weeks.
  7. Thank you both! I'm really happy with the wheels. Without having the spy shots of the black "regular" Denali from back in October, I would have been hesitant to order a truck with wheels I've never seen but I'm really happy with how they look. The sales team at the dealership all were looking at them and taking pictures as they hadn't seen them either being this was the first Denali they had come through.
  8. My Denali arrived at the dealership yesterday and I picked her up today. Sucky weather (40’s and rain) to pickup a new black truck but thought I’d share a couple pictures anyway and then share more up once I get a chance to do a good clean along with getting the front windows tinted. The Denali Reserve Wheels look great in person!
  9. My Denali should hopefully be delivered to the dealership within the next week, ETA shows 3/24. I’m told that it should be one of the first three that arrive at the dealership. I ordered the last week of January and production week was the week beginning 2/28. Denali 6.2 Black/Black Denali Reserve Package Painted Wheel Arches
  10. Here's too pictures of the bed cover. Its dark outside right now otherwise I'd go take one. The first was taken when I was looking it prior to purchase to show the scratches in the plastic on top of the tailgate, but you can see how high the liner comes up in the front of the bed. The second was from the dealer pictures.
  11. The drop in liner isn't something I would have bought so it's not something that I would replace. The cover is more important than the liner. The truck had one added at the dealer when new and has been in place since. I just bought the truck last weekend so I'm in the information gather process right now before I go out and drop cash on accessories.
  12. That's basically the advertised price of the G2 and Undercover Flex that I've seen. I like the looks of those since they sit pretty flush with the bed rails. Very mixed reviews on both.
  13. Just read all 67 pages this afternoon (skimmed some but you get my point). Details on my truck: Crew Cab Short Bed GM Plastic Drop In Bed Liner Wants in a cover: 1. Hard plastic or other material that closely resembles the side rails and wheel arch moldings 2. Holds up well to the elements (Northern Indiana) 3. Minimal water leakage (a few drops in the corners are no big deal, just don't want puddles) 4. Low Profile 5. $800 or less Truck Uses: - Daily Driver, mostly highway - Ability to put golf clubs, luggage, coolers, groceries, etc. in the bed and secure them, won't be in and out of it or folding the cover on a daily basis My last truck was a 07 Escalade EXT with the hard panels like the Avalanche and I was a big fan of those. I would like something similar in material and look but in a Tri-Fold instead of individual panels. Other than looking at the issues addressed in the earlier pages, I was looking to see if anyone has any fitment issues for any of the THI company covers WITH the GM plastic drop in bed liner? Sounds like a couple guys say the bed liner HELPS with getting the covers to seal on the standard beds. Just wanted to make sure they still fit fine with the liner on short beds.
  14. Close... 70 Nova SS and 1969 Camaro SS/RS 396 4 speed are the two in the garage. Those are my dad's cars.
