Shake or Vibration Issues

Why have these "reps" suddenly come back? Do they know something none of us do? Their presence really pisses me off more than anything since they are so useless to getting any resolution for our issues -

Why get one? GM obviously doesn't give a sh*t about their consumers. I agree with the big lemon law firms thing, if I was going to use an attorney, it would be one I know. I'm fully expecting some for of settlement offer, possibly before I even send the notice to them as today was the final repair attempt. I know exactly what I would be willing to accept, if they don't offer that, its straight no deal and I'll see them in Arbitration (I don't let people pressure me haha). -

I've already asked them for a buyback, they refused. I sent them the final repair notice myself, and just picked it up today, I legally do not need any more attempts, and can go to arbitration or court now. I'm planning to use the Attorney Generals Consumer Action Council in Massachusetts, they essentially act as the BBB, but they aren't owned by businesses. -

Yes, I actually just picked my truck up from its Final Repair Attempt, and they replaced all 4 tires this time. I'm now at roughly 12,500 miles. I did first start bringing my truck in for this issues at 370 miles though, so no matter what it is, its on GM to fix. Thats insane, find a new dealership, the place I purchased my truck was acting the same way when I first started bringing it in. **UPDATE** I picked my truck up from its final repair attempt, and I now have paperwork that contradicts what was said the last time i had it in about a month ago (This was after they replaced one tire) Apr 14 2016 RFB numbers LF:14 RF:2 RR:16 LR:14 May 24 2016, all 4 tires suddenly have RFB numbers over 30 May 25 2016, replaced all 4 tires, no specific RFB numbers given, but I'm told they are all less than 10. They tested the truck with the pico again, before the tire replacement, the number was back up to 22 (right at the GM threshold), from 16 after the last time 1 tire was replaced. after the replacement of all 4, the Pico number is way down to 7. I can say that the Vibration is very very reduced at this number, but still slightly present, The foreman says that 7 is the lowest hes been able to get any truck before. My guess is that as the tires break in, the vibration will start to return, and the new tires are merely masking it right now. As for the Radio, all they did was check the connections, They did call GM TAC, but they didn't have any other solutions so nothing was done. although they did say this time that they couldn't replicate the problem that they could the previous times, and they are chalking it up to the broadcast signal. I will officially be filing lemon law within the week. -

I first brought my truck in at about 370 miles for it. I bought it with 14 miles on the Odo. They finally did it on the 4th attempt at about 11k miles Dealers won't release physical copies of the pico scope results, however they may show it to you, and explain what they mean. Be aware though, the software takes the entire ride, and makes only ONE 30s snapshot of it. this leaves us with no proof as to whether it was worse at any other point. The only way to get hard results for the entire drive is to have your own pico scope and do it, or hire someone to verify the results. -

I have: -5 completed repair attempts, and am on the 6th and final attempt -Called GM atleast 5 times -Provided dealers with information I have found and posted here, as well as taken information posted here -Filed a complaint with the NTHSA -Contacted attorneys and the Massachusetts Attorney General about all of the conditions -Been to 2 different dealers, one of which I will NEVER go to again -Never once yelled or even raised my voice at any GM employee, well maybe one, but he was just a service adviser at the dealer I wont go back to, and it was because he was trying to argue with me about the radio losing the mids and highs, and the shake that they "could not replicate" being normal to the vehicle. then he had the balls to tell me to drive in "M5" to help reduce the vibration from the AFM (which is what really set me off). I now have a huge binder full of all of the information I have collected and all of my repair history I agree that: -Filing complaints anywhere and everywhere you can will only help your case -You should learn everything you can about your states Lemon Law, the rights you have, the procedure to retain your qualification etc. -Document EVERYTHING (take notes of any and all conversations, if you have emails - print them, print all published articles and TSB's posted, keep all of your service and loaner documents etc.) -If you can, avoid the BBB as an arbitrator, Businesses pay the BBB to use their name and logo for advertising purposes, they are not a government agency and are paid for by businesses -Be Persistent, remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. call and call and call some more. get repair attempt after repair attempt until something is done Unfortunately for all of you, I do NOT agree that GM will ever admit to the problem, or some up with a resolution. I'll keep everyone updated as my final repair attempt/ buyback/ whatever it ends up as proceeds -

just dropped the truck off for the final repair attempt, after having to argue about getting a loaner. They finally got me a rental Dodge Journey from Enterprise.... good enough. however, because they took so long to get back to me after receiving the letter, they only have until Wednesday to fix the truck 100% and they won't even start until tomorrow since the service department closes at 6:00. Keep ya posted -

I had a 22" Bridgestone tire replaced, it did help to reduce the vibration, but did not eliminate it. it was replaced under warranty -

Being that I have far more than just the vibration issue, and knowing that a properly built/ designed truck with properly balanced wheels should require very little weight, I do not feel the need to allow them to do this. I also would never base purchasing a product solely on where its made. I believe in buying the best quality I can for the money, regardless of where it is made. I am not brand loyal either, I feel that if a company is loyal to its customers, then I will stick with it if its the right decision. however if its not then I wont. Why give a company who doesn't appreciate its consumers your hard earned money. I'll take a higher priced product from a company who will back it over a cheaper non backing company any day of the week. -

But as far as I know, Nissan has never really prided itself on being American, Unlike GM which is now the least American Full Size puckup -

Well, I just got a call from "General Motors Business Legal Department" They are calling my dealer inform them of the final repair attempt, and to "get me in right away" because it's time sensitive. They are going to overnight a letter confirming the receipt of the letter and that they will be performing the final repair attempt. They will decide where to go based upon the results of the final repair attempt. I made it clear that I will consider any trace of vibration or lingering radio issue will be a failed attempt. Here we go.. -

So I was going to my brothers college graduation this morning and had a little time to kill, so I stopped at a Toyota Dealer before they opened just to take a quick look at the Tundras'. Something I noticed was they have stickers on the rear windows showing parts origin and final assembly location of the overall truck and the drive train components. 65% of the parts are made in the US & Canada, 20% are from Japan, and the last 15% are who the h*ll knows (atleast for the one I looked at). in addition, final assembly for both the truck and drive train are the US. Then it hit me, these percentages are higher than my Silverado (at 45% US & Canada parts), and Final assembly of mine was Mexico.... Tundras are now more American Made than GM and even tie Ford F-150, when the h*ll did this happen? here is a percentage list from 2012 http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2012/03/what-percentage-of-your-truck-is-made-in-america.html here is a percentage list from 2015 http://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/top-10/top-10-most-american-trucks-for-2015.html So a company that used to pride itself on not only quality, but being "The American Truck" is now in all actuality, the least American. Just a little bit of an eye opener imho. -
These "GM Bots" are beyond annoying and are absolutely no help, i don't know why they even bother to post here

already had the U-bolts checked as there was also a service recall for them not being tight enough on many trucks. -

If I have the windows down, I normally have all 4 down to the same level -
I can say i had the exhaust pressure in my truck adjusted once, and it helped for a while, but got worse again. I've heard rumors of high flow exhaust systems helping, but I haven't tried it so I cant say for sure. regardless, I sent a final repair notice to GM this past Monday.

All depends on the dealer, My original say then know nothing about it, havn't found any with it, and couldn't replicate it in my truck. I went to another dealer and they admitted to it, immediately felt it, and tried to fix it.... unsuccessfully, but they tried. -

hahaha, well you can't park it on their property, but infront maybe. I drive from the south shore to Boston most days aswell, but I am able to miss the worst of the traffic so I can generally go at a pretty good speed. however since my truck has multiple speeds that it vibrates/ shakes at I just about always have it. -

I got that same response when I contacted GM about mine. I sent them a certified Final Repair/ Demand Letter yesterday, It will arrive to their attorneys office in 2-3 days. from there they have 7 days to fix it or it goes to arbitration. I added a couple extra shots citing how GM is committing fraud and stuff like. Hopefully they get the message that I'm not f*cking around with them. On a side note, I may be working on a project with some other people, and a couple of Engineering Professors to reverse engineer these trucks and find the source. -
My truck will randomly turn the RDS system off, and wont show anything. I will say that my radio has suddenly gotten "better" but it is still not fixed, remember "better" is a relative term, There is 1 station that I listen to that seems to not drop at all anymore (very rarely), another that does it once in a while, and a third that does it alot. atleast one of them is better lol
