  1. I don’t know how many people actually know about the product to actually shop around for one. I just happened to hear about it from guys at work. Will never own another truck without one. thanks appreciate feedback.

  3. For anyone interested... I asked C2airplay if it would work on my 20 Silverado 2500. They told me if my truck had “C Port” in the console, then it would not work. I confirmed I had C Port, but ALSO had regular hdmi port. They responded that it would still not work. Apparently the mere presence of the C Port makes it incompatible right now. I don’t know why, but that’s what they said. So anyone who has LTZ or HC, probably has issues with it. Hope this helps.
  4. I got 2 you can have for 50

  6. Owned 1 ford in between my 5 GMs. Column shifter way more comfortable for me, but probably because that’s what I’m most used to. Probably would make sense to make a keyless option if you want to pay for it. I would love to see GM come up with some kind of combination lock like my ford had. I used that all the time. Able to lock keys in truck while I went to gym or for a run or paddle boarding. I can use onStar, but still have to carry phone. That sucks when you go on water or for run.
  7. It’s for crew cab, 5’8 short bed. I actually had a mx4 as well, but returned it for this one.
  8. Does anyone know if there is a market for used covers? I have a Undercover Flex Ultra that I purchased in August. It’s a great cover, but I’m going the camper shell route for my dogs. It’s in perfect condition. Would $700 be a reasonable price? Since new ones cost around $800 if you get on sale.
  9. Ludasmith, I wouldn't recommend standing on the trip folds when the panels are laid across the bed. When the last 2 panels are folded on top of the front panel, you can stand on that. I had the MX4 and stood on it to wash the roof when it was folded on itself. I know the Backflip MX4 and Undercover Ultra Flex have the universal tailgate seals, that allow you to open and close the tailgate with the cover closed. Somebody above was selling the undercover ultra not too long ago.
  10. Thank you. Appreciate the reply
  11. This is dumb question.... I'm going to get the Borla 40359 muffler for my truck. I'm not sure if this applies to muffler swaps or the whole cat back replacement, but I hear you have to order GM model to get the flapper. Is the flapper in the muffler, or one of the resonators?
  12. Forgot I also have the Bakbox, fold away storage box. I Can't use that without the cover.
  13. For anyone interested in a Bakflip MX4.... I have a new job that requires me to get a camper shell on my truck, which sucks because I love this Bakflip. But now I can't use it, so if anyone is interested in a 5 month old cover in perfect shape for much lower price, send me a message and we can discuss it.
  14. I have mx4. Removes easy enough. Just 2 knobs you turn and remove. But takes more time putting it back on and making sure it's square. Not something you'd want to do often. I like the cover. Good security. Mine doesn't have a great seal. Water gets in during rains.
  15. bndawgs- Looks like water mainly coming in from corners. I can see where the water is running down the sides of bed. But it's not a lot. Definitely not enough to effect any luggage. I have spray in liner, that requires a foam seal be taped on top of bed at bulkhead. I probably didn't take enough care to make sure the seal went all the way to edges.
  16. Its been pouring out here for a while now. I have the MX4 from bakflip. Water has been getting in the bed, but not a huge amount. Considering I installed it myself, not sure if that's to be expected or if it was poor install job. Could also be that I park on uphill incline. Either way, it's not a lot of water. My priority was security and the ability to fold the cover, more than water tightness. With benefit of hindsight, I would still buy this cover. For my needs it's perfect. Still very solid and looks good. Just my experience for those of you that are looking for a water tight cover. Maybe double check with some other owners if water intrusion is a concern for you. These things aren't cheap, so you want to make sure you getting what you think you paid for.
  17. I've had great service from Bak so far. I'm sure they will get you your hardware real quick
  18. Ya the mx4 is attached to bed with those 2 knobs. Easy enough to take off when you have to, but I imagine it would get annoying to do on regular basis. Goes on and off quick, but takes a little time to square up. Guy in video does it really quick, but in reality it takes a little more time to put that back panel 1/8-1/4 of inch from tailgate. Then you have to keep it there while squaring it up on ur bed. Takes few minutes, Especially for those that are little anal and want it perfect. As for drain, that's there because it's not 100% water proof. There's little spots water can get in the rails/channels. All the low profile folding hard covers I saw, (undercover flex, bakflips, extang encore, etc) all have a channel and drain system. I don't even have the drain set up. Didn't use drain tube in my old flex and I never got water in the bed. This cover seems tighter than that one, so I'm not going to worry about it. Never keep anything that fragile in my bed anyways.
  19. What does service guy say when you tell him the other trucks on lot don't make that sound?
  20. Oooooh. I thought you were saying you didn't like the new universal seal feature. But now it makes more sense. Couldn't figure out why that new feature would have been a deterrent. Either way, I didn't think you saying anything negative bro. Someone on hear was debating between the revolver and mx4. You can probably explain the benefits of each, much better than I can. He would probably appreciate any insight you have on yours.
  21. To each their own. The ability to open and close the tailgate without touching the cover was a huge selling point for me. And water tightness wasn't an issue for me. That's the beauty of everyone having different wants and needs from their trucks and covers. If we all bought the same truck and accessories, it would be a pain in the ass to find yours in the parking lot.
  22. Bgweed, I saw the x2, but a roll up cover really wasn't on my radar, so I didn't do too much research into it. Looks like nice cover, but doesn't fit my personal taste. I wouldn't be diligent with cleaning and conditioning that vinyl, and I was concerned it would weather on me. And I personally like the look of the hard cover better. But if you like that vinyl look, that seems like a good option for you. In regards to the panels blocking the window. I thought about that too. But I came to the realization that if I needed to fold up the cover for a load, chances are whatever I was hauling would block my view anyways. Honestly I had an undercover flex on my last truck, and that was really a non issue. I'm the only one in my wife's family with a truck, so I get volunteered for moving duty all the time, and it hasn't been issue. Plus I like being able to fold up just 1 or 2 of the panels, instead of having the roll up cover all the way open or all the way closed. I think it just depends on what you want and need. Probably can't go wrong with either one.
  23. For anyone interested or looking at folding hard covers, I hope this helps... I just installed the Bakflip MX4, and it is a BEAST. The thing is so solid and so much thicker than my old Undercover Flex (not saying anything bad about Flex, I liked it too). Just taking it out of the box, it felt sturdy and solid. I was going back and forth between MX4 and G4 Elite. The main things I was looking for were security and ability to use the bed. Plus it looks awesome. The matte black aluminum looks real good on my black truck. It doesn't have that shiny fiberglass look. I would have no issue leaving something valuable in the bed while eating in restaurant or something like that. I would say that with any locking tailgate, pre-2016 Silverado, this cover would make the bed the most secure place in the vehicle. Still very secure in my 2016 also. Anyone wondering about the coat hanger issue, I saw that video too. I can't speak about the other Bakflips, but that is not an issue with the MX4. The rear panel is 1/2" thick (I think). When the panel is closed, the bottom of the panel sits below the top of the tailgate, and there is only a 1/8" gap between the tailgate and the panel. So if you stick anything between the cover and the tailgate, it will just hit the 1/2" panel. I'm going to say that the G4 Elite has a more secure locking mechanism, but after that I think the MX4 is the most secure folding hard cover out there right now. I only picked the MX4 over G4 was because I like the flush look better, and I need access to the whole bed on regular basis. It was very easy to install. I like the rail system it uses. The rails are L-shaped, so you just sit in on top of the bed cap and use the brackets to attach. Makes it much easier to keep the rail system level. When I installed the Undercover Flex, there was no L-shape, so had had to be careful to keep the height uniform along the bed. I really like being able to open and close the tailgate with the cover closed. I wish there was a way to open the cover from the cab, but that's probably impossible if you want to keep the ability to fold cover to access 100% of bed. I can't speak about water proof yet, but that's not huge concern for me. I don't put anything in the bed that vaporizes if it gets a tablespoon of water on it, just sports gear and luggage for the most part. If anyone is shopping, I hope this helps. I also recommend Tonneaucoversworld.com to purchase. They gave me a GREAT price on it, and they quickly handled a small issue I had with the cover. Can't say enough good things about their customer service, specifically Angela Sharr.
  24. I just picked up a 16 LTZ. Amazing difference between headlights in 16 vs my old 14. I got fooled a little by the window sticker. I assumed LED taillights meant ALL the rear lights were LED, but my reverse lights and plate lights are regular bulbs. Want to switch out them out for LED. Do I need Canbus LED bulbs? And can I switch out just the reverse bulb in the 3rd light housing above the cab, or do I need to replace the whole unit? Thanks
