  1. my 2020 the dash lights are on all the time no matter what time it is. and just like your truck they can not be adjusted in the day light, and just like your truck i can only adjust them when it turn the headlights on. i dont understand why the dash light are on in the day time
  2. np where you are you need all the heat you can get lol
  3. i know GM puts these stupid tires pressure stickers on trucks, but unless you are carrying weight in the box or towing all the time why would have higher pressures in the rear. i run 38psi in the front and 32 in the rear, put more in the rear if i am going to tow.
  4. if you are driving a 2007, you posted in the wrong forum. if your truck is 2019 and newer there is a tsb for this problem 2020 coolant flush.pdf
  5. running light is brown, reverse light green/white
  6. i did an oil change on the weekend and removed the plastic shields off the truck and discovered the turbo is leaking oil at the cooler connection
  7. but did GM let the cat out of the bag, if the first gen 2.7 is as tough as they say why did GM make a new reinforced block for the 2nd gen engine. to gain more boost they made a new block which might imply they know the first gen block is very limited for adding power by tuning. GM knew that it was only a matter of time before the tuners would have something for these engines. as Karnut said you have to know your limits, but as new as these engines are i dont think even the tuners know or care about limits until people the genie pigs test there product and they get feed back, which may end up positive or negative
  8. today while i was doing an oil change i decided to take the plastic covers off, looking at the hose from the turbo to the cooler there is oil leaking out of the hose connection. do you think this is a problem and would it be covered by the power train warranty
  9. i have a 2020 silverado with the 2.7, is it a v8 , no but i have been impressed with what this engine can do. i have 50k miles on mine and it has been problem free
  10. i think that GM actually did a decent job on my 2020 rst. are they great , no but a lot better than my 2014 which i did the same as kickass. the fog lights on the 2014 were much more functionable than my 2020. these fog light on the 2020 are just a joke, might look cool but they are junk.
  11. start with this and see if the bcm has the wires https://boostautoparts.com/products/high-spot. then you need to see if the door harness has the wires
  12. thats cool, you have discovered an other auto stop disable feature and gained a phone charger
  13. when i did my 2014 , i added the power fold switch and the mirrors worked. you only need the door harnesses if you want all the lights to work. i think the truck has to be a lt model or higher, wont work on work trucks
  14. nothing is pnp anymore , all modules are vin locked. check wams , they might have a solution.
  15. have you had the truck scanned for codes to see what actually is the problem
  16. depending on when your truck was built , you might have the sensor that fits a 2020. i would go back to auto zone and see if they have one for a 2020 to see if it is the same as what is in your truck
  17. 200 k miles and it is gone, my 2014 was at 189 k and other than the modes i did the only thing was a driveshaft and a rad. even the a/c still worked, but because of the stupid gas prices i got a used 2020 rst that they were asking 56 thousand for. as gas kept increasing the price kept dropping, when they agreed at 45 i bought the truck. my son still drives my 2014
  18. i hope pulling those fuses really works, i thought making a v8 a 4 cylinder was dumb but to make a 4 cylinder a 2 cylinder is got to be the dumbest thing gm ever did
  19. i know this not the answer, but my 2020 rst is the same way. i put a magazine on the dash to cover half of the defrost, it helps
  20. i wish all dealerships would adopt the procedure the dealership i use, when they have my truck they take pictures and send them to me. i dont know if they do this because they know i am a mechanic but it is great to see the evidence first
  21. dealer is correct, had the same problem when i bought takeoffs from a refresh 2022. i have a 2020
  22. on larger diesel engines this is a sign of a head gasket failure, air at the temp sender, so it is reading the casting temp not coolant, no heat is because the heater is being filled with air
  23. i am waiting for the 3rd boost gauge to arrive, first gauge was defective and the second gauge only goes to 15 lbs for boost. in the short time i have been monitoring , customboss might be right about developing boost, most of my driving is in the 50 to 55 mph range and at those speeds and level ground this engine is not using any boost and actually stays on the vacuum side of the gauge a lot. i am still waiting for the 3rd gauge to show up before i can be really sure. i am using mechanical gauges as there is no where to put an electrical sensor in the intake manifold
  24. if you dont express you get depressed lol thinking out loud is how thing get done. tomorrow i am going to look at how to install a boost gauge, i really want to know how this engine reacts in different situations
  25. thanks that good to know
