  1. It works perfectly. When I unlock the truck with my fob it lights up like a Christmas tree. Gonna be convenient when I'm loading or even sitting on the tailgate having a beer after a long day - just hit the fob and I've got light. Cheapest mod ever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Just gave my truck her first real wash, and about to start slapping some collinite on. I'll try and get some good pictures tonight when I'm done. I can't wait to see my brownstone paint smothered in wax. I'm in love with this color. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I ended up just using the cargo to reverse but used two diodes so it goes both ways. I didn't have a suitable wire that would fit in the holes and be strong enough to push in. I wanted my reverse lights on when my cargos are on so I can see what I'm doing behind the truck as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Okay thanks. In the wire diagram you posted a photo of the puddle lights are listed as a voltage supply line. In all the other diagrams for the other combinations, all the wire ports are listed as relays, not power supplies. That's what I was referring to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. For reverse and cargo you connect #26 in the brown harness (reverse lights) to #26 in the pink harness (cargo lights), with the band on the diode closest to the #26 wire in the pink harness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I have read through this thread three times and I still cannot tell if you actually did this successfully and/or anyone else has. I've also never seen it 100% clarified which wire port is the correct one for the puddle lamps. It looks like it's #8 on the white harness? What scares me is that out of all these similar diode mods, al the other wire connections being combined are relays, and the puddle lamp one you are suggesting looks to be a voltage supply. I really don't want to fry anything. Right now I have the reverse lights firing the cargo lights, but am debating if I would prefer the puddle lights to power the cargo's, because I can manually turn on the cargo lights when in reverse by design (2015). Can you or anyone confirm the puddle lights are on the white harness and hole #8? And is it okay to perform this mod on a voltage supply line? I am using 3AMP diodes. Also, just curious, are they any laws about having cargo type lighting on when reversing? I don't want to get my balls busted,
  7. Did the diode reverse + cargo light mod. Now my cargo lights turn on when in reverse and when I unlock the truck with the fob. Love it!!! Gonna be great for the moments when you need to check your load and have the keys in your pocket or when hanging out by the truck and want to add some light without climbing in. Also seems to help a little bit with adding vision when using the back up camera. I fall more in love with this truck everyday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. You guys are awesome man. I just did this mod to my 2015 LTZ Silverado and it worked like a charm. I am kind of anal as well as cautious (truck has 400 miles on it) so it took me about ten minutes to do. My biggest concern was damaging the existing wires while shoving in the diode. The install went exactly as the OP explained, copied again below for those that don't feel like re-readin all the threads. Reverse Light Relay Wire - Brown Plug - Number 26 - Brown wire with Blue Stripe Cargo Light Relay Wire - Pink Plug - Number 26 - Brown wire with white stripe When installing the diode, the stripe on the diode should be closest to the Cargo Light Wire. Works like a charm. When you use the fob to unlock the doors, the reverse lights turn on as normal, but your 3rd brake light cargo light and truck bed led cargo lights (if installed) turn on as well. This is excellent for when you need to quickly check your cargo without having to get in the truck and push the cargo light button - simply hit the unlock button on your fob. I love this mod!!! I may decide to use a wire instead of a diode so that the cargo lights turn on when in reverse, but in my 15 I can turn them on if I wish while in reverse so I think I'll leave it so I have the option of having them on or not.
  9. I've never painted over Fluid Film, but would have to agree, I can't see spray paint sticking to an area treated with Fluid Film. Plus, with Fluid Film you do need to re-apply periodically. It's water resistance and lasts a good while, but it's not permanent. I'm not sure I'd bothering even trying to paint over an area I treated with FF.
  10. After reading through this thread I started looking under my new silverado to see what condition it is in, and so far it looks good. I noticed that the entire frame seems to be coated in a soft, somewhat tacky, black paint-like material. Looking at the pictures above it seems like they either come with this coating from the factory now or that the dealership already applied the TSB. I have a 2015 Silverado LTZ. Also, I was planning on spraying my frame and underbody parts with Fluid Film. Should I wait until this coating comes off? I don't want to mess up this coating if it's intended to protect against rust. It definitely doesn't seem like something that will last too long. If you pick at it with a fingernail it comes off. I am thinking for now I'll just apply fluid film to exposed metal parts and wait until this coating wears off before spraying my frame. For anyone with rust issues, here is the link to fluid film - this is just a normal aerosol spray can - a 3-pack for under $40: http://www.amazon.com/Fluid-Film-11-75-Spray-3-pak/dp/B00B93ZXGS/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1442664296&sr=1-1&keywords=fluid+film They also have a complete underbody kit - this comes with a sprayer and everything you need to completely coat your underbody for $100 and free shipping. http://www.amazon.com/Fluid-Undercoating-Gallon-bottles-everything/dp/B0048770KE/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1442664180&sr=1-1&keywords=fluid+film+undercoating+kit
  11. Definitely won't hurt to start using it. It's supposed to stop rust from spreading as well as prevent it. It worked wonders on 1992 craftsman lawn mower I bought, as well as kept my jeep looking pretty good for the three years I had it. I'll be spraying the frame on my new Silverado once or month or so. 12. Any of you guys use Fluid Film for rust prevention? It's big in the farming industry for protecting tractor parts. I believe the primary ingredient is lanolin. I just picked up a brand new Silverado LTZ tonight and plan on using Fluid Film to help protect my frame. It worked great on my Jeep. Can be found on Amazon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
