    There was a TSB that came out around 2016 ~ 2017 for the tranny flush and replacement with Mobil 1 Blue Strip I think it was. I had it done for tranny shudder problem which it fixed. It also reduced but did not eliminate low speed hard shift problem between 1st and 2nd. For some, torque converter replacement was necessary to eliminate shudder. About vibration problems; I not aware of any single fix for that. If you read back through the hundreds of posts you find the root cause blamed on virtually every part on the truck. I don’t think it was ever eliminated from this generation truck which is 2014 ~ 2020 or thereabouts.

    wow, haven’t looked at this for a few years. The first post on this thread was August 4th, 2013. Now, 854 posts later still hammering away at same’o same’o problems and none-solutions.

    Yeh, there’s a TSB that’s been out awhile calling for three flushes with Mobil 1 Blue Stripe tranny fluid, filter change, reprogramming. Some folks have had good luck with this. I had it done on my 2015 8 spd, helped some but not completely. But, your dealer will probably want to try this before changing your torque converter. Sorry to learn the slow speed shift problem still exists. Should’ve been corrected by your 2018.

    I had the TSB performed on my 2015 eight speed tranny with the prescribed Mobile 1Blue Stripe tranny fluid, three flushes, drive, reprogram, etc. worked ok for awhile but gradually started making those low speed/gears hard shifts again. But, problem wasn’t as bad as originally I must say. However, I now do a little trick that I got off this thread awhile back, which is; Every few days When I make my first drive of the day I start off in Manual mode and run the tranny through the gears up and down, usually 1st, 2nd, 3rd. I have to go through three or four stop signs to get to the highway. Anyway, tranny will make low speed shifts smoothly for a few days. Personally, I think the low speed hard shift problem could probably be handled by reprogramming the tranny to start off in 2nd gear unless in Tow Mode. Some high end sports cars have programmed their trannys to take off in 2nd gear unless in Sport Mode. Btw, did some research on a comment upstream that there’s a class action suit underway. From what I’ve read it’s a dead issue. Ain’t nothing gonna happen. ?...

    Hmm, almost sounds like the high speed death wobble usually associated with solid axle kingpin setups such as Jeep. Harleys had the problem back when they used spoke wheels. Being there’s several possibilities that could be your root cause I agree with those who suggest going to a good front end shop. Good luck and let us know ?

    Agree. I’ve had a similar experience. Turned out I threw the weights off a front wheel. Btw, been running Michelin Defenders as well. IMO, best tire out there for trucks. Actually, run Michelin’s on all my vehicles. Haven’t had a bad experience with them yet.

    Well, the way I see it you’ve got nothing to lose except some time if the weld doesn’t hold. I would recommend though, being the material is thin that you try brazing. And, be careful you don’t burn up the metal you’re brazing or welding. Btw, I’m no expert, my experience is limited to welding and brazing farm equipment on my grandfathers farm which was heavy duty stuff and pretty forgiving to amateurs. ?

    Being this generation, 2014 - 2019, will soon be two generations back in history, GM has zero interest in remediation. They’re focused on the upcoming generation. They’re in a Klingon Death Match with Ford and Ram. Along with gas/diesel technology, theres hybrids and EV’s to deal with will cost mountains of money to develop and bring in-line. Sorry...

    Tell you a funny story about my 6.2. Not long after I bought it I decided to take it out on the interstate and see what it would do. So, chose a stretch of road that was nice and straight with no traffic and put the petal to the metal. Well, my bad ass 6.2 took of like a striped ape.clicked through the numbers on the speedo at a rapid rate. So, as it approached 100 mph I’m thinking Wow, I’m thinking this this thing might do 120 mph or more. Then... the speedo hit 98 mph and the truck speed flattened out and would do no more. So, I’m wondering what the heck just happen. Big disappointment; big bad @$$ engine won’t even do 100? Well, you know the rest of the story. Come to find out the truck has a speed limiter set at 98 mph ?. I since found out that youngsters often buy a tuner and remove the speed limiter setting. But, being old and such never bothered ?...

    You and I have traveled similar paths when it comes to cars; I’ve been driving a truck since 1975. Bought a brand new standard cab long bed with in-line 6 engine. Had am radio and dealer installed AC. Everything else was standard, 3 on the tree, no power anything. During the oil embargo hung a twenty gal saddle tank on the right side. Drove the piss out of that truck.

    Lol, well, “knock on wood”. I don’t have a shaker. My big aggravation is the low speed hard shift between 1st and 2nd. The recommended TSB helped but didn’t totally eliminate the problem. But, back on topic; while a mid-size would take care of my needs same as you, I’m a big guy and thereby prefer a full-size truck. And, as you pointed out there’s little if any economic advantage in driving the smaller truck. Btw, I have the 6.2 and it tows my 6,000 lb TT great. And, mileage is good too.
