  1. From the album: Ravenkeeper's 2018 Chevy Silverado LTZ Z71 (4WD) Midnight Edition

Reinstalled my 2x12 to haul all of my expired/empty HazWaste.

  2. Reverse looks the same on the display with the light bar. Even with LEDs in the reverse bulbs, it still looks pixelated.
  3. That's my original plan, plus adding an additional set of USBs on the other side of the pocket.

Note: Brake lights on tailgate light bar glowing on the bumper.

    Tailgate Light Bar

I cut the original 4-Pin connector and the reverse wire down to same length and threw away the connector, then spliced on a 5-Pin connector. Wrapped the harness with a plastic electrical conduit. Then installed it on my truck. I had previously turned a 7 to 5 harness to a 7 to 5 & 4 harness, different write-up. I did that in preparation of my Tailgate Light Bar, and to free up my 7 & 4 connectors on the bumper. My Tow Hitch Tail/Brake Light (Bully CR-007A) is connected to the 4-Pin on that harness, and my Tailgate Light Bar is on the 5-Pin. My Tow Hitch Tail/Brake Light use to have a tail light function, but I removed it. I already have a write-up for my Tow Hitch Tail/Brake Light mod.

  8. Saturday, I put the 2x12 back in the bed of my truck, and made a HazWaste run.

    7-Pin to 5-Pin AND 4-Pin Harness

I did this harness in preparation of the installation of my Tailgate Light Bar, and to free up my 4-Pin on my trailer connection cluster. I wanted to clean it up, I didn't like using the trailer 4-pin for my Tow Hitch Tail/Brake Light.
  10. From the album: 7-Pin to 5-Pin AND 4-Pin Harness

I took a 7-to-5 harness and added a 4-Pin connector to it. I did this particular modification to clean up the back of my truck, didn't like the 4-Pin and 1ft extension running up thru the license plate slot and being plugged into the trailer 4-Pin spot, AND to prepare for the installation of my Tailgate Light Bar. The 4-Pin is laying under the 5-Pin. Each of the four "fat spots" are where I spliced in a different wire for the 4-Pin, I don't remember which one at which point. It was easy, just had to match wire colors. I may add photos from this mod later.

  11. I went to Universal Studios Hollywood, shortly after I reset it, and as I was looking at the Back To The Future Delorian, I thought "if it were only real." I kind of figured as much. I already did that, during the next fill up.
  12. Are you sure that the motor is engaging the regulator? Maybe soap/silicone the tracks, if it were hanging up along the travel.
  13. I've been only resetting TRIP A when I refuel, and leaving TRIP B alone, was leaving it alone, tracking all miles & "MPG". I inadvertently reset my TRIP B, one night after I filled up my truck, not too long ago. Is there a way to undo the reset?
  14. I looked into that a couple years ago, supposedly (and unfortunately), there are NO tonneau covers that work with any sport bars or backracks. I was looking into the OEM Sport Bar and Tonneau Cover combo. HOWEVER, I just found this video with an OEM Sport Bar....
  15. Also, it is not so much AC as it is just a fan in the seat moving air through it.
  16. From the album: Tailgate Light Bar

I had ran the harness first, and before I adhered it to the truck bed, I tested it. I took photo#2 after I had it fully installed.

Routed the connector over above the tow package/receiver.

  18. From the album: Tailgate Light Bar

There's a "box" made in the frame, under the left brake light. That's where I stored most of my harness for the light bar.

Light Bar installed, 5-Pin Connector will fit through opening under left end of tailgate.

  20. From the album: Tailgate Light Bar

Cut away 4-Pin, cut reverse wire to same length, spliced on 5-Pin connector with solder heat-shrinks. Wrapped wires with plastic conduit. Splice setup for this particular project: Light Wires Function Plug Wires Red Reverse Blue Green Right/Brake Green Yellow Left/Brake Yellow White Tail Light Brown Blue Ground White I liked this better than splicing into the left tail/brake light harness.

  21. I had one running in my '15 Silverado, then it got totaled, and I haven't completely set it up in my '18 Silverado ME. I'm trying to find an antenna cable that I can route like the one that was left in my '15, after the wreck. PLUS, I'm not quite sure where I want to put the radios in my '18, yet, will either be INSIDE my center console box, or I may convert the forward section to a 14-15. Also, I tried using my CB with my home antenna and I'm pretty sure that either my mic or my radio is broken, BUT my scanner works like a champ. The cupholder in the 14-15 could be moved all the way forward (like below), all the way back (like 16+ are), or halfway inbetween. All the way forward exposed a DEEP pocket for my radios and bracket to sit. With the tunneau cover, I had to mount the antenna on a stakehole bracket, extended to the outside. I got tired of laying the mic in the pen tray at the front of the console, so I did some looking, and found that Steelie's/Nite-Ize's little magnet was the perfect fit to the knob on the back of the mic, and I could use their vent clip to hang the mic on.
  22. Haven't driven mine in 3-4 weeks, might have to drive mine tomorrow and run it through the wash during my lunch.
  23. That's what I did on my Civic, but I have a painted XM antenna that I want to put on my truck while I'm installing the dashcam. Probably should have stated that.
  24. I'm fixing to install my VanTrue N4 (forward, cabin, & rear), soon. I just need to tear my cab up just a little bit to route everything. The only hard part, that I see, is getting into the fuse box and the headliner. I threw our Uniden "Witness" ($60) into our son's (use to be daughter's) Civic, took 10 minutes to route the USB cable to the DC outlet. The only downside is that every 45-60 seconds it saves the last 45-60 seconds of video to the card and misses about 0.5-1.0 seconds each time. BUT, this was our "use everywhere we go" dash cam. Shortly after getting this vehicle (April 2021), my daughter got sideswiped getting onto the highway and changing lanes to pass the SLOW truck that got onto the highway in front of her. B!TCH stopped, tried blaming my daughter, and left the scene (when her friend/co-pilot noticed that they left paint transfer on our Civic). Even CHP speculated that they were doing 100 coming out of the construction zone (single lane, both directions, 55, NO PASSING, for 10 miles), and that's why my daughter never saw them until they collided. (Beside the point: It also happened on my daughter's first day on the job at BJ's, and the manager(s) were impressed, she didn't act like she was in an accident, and it was her 21st birthday weekend.) HINT: Whether or not if you have a dashcam, take photos of the other vehicle(s) and driver(s), when you're in an accident (even if you're at fault) OR if you witness one (they may be shaken up enough to not think about it).
  25. My kids are both adults, BUT what I have done in the past is set up a laptop for them to watch movies, with the sound piped into the stereo. I've lost count how many movies the the kids have watched and I have only heard. When they got older, I bought a y-jack and headphones for them to listen to their movies, while I (finally) got to listen to my music. They make a iPad/tablet holder that can be suspended between the front seats. Anymore, when my kids are with us on road trips, they use their phones/tablets to watch whatever or play video games. Last road trip, my son got back into Pokemon Go, and somehow, conquered a couple gyms while we were still moving down the highway.
