I've noticed lately that when filling the truck's diesel tank the fuel gauge will stick for awhile and then suddenly jump up to catch up. Today, when the nozzle clicked off to indicate the tank was full, the indication still showed 1/8 tank to go. I went ahead and paid and left and as I drove the needle finally worked its way to the full indication. First time it really stuck and took awhile to finally indicate. This is on my 2016 GMC 2500HD Sierra Denali 4x4. Diesel, as mentioned. The fuel gauge is one of those graphics generated gauges, not a mechanical one on the dash. Anyway, any thoughts on this? It used to go up so smoothly now it seems the sticking is getting worse over the last year or less. Is there something I can add to the fuel tank that might help clean the sensor and get that indication back to smooth flowing again? Thanks for any help.

I don't know how I missed it before, but I re-read the diesel supplement that came with my truck and sure enough it can use B20.

Hello, Tried to find a post like this. No luck. Anyway, we have a 2016 2500HD Sierra Denali with Duramax. I've religiously only used #2 diesel but am wondering if B20 is a problem for those motors? Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Travis, yeah both sharkfin leak repairs and any work related to it including RCDLR was covered under warranty. -
Remote lock and unlock problem...

Hi Travis. Yes, this fixed the problem and there have been no issues since. The sharkfin antenna did leak one more time but it came through in a slightly different spot so no electrical issues because of it and the dealer must have really sealed it well this last time because it hasn't leaked since. -
None of these things will prevent the problem OP is reporting. Not using a pressure washer *might* delay the peeling but it's going to happen anyway. This is a problem with the paint not adhering to the base metal. I can't believe this is still happening. We had an 80s Suburban that did this! Yes, this has been going on for 30+ years and it's evident GM has no intent to fix it at the factory level. I was washing my 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali the other day and noticed several chips in the paint already. I just can't believe it. I'll be contacting them soon to, at least, get the complaint on file for when the real peeling starts.

Add a Nikon 16-80 f2.8-4 to the stable. Got it for Christmas. I think it's going to take the 18-70's place as my daily driver. -

No pics but I washed all the bugs off the grille of the truck and the front of our trailer that accumulated on our 1200 mile camping trip. Man, that was a lot of bugs. -

Towed our Arctic Fox 22G 210 miles today. 270 more miles tomorrow to attend the Northwood RV rally in La Grande, OR. Pic taken at a rest stop along the way. -
Thanks. Also, these are 5/8" ones and they slid in real easy.
-
Got my new quick links installed. I think I'm going to like this better than the other setup. Trailer is at the dealer for some warranty work so I'll be giving these a try when going to pick it up.
-
Yeah, it looks like I'll be going with the 5/8" links too. The eyebolt is an interesting idea for the brake cable. Does the safety cable just slide through the slight open end of the eyebolt?
-
Yup, very different. The "up" holes (in your pic) in the 16 are about the diameter of a pencil. The holes on either side of the receiver are also smaller. Believe me, if it had been as simple as your pic makes it look, I wouldn't be asking for ideas.
-
Thanks for the pics and hook info. I can see why your setup works easily. The holes in your hitch are way bigger than on mine. That's been the trick. Finding something small enough, yet strong enough, to fit.
-
Can you provide a link to the hooks you ended up getting? Based on what you have said about other suggestions, your hooks must meet all your criteria so I'd be interested in checking out the same ones you got. Thanks.
-
When you use that type of hook, after placing the chain in the short part of the "S" do you then hammer (or some method) it closed around the chain?
-
1. Those quick links are rated stronger than the chains coming from the trailer. 2. Yet another reason to get rid of those chains. It looks like I'll have better and stronger quick links here in the near future so that bit of chain will go away.
-
Yeah, I noticed that when I checked out your thread. I've also found a long version of the 9/16 and have also found 5/8 so now all I need to do is order. LOL Thanks on the truck. Yours is too.

Well, I could keep spinning my wheels trying different things or I can come here, ask a simple question and it's likely someone has experienced the same thing and found something that works that isn't what I have already. Seems Crankman has the simple solution I was looking for.
-
Crankman, thanks. I had tried 1/2" but didn't try 9/16". I'll see if I can find some and give them a try.

We aren't a big fan of the hitch setup on our 2500HD in regards to attaching the safety chains for our Arctic Fox 22G trailer. As you can see in the pics, the hooks are too big for the rather odd hitch hole arrangement. Even if I were to remove the little latch on the hook it still won't quite go through the holes. So, the dealer came up with the smaller chain and quick link type solution so we can attach the safety chains. I guess I don't like the added length from this setup. I really don't want to drill more holes or grind on the existing ones. I've tried a bigger quick link by itself but it won't go all the way around and through both holes. This GMC hitch setup is just weird. I've looked at a little bit smaller hooks for the safety chains but then they won't fit all the way through on the hitch. Maybe I just haven't found the right hook yet? Anyone else run into this problem and what solution did you come up with that you are satisfied with?
