  1. I got a Safelite windshield in a 2008 4Runner. Once. Never again. I paid labor but insisted they credit the cheap glass that distorted in the side view. Damn awful. A local glass shop should be able to provide a quality glass product almost as inexpensivey with OEM quality optics.
  2. If you had red pants, would you wear yellow and black socks? No, I'm thinking. I don't think this will finish your look. And I'm seriously assuming no one on this forum really has red pants. I do have some yellow and black Batman socks though...
  3. Wife said today: if your transmission can't be fixed, at about 35k miles you need to trade this truck in...
  4. I had a tasteful pinstripe, no note of it on the window sticker, ultimately removed it. Glad I did but still appreciated what it looked like when it was there. It wasn't a straight line, but MOL followed the sheet metal lines at the A pillar, turning up over the metal Z71 4x4 emblem and continued across the tailgate. I felt a little guilty about removing it...
  5. Ok, off topic just a little, but GM didn't copy Ford's tailgate step for bed access. The recessed step pads in the bumper work much better, less expensive, lighter than the Ford contraption. But they're so distinctive in appearance, no one can copy them. Things that are hidden u dear gas flaps are fair game I guess. I have a '16 with the prehistoric screw-on cap and tether. Now that many of the gas stations in my area have removed the little ratchet stop for the gas dispenser, my gas cap serves that purpose completely. In this case, I think I have the better option.
  6. GM needed some means to distinguish the new model year trucks. This, and some of the other observations posted here are most likely I would guess. As far as GM forgetting the farmer/rancher/working population (referenced above, no quote), that's what Hillary did and you see what that got her...
  7. You are an anomaly.
  8. I assume or hope everyone is calculating this manually, not relying on the not-so-accurate DIC...
  9. There had to be a stationary object in front of the truck to have rolled the two frame rails. Even then, this is pretty improbable. But if so, the aluminum vs steel argument is pointless. When God says He's ready for ya, titanium/carbon fiber ain't gonna help. Back to...I think this is someone's creative work...
  10. Ok. My dealership is a credible, but small town outfit. Now that I have the opportunity (maybe that should be in quotation marks?) to visit again soon because of the recall, I will ask.
  11. There appears to be some flexibility to affect at least the baseline from which elcamino'spost indicates takes place. That I was asked and responded 7500 doesn't appear to conflict. I may have asked for the max they would have allowed. Karnut's post indicates similarly. My first oil change was at 2200 miles and it appeared to have been calibrated to give me 6000 miles to 0%. That was dealership syn blend and I'm not driving in extreme duty conditions, except it is summer... I have 100% personal confidence that 5w-20 Mobil1 full synthetic in my engine with my driving requirements - for 7500 miles - is absolutely fine.
  12. NOTE: I had my oil changed this week and told the #2 advisor I wanted full synthetic. She said the dealership used a syn blend but I said for the $25 up charge I wanted to run full syn. She said ok then a few minutes later came into the waiting room and asked how many miles I wanted the OLM set to to indicate my change interval. Um, 7500. Ok. Done.
  13. What is a "flaring condition?"
  14. I have to wonder with all the searching, jerking, hesitating and jerking again what the hell its doing to my drivetrain life cycle.
  15. What are some budgetary numbers...?
