  1. Ok. Just be aware. It may be something more specialized than just a tint. I’m sure there are others here that will know for sure. I may be wrong but hate to see you do something that might ultimately be worse.
  2. I had this issue (with another or three) with my first ‘16. Repeated visits. It’s finally what caused me to trade it. I told the dealership it was endangering others, me and my employment if it occurred when I was in the service of my employer. OP is NOT making this up.
  3. Is that merely a tint or the photoreactive material that darkens when hit by headlights from the rear? Will it work if covered in standard window tint?
  4. The brake controller is worth $275 to GM. A blank panel is worth $0. A hole with a little rubber mat allows them to advertise ‘tremendous storage compared to competitors.’ That’s worth at least $50. I had a 2wd. Never placed a thing there. But I’ve had my brake controller since November. Never used it yet either.
  5. With just a little more practice, you could save a bunch of money. When you can chunk 14 of 15 beer cans out that little window, you’ll be set.
  6. Well hell, who did your oil change?!?
  7. I put a 2” level on my first two ‘16 Sierras, then stock Firestone Destination AT tires. I don’t have a pic but thought the appearance improvement was significant. I don’t want noise/loss of efficiency/higher costs that come from installing larger tires. Ive not done my ‘18 yet, but probably will. Dealership has done the level & alignment.
  8. It happened to me about 25 years ago. Toyota Cressida. Parked in the carport. I was pitching golf balls with a wedge from one section of my yard to another. I mis-hit one I cranked. Bottom left corner. It was spectacular. Took almost 10 minutes to finally collapse in to the rear deck. Enough time to go in and get a towel to catch most of it.... idiot.
  9. The State of California published a number of driver safety videos some years ago, I can’t recall the titles but they all contained the word “asphalt.” Crimson Asphalt or something like that. shockers. Real video shots from first responders. The benefit to some is apparently real. I still remember seeing a couple of them...
  10. That’s ‘cause they’re made of tin foil.
  11. Different but similar, I share only in case your ending mimics mine. In the day, my little daughter dropped a plastic Easter egg in the port on the back of one of my Klipsch speakers. It required professional removal.
  12. OP - you can get an adequate quality infrared game camera for about $50 from Academy/Dicks/etc. SD card download to your phone/computer. Your question will be answered.
  13. I’ve got an ‘18 and CarPlay doesn’t work nearly as well as my ‘16s. I’ve wondered if an update was called for. How might I know? Go to the dealer and ask?
  14. Really? My TV has CNN and PBS (publicly funded). Winter, you’re short sighted by making this comment. Hell, I have NBC and ABC too, now that I think about it. “Nut job.”
  15. Of course. Thx
  16. I use the “auto fold” only on occasion but I bought I’ve seen them go back into place upon putting the truck in reverse. Am I wrong?
  17. So my '16 2wd would be less of a hassle? How so? I'd like to add...
  18. Thank you! Holy cow. This DOES NOT have my name (or wallet) written on it. If done by a local body shop, what's an anticipated labor cost? I see chrome hooks on eBay in the $130-150 range.
  19. I have a 2wd that does not have tow/recovery hooks. Should I purchase a set, I assume the install would be as indicated above but to include careful trim out of the below-bumper moulding. Is that correct? If so, should be pretty simple. Nice documentation. Thanks.
  20. Any chance there's a disclaimer in the tiny print at the bottom of the coupon?
  21. I'll tell you the safety issue. Taking it to the dealer four times for this exact issue. Yes I was able to make it stop. Unexpected, sudden occurrence. Significant effort, not nominal. Sometimes in much less than ideal conditions (read: crowded parking lot in rain, positioning to park on an incline...) I wanted it fixed. Dealer ultimately traded me out - '16 for a '16 - special consideration, but no specific allowance for my concern. As in, the next guy could have gotten the same deal. Yes I lost money even as I realize my vehicle isn't an investment. I couldn't stand the risk - especially as I couldn't get a diagnosis. Now, it's a recognized issue. I'm glad for y'all.
  22. Would any of you (us) consider installing one and relying on manual operation? i.e., skip the complicated wiring and just install the glass. I assume there's a way to manually open/close...
  23. Did I ask my dealer and was told $1600? I'd like this option but can't recall. Was I told it could be done for this amount?
  24. Ya get what ya pay for. Almost 100% of the time. There are some things that don't justify the sacrifice - visual acuity/safety is clearly one of those. The product is sub par IMHO. Good luck.
