  1. Progress is good. Pretty soon she will be seeing things you wish she didn't. You go girl!
  2. Every once in awhile I watch a team do something incredibly silly. Like Buffalo firing Sean McDermott. Weird final four setup. Lot's of late drama. Kaleb goes full rookie on his final play of the season. Rams win a game then should not have. Bronco's loose there top gun and are starting a guy who hasn't had a start in nearly two years. Seems reasonable to me then the Seahawks and Pat's are the final pair and if they are my bet is the Seahawks take home the cake. IF however, on the odd chance the Ram's win then the Pat's will as well. Yea, I'm not thinking the Bronco's have a chance in this. But if they do the Seahawks will make them wish they hadn't and a Broncos Rams match I might not even watch.
  3. Texan's implode. Bears choke. Denver breaks a leg and Rams have a solid chance having spit a pair with the Seahawks this season, both games two points or less. Pat's look like they matter to a three legged horse.
  4. After watching the Seahawks dismantle the 49'ers last night I don't think it will matter who wins the Bears/Rams game. Texas and the Pat's ought be worth a watch. Either is a match for the Bronco's IMO. This pot needs to stay on simmer. Just say'n.
  5. Sounds like she has a good team and a good partner. Speedy recovery.
  6. A story is told as a joke is a thing told by an individual to a crowd for a laugh. When the crowd is telling the story it's a belief system. I like a good 'two drink minimum' routine as much as anyone. This ain't that. And sir, I didn't come up with the idea: Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who say that good is bad and bad is good, Those who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, Those who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
  7. Today $2.49
  8. An alligator is wearing a green suit and shades. I laugh and remark on how difficult it must be for the gator to dress himself and comment so. Everyone knows what an alligator is and yet fully half the respondents will declare it to be a kangaroo. Will rasp on for pages in some ridiculous irrational attempt to 'Say a thing in to Truth'. Create 'new' science, redefine natural law.... Attempts to discredit anyone who plainly sees the gator (truth)...Very popular these days in all circles. Figures don't lie but liars figure and if you can't tell the difference it's felt that it's worth promoting for who know what reasons. I am no longer interested in exploring those irrational reasonings. That's some serious cray-cray.
  9. I never followed up on this. They were able to extract the PID for the CVT temperature and then created a software update to include the change. It works flawlessly and has been quite instrumental in tuning the CVT cooling system.
  10. Yesterday I drove through Rochelle in route to Mendota and on the trip down regular 87 was $2.52. When I returned three hours later is was $2.89.
  11. Added some grill covering and added a few gauges to the Scan Gauge III to monitor progress. Chemical Injector Service (RL SI-1) First UOA to follow shows a 33.33% reduction in fuels to a very manageable 1.4%. This did not restore viscosity nor reduce wear metals even on a slightly shorter OCI. That is disappointing. Also confirmed multiple changes in Red Line Euro Spec chemistry. Need to adjust my OCI schedules. I reached out to Red Line....crickets. Since Dave retired this two way street we had for thirty years has turned one way. I will have a VOA run on the two new cases I just bought. Reached out to some fellas with more experience with Mitsubishi for cold weather tips and tricks and learned a few useful facts. Adjust grill block to raise inlet temps to run between 60 and 90 F. The converter doesn't lock up until CVT fluid temperatures reach 50 C and the fuel map doesn't go full lean until 122 F. (2500 stall) Not motor friendly when water temperatures are under 85 F so let it idle until the water is at least 85 F, prefer 100 F and be easy on her until the CVT hits 50 F. Add a block heater (on order) Even without the block heater observing their advice and adding grill block has already greatly improved cold weather fuel efficiency. Guys in Canada run pan heaters.
  12. Nail on the head. Not everyone that snores has apnea. A study is required.
  13. Cauliflower Mashed Potatoes Floret one head of cauliflower and dice the stem and core. Toss the greens. Steam for 12 to 15 minutes. Toss in a food processor with a quarter stick of salted butter and a quarter cup of half/half. (half cup cream cheese optional) Blend smooth. (leave a little texture) Salt and pepper to taste and serve with a pat of butter. Enjoy. Cauliflower has more water than potatoes so easy on the added liquid. Variation without cream cheese taste allot like potatoes and has a much lower glycemic index. Cheaper, healthier and one of the few substitutes that are taste wise is nearly identical. Let me know if you disagree. Mineral and vitamin wise superior. Prep and cook time a fraction of potatoes. Depending on your knife skills, front to back in roughly 30 minutes. Quicker with an induction range.
  14. Point set and match. . When I retired I removed my watch and got rid of the alarm by the bed. Calendars are everywhere. Dad had a rule when I was home. If a call takes more than three minutes then go meet face to face. We played baseball not Grand Thief Auto. Sun on the face not screen glow.
  15. Funny story. I left Denver heading home to Illinois in the late 70's in a 76 Ford Granada 351W. I-80 across Nebraska was hideous. I'd find out later that minutes after getting on the Interstate it would be closed behind me for most of it length across this state. I can hardly see the ordainment on the hood. But I could see, faintly, the taillights of the Semi ahead of me. We were crawling along at something under 45 mph but moving, plowing through drifts and bouncing over iced tire tracks. I thought, "I'll get off at the next available exit and get a room". Until then not loosing these taillights seemed the best idea. About a hour passes, I'm whipped and white knuckled and this guy is going slower and slower and slower. Finally he comes to a dead stop and turns on the flashers. RATTTTTS. I don't see him get out but I see the flare when he lights it so I get out and walk toward it. He's curious as to my need to follow so close so I explain. He starts laughing his butt off. "Look North" he smiles. I hang my head and laugh in disbelief. We are about a 100 yards away from the Interstate in the middle of a hayfield. Looking back it felt smoother than the road. I love Bridgestone Blizzak tires.
  16. If that is indeed how you see God then I understand why you take the position you have. No one responds well to spiteful jealous narcissistic people. May I ask how you came to this conclusion? Tell ya what, I'm taking you off 'ignore' for a bit. Seems fair as I am asking for the exchange. Feel free to PM me if that feels more appropriate or safer.
  17. Then Atlas, I submit that you are looking at the wrong part of humans and the natural world in general. Sorry @Johnnyquick. Proxy fire.
  18. When you think engineers know best always
  19. My wife forced upon me her old middle single digit I Phone retiring my compact flip so she could buy a double digit I Phone. My old phone was a phone and camera and did texting...period. My new phone allowed some applications to be added and I have, a few. It connected to my new car and provided maps, weather and a few widgets. I still carry paper maps, read the sky and enjoy the silence one seeks when plagued with tinnitus. Coolest feature of the new phone was a spam blocker that sort of added itself. Instead of dozens a day its two or three a month. Oh and voice to text which never sends what I said. Wife's phone added little practical features that I was interested in except a bit better picture quality and fewer dead zones although we have the same plan. That one is curious and yes, they tell me if I buy a new phone it will improve. It's not that big a problem to spend that kind of money on. Her work phone is Apples latest and greatest and has more bells a whistles that I could ever imagine useful. It is also in constant nonstop alert mode for one thing or another or updating this or that right when you need to use it. LOL My 2015 Chevy truck still has hand cranks and a CD player and while I have a tablet and landline I still use a very old PC with the newest software, firewalls and blockers. Works better than my phone. Bank in person too. It's two miles down the road and there's a great bar and grill next door. Can't get atmosphere delivered Door Dash. I miss the simplicity of my 64 Malibu SS and mechanical tuner black and white Zenith TV and listening to Jack Benny and The Shadow on AM radio. Oh I like watching the games on Sunday on the new big screen but not real fond of the hundred a month to feed that pig. With a landline and no voice messaging, stay outdoors and there isn't any spam. Coolest gadget I've bought in the last 30 years is my Linear Logic Scan Gauge III I find, in my case, the simpler the eye, the cheaper life is. Less stressful too. I'm good.
  20. Rained all day with temps in the 50's. Then tornado warnings. Tornado touchdown south of us. Now 35 to 50 mph winds until tomorrow night. Temps head to the basement, -22F windchill right now and temps to go 8 degrees colder in a few hours. Quite a mix. Cape Horn weather. LOL
  21. I didn't know where else to put this.... "Train Dreams" Now playing on Netflix. It's an incredible film. Not many of those anymore. It has Depth. No arcade action here.
  22. Ya gotta keep moving sir. At our age we are like sharks in the water. Swim or...... Dad yells at his PT gal, "Are ya trying to make me twenty again"? "No sir" she replied, "just ninety five when you could walk to the bathroom and pull up your own pants". I know you have allot going against that right now but you have to move.... I've been to that point where you crawl across the floor for a chair to pull yourself upright. Took awhile. It hurt. I was sore. But I can get up quite well now and back in the shop. Crawl under the truck. Even carried a few 50# bags of salt to the basement this week. It can be done. Respect your limits but push them enough to get their attention. Be careful.
  23. 450,000 Kilometers! 12/24/2025 Red Letter day for Dizzy.
  24. I've been experimenting with French scrambled eggs. Really low heat to temper to a creamy finish. Takes 3 times longer but the result is wild. Hit it with some nutmeg close to the end with small finishes of frozen butter. Stellar!
  25. $2.52. Lowest I've seen in quite awhile. XOM is still stubborn. XOM Premium well over a dollar more than any other outlet.
