I have a 2024 LTZ with the Gideon/Very Dark interior and I love it. Images online make it appear more gray than it actually is. It's got more khaki and brown tones than the configurator shows on my computer screen.

What's with the dealers there ordering fleets of $95k plow trucks? lol I'd love to know the percentage of Denali Ultimates that end up serving plow duty.

That's what prompted me to start this thread too! These trucks are supposed to be utility platforms. Why remove a utility feature that's so frequently used by guys who actually use their trucks? If they wanted to save $, I'd rather they cut down on the amount of useless sheet metal they put on these things to make them obnoxiously oversized. I'm 6'5" and have a hard time reaching things in the bed or under the hood that I shouldn't have issues with... Only other comment I'd make, on the distracted driving thing, if you're like me and use Android Auto, there's zero reason to ever look at a phone screen while driving. The new screens especially make this the case. I like the wireless charging where I can't see my phone.

I ordered the 7 way to 12v socket adapter. Will try that out and report back. I know it doesn't work on the newer Fords with the smart plugs back there. The new GMs are also smart somehow as in they know when a trailer is attached.

zero interest in a CD player here. Had one on my 2016 and never used it once. But I used the 12v power outlet for my RV camera system a few times a month. We leave on a 4000 mile trip next week. Hope this USB adapter thingy works.

Instead there are 120v house-hold plugs in the center console and bed. But that doesn't help when you have a heap of 12v accessories you've collected over the years.

I've had my truck for 6 days now, and so far, I really like it. It's TALL, but I've gotten used to the size pretty quickly. I'm a tech-geek and LOVE the new screens, tech, etc. But one thing that bothers me, that I didn't even realize I had to look for when shopping... there are NO 12v outlets in this thing anywhere! Yes, you can buy a $5 adapter on Amazon to connect low-power 12v things to the USB port, but what about higher powered items? For emergencies, I travel with a portable air station. It's saved my bacon on a few occasions. What about first responders who use 12v power to connect their light bars? Most of the 120v to 12v transformers don't push enough amps to power a portable air station. What are others with 2024s doing? I'm considering wiring one right to the battery with an in-line fuse for emergency use and just zip tying it out of the way.

Local dealer told me they could start ordering Lakeshore Blue in August and expect delivery in November or December. I wanted something sooner so I settled on Sterling Metallic, which actually looks better than I expected with old-man chrome bumpers. I figure I'll trade it on a blue truck in a couple years.

Very nice! Haven't seen many DRWs come in yet. On the lights with tailgate, I haven't found anything in the settings. I would love this feature too. I use a tonneau cover on my truck 100% of the time. Would be awesome if there was a way to have those lights come on any time you drop the gate.

First time I put my truck in drive in the garage, I just about hit the garage door. Was used to the pedal pressure from my half ton when shifting from park. The new 2024 takes a ton of pedal effort at rest. Will try the three hard pumps thing and see if that improves things.

It's puzzling how limited some of these packages are. I like the Chrome Sport appearance package quite a lot too but I think you can only build one in black or white. A blue one of those would look super sharp.

Based on this post and the towing report by @the8rotor, I pulled the trigger today. Gonna miss my "little" half ton crew cab. This thing is enormous... Will report on towing the boat and RV once I get a few miles on.

I test drove a gasser/Allison combo this morning and was surprised how un-peppy it felt compared to my 2016 5.3L 8 speed, which doesn't exactly press you back in your seat either. I imagine the transmission would learn how I drive over time and respond a bit more. It felt like it needed a little more coaxing to scoot than the half ton. Neither hold a candle to my programmed 2006 Titan though. Man, I miss driving that truck some days.

Super helpful. I'm cross-shopping GMC and Chevy 6.6L gassers this weekend and it sounds like that powertrain will do exactly what I need it to do.

Start it up and let it run every couple weeks. I use the On-Star remote control to do that when I'm overseas for extended periods (usually a month or more annually). I'll start both my truck and my wife's car and let them run to get up to temp. Side benefit is it fumigates all the spiders and creepy crawlies in the garage.

wondering if you stayed in 7th or 8th gear at 65 MPH. On my 8 speed half ton, I run in 6th gear at that speed and feel I could most benefit from another gear between between 3 and 5.

I know. The blue AT4s from the last few years look great. Would love one with the updated interior and gas powertrain.

Their prices advertised are blowing away everyone else's, but none of the 2024s on their site are available. Did you find their pricing to be legit on your order? With their pricing, it'd be cheaper for me to order one from them and ship it to me in AZ than to order one locally.

Local dealer tells me August is first order capability for the blue GMC and Chev... but who knows how many times that will change. Real bummer too. I'd really dig a blue AT4.

I get hwy hypnosis with anything over 8 hours or so. I feel super dizzy once I'm off the road for the day and find sleeping a challenge.

My wife is also a non-driver when we're towing. She's Asian so any time she backs her car out of the garage without removing a side mirror, I'm proud of her. Anyways, we go from Arizona to Wisconsin and back with our camper. Last year was the first attempt at this. I'd originally planned for 6-7 hour days but found that was a bit too optimistic. We found that around 5 hours of drive time if doing it in consecutive days was good, on average. There were some days that were "big push days" that would be closer to 6.5 and other days where it was a bit more relaxed and we'd do 4.5. For stays, we found that most RV parks have availability for overnights. These were hit and miss in terms of location and quality, but they all had full hookups, so it was good to start each day with clean tanks (still towing with half ton, I try to keep weight down).

Have them on my 1500. They let me tow my RV without permanently riding on the overload leaf. Kinda nice to be going down the road with that nice half-ton Magnaride with my TT out back. Before the RAS, I was permanently riding on the overload. I imagine you don't need much help on the 2500 rear end but great to hear they're working well there too. Great bang for the buck mod for sure.

As I shop for my next truck, I'm finding parking to be of major concern. My truck doubles as my daily driver, which means parking at the airport about 20x/year. Sure would love if it fit in the parking garage like my half ton. The thought of buying a $75k+ vehicle and parking it in the AZ sun spikes my OCD to the moon. I just returned from a week long camping trip near San Diego where we spent some time in the city. There were several parking spots that my half ton fit "like a glove" that a 21" longer HD would not have. Including on my cramped, beach-front camp-site (photo). Why is the standard bed 6'10" now? That's just dumb... At least the trucks are so tall now that they won't keep making them taller. They fit under a standard 7' garage door by about 1 inch when you account for the door trim. I hope they're not stupid enough to keep lifting them higher and higher. But all this "I'm gonna be a big rig when I grow up" nonsense has to stop. If I could get the 6.6L gasser with 10 speed and HD suspension in my 2016 Crew Cab Short Bed 1500 Denali to get me around 3000 lbs payload, I couldn't give GM my money fast enough. Right now, RAM is the leader in my search, even though their truck is the most outdated. A RAM Crew is shorter than a GM double cab and is a somewhat more tolerable mere 10" longer than my current truck.

Am I to understand that you averaged 100MPH for the trip, or that the two year old was actually quiet for a portion of it?
