Well, I have the 5.3 and it doesn't have resonator chambers like your pic shows... Mine has those square screens welded into the sides of the pipes... I get droning when I cover them. I don't get a helicopter sound because my motor has DFM rather than AFM...

Those screen resonators, as silly as they look, actually work.

I mean, it gets cold at night here. I have had the same one on my 2018 Z71 for a year now. No issues. Collects a decent amount of oil, several ounces ever 1000 miles, and it doesn't seem to be letting much if any into the return line that goes to the manifold...

You do have to contort your wrist a bit to unscrew it... lol

Meh, I have a pressure washer for the ATV's so that's ok. I know the mud gets everywhere, but that's just part of having a truck!

Yeah, I like them so far. Not a lot of noise, they handle great in dry and in the wet so far... We rarely get snow in GA so not sure when I will get to try that out... Hope to get onto some muddy trails soon. The tread looks aggressive enough and is similar to a Duratrac in that department, so I would expect it to do pretty well off road. The stockers were the Wranger TrailRunner AT which isn't a bad tire, except that the OEM version that GM uses is NOT the same tread depth as the off the shelf version... Else, I would have kept those for awhile. But the tread depth stock was like 10mm at best, and so I went to Discount Tire like 5 days after I got my new truck. They gave me credit for those tires, so the new UltraTerrains installed and balanced came to just under $800 with taxes and fees...

GY Wrangler UltraTerrain AT in 275/60r20, same size as came on the truck...

And if they make one for the 2019+ trucks with DFM, I will buy it in a heartbeat. That's all my truck really needs now. Got nicer tires, did the exhaust, did the Airaid MIT intake kit, and now I just need it to be on 8 cylinders all the time. I don't care about the 1.6mpg different per tank... that's $2. I don't care about $2. If I cared about MPG I would not have bought a big truck.

Are you guys adjusting the PSI for mileage purposes, or for ride quality? I know that the label on the truck says 32F and 34R for the stock tires, but that sorta goes out the window when you get different tires that have a different carcass, etc... I tend to run mine higher. I run my Ridgegrapplers at 47psi cold, but those are an LT tire with 80PSI max. These Wranger Ultraterrains have a max PSI of 51, so I have been running them at 38psi front and back cold. I kinda prefer the extra ride height and firmer handling of a higher PSI, and was considering bumping it up... Is there a general rule of thumb, where you don't want your cold pressure to exceed a certain percentage of your max PSI?

Yeah, it is exclusive to them, I think that's also the case for the Cooper Discoverer ATP... It gets great reviews and the price is good.

I just upgraded my OEM tires to Wrangler UltraTerrains from Discount Tire, 275/60r20... Great tire so far, no vibes at up to 90mph so far, not too loud. Look very similar to Duratracs... Only a few bucks more than the Cooper ATP's

I noticed that when I covered mine, it made it a little louder, but with my muffler and flapper delete, it does introduce a slight drone. I am still on the fence if the extra noise and bark is worth the droning... or if it is a fair trade off... It's pretty loud when on the gas with the muffler and flapper gone, but when cruising it's fairly quiet...

Any news or updates on this? I saw the post of "Check back soon", from about 6 months ago, and then nada...

That was my thinking... If I did the $100 mod and didn't like it, I could just jump in the truck and drive my happy a$$ down to Summit Racing and pick out a catback system and install it... My 2018 sounds a bit deeper and louder than the 2019, but the 2018 has a definite drone whereas this one is nearly non-existent...

Install was easy. Mounted it right up with an L bracket from Home Depot and a lock-nut to that mounting screw for the washer fluid reservoir... Connected the two hoses, done. I did make sure to unscrew the internal filter that the "in" line with the oily mist flows through, and filled it with steel wool... this "filter" forces the hot oily air to breath through that, and very effectively separates out the oil before the vacuum line draws that air into the manifold. Those droplets form inside that inner filter, and then drip into the bottom of the can... Here it all is, installed.

Taping up the screens will give a slight drone. My advice is to ditch the muffler and flapper, but leave the resonance screens alone, best of both worlds. Loud when you stomp on it, fairly quiet when you just cruise along...

Which is why I recorded a video from inside the cab of my truck as I drove down the road. ? My 2018 that is straight piped and resonator removed, absolutely has a drone. I don't care, but it's there. The 2019 really doesn't. Not sure why... maybe because there are two pipes rather than one... maybe because they exit out the back bumper rather than out the side... perhaps the cab is much better insulated from outside noise... Maybe a combination of all 3... I don't know, I am not an acoustic engineer... but I am driving the truck and recorded a video for the nay-sayers, so it is what it is...

We delete it because it gives you the benefits of the catback system, for 1/10th of the cost. Simple, and it works.

Mine should be here some time today, and I will see where I can mount it. Last time I just took a black "L" bracket from Home Depot and used that as a mounting bracket. I will take pics of the install and post them up when I am done.

Of course, if you tied things down properly rather than just tossing crap in the back and hoping it stays put... Sorry, it's a big pet peeve of mine as an avid motorcyclist... Too many times I am dodging debris and crap in the road because some yahoo uses the bed of his truck as a trash can, or doesn't take the time to secure his Home Depot purchases... One day especially was fun... dodging a large wheelbarrow tumbling end over end all over the road at 55mph...
