  1. Put this on the scale its from a 2017 Silverado Custom 20" Chrome Clad Wheels and they weigh 35lbs just for all to know, cheers.
  2. I am Chinese/Indonesian/Dutch born in Indonesia; family immigrated to Canada for a better world. My Father and mother always warned about communism as Indonesia went through a civil war between communism and democracy, “Killing Fields”. I agree China is getting allot of tech from other countries especially the US/ Canada/UK/ and allot of other countries. It is scary for sure; they are communist and are getting more and more powerful. But I do not think China wants to be a country who take over the world or be dictated to by Russia. They know keeping relations and security with USA and be part of the world will also economically make them more money, or they would be a North Korea kind of place. But with great power they will flex their muscle sometimes like Russia in Eastern Europe and China in the South China Sea. But so, does any other country at sometime in their history. War, I do not think full out war is an option. Every country knows that will be costly and long, the way the world works right now and there are really no guarantees who would win, and past history has tough us all what could happen. Every country have problems and China is far from perfect but we only look at ourselves to see the imperfectness as well. As to the new generations putting their heads in the sand, I agree that they are not able to do any critical thinking and think deeply about the actions or the outcomes of their actions. The youth are too worried about the next great video game or next Netflix show, or even the next Tik Tok post. History may repeat itself and the blind will be ripe for the picking of fascist regimes.
  3. All I can say is,....wow

  5. A women who does her own servicing on her truck, I am truly impressed and if you have a significant other what a lucky person. If not, you single,...LOL. Don't always believe us know it all backyard mechanics type guys or even some dumb ass parts guys, always check reliable sources for proper info and double check.
  6. I bought a set of 4 from Craigslist lightly used for about $600 just the rims up here where I live in BC Canada. Seems people up here are buying trendy blackout ones and are getting rid of their OEMs cheap. I weighed them with a bathroom scale and they only weighed 28lbs they are 18"x8.5" OE wheels I attached a picture from the Silverado catalogue. After market wheels with the same size they are going to weigh more, I saw some brand name aftermarkets weighing for same size wheel of about 35lbs. I believe the OEM wheels are made well and seem lighter, they may not be as trendy looking but if you go after market really scrutinize them and get the best you can. Just my 2cents.
  7. Thanks for all the replys guys, some great and cost affective cover ideas too. Unfortunately I had to put a cover of some kind because here in BC we get lots of rain and I get a little bit of water on the capless and I figure when I fill up and shove the fuel nosel in it would push that little bit of water and any contaminants down with it. I do get a bit of dust too when I drive on dirt dusty roads. I know its probably nothing to worry about since it so little but I rather have a cover of some kind to keep debris out anyways. True what some say why they can't just use a conventional gas cap or seal the door as well like I see on some car models if they were going to use capless.
  8. I didn't know that I live in lower mainland British Columbia so am not sure if they sell that up here but will check at the dealer if they do, or as suggested on eBay. It looks like it's lockable too I see. Thanks for letting me know!
  9. I have a 2017 Silverado and assuming the newest Silverado has the Capless Fuel cap / Fuel Filler. I see that driving through dusty environments, wet & snowy weather the fuel door does not seal against outside environments things can accumulate on the capless fuel filler. I figures out that the outside cap dimension is 6cm = 2.36" wide. I could use a trailer bearing cap with is the same width or just slightly larger or a rubber bearing buddy cap that is 2.44" = 6.20cm wide which both fits right over with the metal trailer bearing cap being a bit more snug. Check out the photo's below. To buy them I just went to the local RV / trailer supply place. Hope this will help anybody looking for a cost affective way to keep sh*t off of the capless fuel filler.
