  1. Yea, because countless 5.3s and 6.2s haven’t blown up well before 200k ? It’s all in how you maintain it and treat it - and this includes not abusing it.
  2. I got my VIN with a code of 4300 this morning. Now I am hoping that my dealer can get the rail around number from the Dealer Business Center so I can track the train.
  3. Mine was built on Wednesday... so I am currently in waiting hell. I think we might be the only 2 people who have driven them on here. I did not notice much turbo lag on my drive though - more the transmission being out of sorts, but it only had 26 miles on it so I doubt it really had time to adapt. It may also be a case of being used to horrendous turbo lag in my Mercedes. I don't think it sounds terrible - but definitely not what you would expect in a full size truck. My current truck is tuned and has an exhaust which is loud as hell, so I am looking forward to the change (I think I am getting old). I can't stand how a V8 sounds and got tired of waiting on the Duramax so this will fit the bill nicely. I plan on towing my boat, about 4,100LB wet on trailer with it - and we are going to be getting a small camper. My current 2.5L/6 speed manual Colorado handles it through the mountains with ease (in spite of a 3,500lb towing limit for my powertrain), so I am not worried about towing at all in my case. I'm just really glad that GM came up with something different... I'm a fan of technology and not afraid of the complexity of the engine so I am really excited.
  4. It should be used every time you park regardless. Your parking pawl and driveline will thank you ?
  5. I tried asking the Chevrolet chat folk, and to no surprise, they had no idea what the hell I was talking about with those.
  6. I got my order number and TPW on Saturday. 3/25. I think it is supposed to be coming from Ft. Wayne (double cab), so hopefully the transit to the DC area isn't too bad. Anyone have an idea of how long that transit takes? Needless to say I am losing my mind already... I waited a year from order to delivery of my smart and nearly 7 months from order to delivery for my Mercedes and neither were as bad as the wait for this for me. It seems that my TPW is sooner than some others (March vs. April compared to Bshort for instance)... it makes me wonder how they determine production order.
  7. I bought from a dealer that seems to be a volume dealer (they are one of the dealers that specializes in Corvettes, Callaway tuned trucks, etc)... so hopefully they do. My salesman emailed me earlier and said they expect within a week. If the order is not moving by Saturday there will be words exchanged. My Cruze is in their service department today, and I have to go pick up my loaner in a bit so I plan on popping by to keep my annoying face present.
  8. How soon after placing their order are people getting finalized and getting a TPW? To call me antsy at this point is an understatement.
  9. I just signed a deal for my RST for 48k before rebates a few min ago. I probably could have went elsewhere and ran the numbers but am satisfied. 6-8 weeks and my new truck should be here.
  10. We will see. It’s a risk I’m willing to take - I won’t own a gas V8 or V6. Plus it pulls like a freight train around town.
  11. Another stupid question, but does this add any functionality so that you can have navigation instructions in the DIC as well, or is there a split screen capability in the main screen?
  12. Thank you. I'm at the beginning of the month making this order and at not much of an advantage there... I think I am going to go in at $46K and see what they will do. I just bought a 2019 Cruze 3 weeks ago from another dealer who is still licking their wounds (got a loaded LT at $3K under invoice + rebates and unloaded our heap of a 2011 Terrain on them)... if this dealer won't budge on my Silverado I'll go beat on the other one tomorrow and see what I come up with.
  13. About to go order my truck tomorrow. This is my first time ordering a GM product, so trying to figure out how aggressive I can expect to be with my negotiations (my last 2 orders were with Mercedes, and I went in super aggressive on those deals). I'm not really tied to any one dealer, but have been working with one so far that seems decent. 2019 RST Double Cab, 4x4, 2.7L Leather Package All Star Package Convenience Package W/Bucket Seats Convenience II Package Safety Package Bed Protection Package Advanced Trailering Package 22" 5-spoke Dark Silver aluminum wheels with Chrome inserts Polished Exhaust Tip All Weather Floor Liners MSRP is $53,665 -$500 for All Star -$2,000 Cash Allowances Net Price $51,165 after r ebates The dealer I am working with has offered $50,500 minus any rebates. Based on what I have read, I think there is room to negotiate for more - but I am not sure how much more, given that I am ordering. Thoughts?
  14. Does this also add the functionality where it shows the speed limit on the road you are travelling in the cluster display?
