I had a 2019 LT crew with the 5.3 and 8 speed, now I have the 2020 with the 3.0 and a 10 speed I would never go back to the 5.3. The cost of diesel fuel matters not when your mpg is almost double.
Just keep in mind most states lemon laws state 30 or more days out of service gets you a replacement vehicle. I would contact the BBB and get the paperwork ready.
I have already changed out the back up lamps with LEDs and Oh what a difference. I’m just wondering if anyone has done the same with the plate lamps, they are so dim and orange looking I hate them.
Well the 10 speed is at least better than the 8 speed. My 10 speed can give a jerky shift from time to time, the 8 speed however can just be totally erratic for no reason. Some people have said shifting has improved with the addition of the new oil.
I would go and check out your states lemon law first before getting a lawyer. FYI one of the GM reps “John” assigned to my case was fired from GM around that time frame and I lost communication for awhile also. You may have been dealing with this same guy. Google the BBB auto line and get the case opened with them first. This will cost you nothing and it did work for me. Please feel free to message me here if you need help.
A Great reference for why AFM and DFM is horrible for your transmission. The thread is over 1400 pages.

Nope not with the automatic. Only the M paddle shift mode disengages AFM. On the manual it’s off unless it’s in eco mode. This is why the Range device is so popular with Corvette owners because over time the added vibration and oscillation from reduced cylinder mode destroys the toque converters.
My information comes right from one of the Corvette racing team engineers I trust him, you can believe what you want. Play this video they will talk about why they had to stiffen the toque tube by 300% when they went with cylinder deactivation.
AFM and DFM are the same thing other than DFM has the ability to go down to one cylinder whereas AFM 4 is the lowest. You still get an uneven frequency vibration while in reduced cylinder mode that will eventually ruin the transmission. This is why my 2020 is a diesel and not a V8.
Because the DFM will eventually ruin your transmission. The DFM when engaged causes a vibration in the transmission eventually causing the A8 transmission to fail. Corvette owners with the 8 speed have been experiencing this for years now. I had one fail with less than 5000 miles on it. Just Google it.
My Truck was repurchased for this issue it’s a problem with the front differential and the drive shaft on the drivers side. Find the jingle jingle in 2WD thread in the trouble shooting section it’s over 60 pages.
Well I already had my 2019 repurchased. I’m on a 2020 now and it does have better build quality. Keeping my fingers crossed. Your lift gate isn’t working properly because of the tonno cover. Ask me how I know?
