Had the same issue a while back. Easies way to replicate it is drive over a piece of lumber 4x4 or sometimes 2x4. And yes my dealer gave up on it so did I but in a stroke of luck its gone. I think what ever was the issue it rattled its way out and fill of the pickup for good. Either way can't hear it anymore

Intermittent electrical issues are buggee to find. I would start with checking any possibile wiggle points. 7/4 pin connector. Have someone wiggle it while applying the break and so on

I mean honestly with these type of things it really depends on the personal preference. Most people drive with their gauge cluster brightness cranked all the way up. I just can't do that. So the backup camera screen on comparison to the rest of gauge was just too bright

So I think extra lights in the back will help. It will even mitigate a bright screen. Think about it this way... Very bight gauge cluster at night with very dim headlights. To see better you either dim the gauge cluster or turn brighten the headlights.

I won't call the max tow a bragging right. Most construction equipment hauler can be dialed to have 10% tongue weight. That being said 10% is really the lowest you want to be at. I think the sweet spot is 12~13%. And I know it might sounds like splitting hair but it is critical. So yeah if you are hauling a skidsteer with one or two guys in the truck you might be able to creap up to your max tow. Without hitting your max payload Travel trailer is a different animal, you are going to bring more gear with and possibly family members and some of these articles can't be stowed in the camper. Ex: bikes, gas cans, tools, wife, and children

Actually, it started when I was reading somewhere on the forum about the backup camera and someone mentioned the dealer fixed it and they have a TSB - went to the dealership and told them to fix and the rest is history. Way better now. It is not as great in the day time but that is better than being blinded at night.

I have a snowbear plow so it might be smaller wire (lesser bundle of wires) but there is a spot below the shutter that i fished mine throw and it works fine, i can try to take a picture.

So I also watched the guy that review trucks and SUV on YouTube about this topic and he said it might not be completely accurate because they don't review every single model, he also proceeded to say it is mainly because of the 8speed 5.3 with DFM – interestingly enough that is what I have and have not had a single issue with the engine or transmission 27k miles so far. I had few hiccups tho: weird noise from the front suspension that is gone on its own after 20k miles, either a bolt rattled its way out or other interior noises are masking the noise coming from the suspension either way it’s gone. Back up camera was blindingly bright at night that got fixed with a visit to the dealership. Other than that, I really like the truck and think it is best looking 1/2ton you can buy today, maybe the interior is not that pretty, but it is functional and not offensive. I don’t have the sliding rear window and that seems to be the hot topic now – so yeah have not experience the leaking rear window issue. All in all I don’t care what the report say and I try to take people complaint on the forum with a grain of salt, after all usually people comes to the forum to look for issue or write about one so yeah it is going to be full of bad stuff.

There is a lot of good inputs from others and here is my 0.02 I have a very similar setup 2019 crew cab, 4wd short bed, and 5.3 8spd. a 27' camper -> 30' bumper to nose 5750lbs dry. I had to pick it up 2 hours away from home, with only me and my 12yo son in the truck it was a very scary ride home – all back road couldn’t go faster than 50mph (mostly 40-45) on 60-65mph roads. The power was alright definitely can get up to speed. Consider the following: Weight distribution hitch: with the weight distribution hitch I can say I am comfortable going 55-60mph on a calm day. Small cars passing me caused the truck to wiggle a bit. Also, truck manufacturer requires you to have a WDH on anything above 5000lbs on ½ ton. Payload: my truck is rated at 1900lbs with my family of 5 weighing in at 900lbs before breakfast, have about ~900lbs tongue weight (7000lbs loaded * %12.5) so if you do the math we can only pack about 100lbs in the bed – that is not a lot when you are going camping between firewood, food, gas cans, suit cases, and so on. (I would load as much as possible in the trailer). Lots of pit stops: averaging ~9mpg that is about 200miles between fill up – I take 5gal gas can just in case. My personal preference I would go smaller if I can, pulling 30+ TT with half ton is a lot of work, the engine can do it, but stability is going to be a challenge.

Got it fixed today. Still can't control brightness. However, it seems like it is dimmed all the way down which is ok.

Although, your theory make somewhat sense to me, i find it hard to believe that is the sole reason. also I believe the ratio you mentioned should have been %70 to %30, upward of %15 of new trucks are sold in TX according to Edmund, I lived in Houston for 8 months and brother you would be blasting that AC on a nice July morning, also been to Louisiana and they also get very humid hot summer (actually me and the wife ran AC in Feb in Louisiana - northern folks here very low tolerant to heat). I think it is a flowed system is all, I don't think mold was in mid when the co-op was modeling the duct work.

will that stinks, I think these trucks are cheaply made. unfortunately, the mind set now is for items to be replaceable often - my gut feeling tells me the louvers are just chintzy piece of plastic that barely covers the opening and with tolerance of -/+ 20% of optimal operation.

Are all the other face vents open? Is the fan speed set to high? Are the rear vents closed? Also, have you tried to set it on feet and face? What I am trying to get it at is MAYBE there is too much pressure in the system and the weakest is the defrost luvers

Mine did get stuck few times after a wash in the cold weather. Pushing the button white trying to shake it loose at the same time did the trick.

Does it happen on all apps, spotify, pendora,etc. Or does it happen on locally saved songs. Apple product is a nightmare to work with everything is proprietary and funky.(from an interface prospective, not end user) It looks like the truck is unable to read your music indices. If you are using an app, I would start by clearing out the cash. Not sure if that feature of available on iPhone Good luck

What type of trailer? Travel trailer? If so look into weight distribution hitch. And if you end up replacing the tires let us know if that improved it by much

So this is my take on this, and it is based on your guys input - might be able to check if I have a DEF tank and able to look at: 1. There is no actual sensor that read a range of DEF level 2. DEF have tank have 2 sensor (Low, and Full) 3. The other ranges are calculated based on predetermined tables 4. Tables are dynamic and adjusted based on other factors (engine load, fuel consumption, attached trailers, etc) To find out if this conclusion is accurate, when you get a low level add one gallon only. if the DEF gauge stays at low then the theory is correct. I imagine it is something like gauges on the RV water tank (3~5) sensors "they are not sensors, just rods" and using the fluid to complete the circuit. it might be a very cost effective idea since an ultra sonic or resistive sensors might cost more than a small controller with few digital inputs on it, especially that DEF is not flammable. my 0.02 anyways. This might be not very popular but I like the firestone distention A/T. I live ND and if you ask me its worse than MN. Icey roads because we don't salt, and drift are so bad because of the wind (no trees and what have you) They don't look very aggressive and ride pretty good. I can also tell you stay away from the Bridgestone dular revo they are horrible in winter worst tires I have ever bought. Those two brand I have experience with, another brand that I see alot at work parking lot is the hankook Dyno pro. I don't have personal experience with those tho
