  1. 1. The hissing or rushing sound sound at idle is normal for these trucks. The noise is coming from power steering gear's valves. There is nothing wrong functionality but does admit annoying sound. Base steering gears are quieter but the electrically boosted hydraulic are louder for this. There is not a fix for it. 2. When you are in park, there is a component called BTSI that prevents you from shifting from park without applying the brake pedal. This is a safety component that prevents young children putting a vehicle in gear. The noise you hear is the solenoid cycling. Not sure if your truck is louder than normal or you are used to something else. 3. Hill descent control uses the ABS module to control. Since you are not on brake pedal, abs pump needs to run to build pressure. The cycling noise is the valves at each corner opening and closing to control vehicle speed. Ever heard ABS during a panic stop? Should be similar noise. Not sure about whine and SD card. #iworkforGM
  2. Ask if they cleared the offsets in steering gear after alignment. These new eps gears have lead pull compensation. If you drive it for while, it probably will correct itself if alignment is correct. #iworkforGM

  4. I have driven all the variants. My gotta have are the 18 or 20" tires and power folding mirrors. The rest of the items I can live without. #iworkforGM
  5. I think it's either the width of the box or the distance from center of ball to front. I would start with center of ball measurement. #iworkforGM

  7. You need to adjust some of the measurements. I would take a look at the dimension from center of ball to front of trailer. This dimension usually gets messed up because instructions doesn't explain it well. You need to pretend the it has a flat front on the trailer. It looks like you need to increase that number. #iworkforGM

  9. On diesels, it is rear leaf springs, rear axle, rear shock, and rear tire pressure increases to 80 psi. On gas models, rear axle is same. #iworkforGM
  10. The problem you have with pickup campers is going over FGAWR not your payload/GVW. That is why most camper packages have higher front spring rates. The higher front spring rates are good for roll as well. #iworkforGM
  11. The thing to remember is there are only two numbers that are VIN specific on the trailering label: curb weight and payload. The max conventional, max gn, and tongue/pin weight are based on SAE calculation. SAE calculation uses base vehicle mass for heavy duty trucks. That means your max GN / fifth wheel is likely significantly lower if you have denali/high county. I have seen situations where the max pin weight is actually higher than the available payload. #iworkforGM
  12. The problem with going down to 5200 is it may not trim properly. You may not have enough adjustability in torsion bar adjuster based on your front axle weight. #iworkforGM

  14. 2500 diesel crew cab runs 5600 FGAWR.
  15. The F60 - heavy front suspension / camper raises your FGAWR by 400 lbs (next size up). VYU - snow plow prep / camper raises your FGAWR to 5600 lbs on gas engines and 6000 lbs on diesel. On a lot of 4wd diesel models, F60 and VYU get you the same suspension. #iworkforGM

  17. In general, 2500 and 3500 srw torsion bars are the same for the same wheelbase and engine. The diesel snow plow package only goes up one size whereas the gas plow prep goes anywhere from one to three sizes. #iworkforGM
  18. Post a picture of the image and I can tell you what to change. In most cases, the center of ball to front of trailer is wrong. You need to assume the trailer has flat front don't include bubble. Also for width, use box width not overall width. #iworkforGM
  19. The hitches are good to 20,000 lbs. They just put 10% on sticker because that is what is used for SAE calculation. #iworkforGM
  20. You can't do lane keep assist or super/ultra cruise with hydraulic steering. All you can do is some basic adaptive cruise like ford and ram. Your basically spending resources working on systems that are out of date. #iworkforGM
  21. You can use it on any trailer as just a backup camera. Just plug and play if your truck has one of the systems that accepts trailer cameras. #iworkforGM
  22. It is due to the tires. These hankooks are great off road but, you deal with some sway on the larger weight conventional trailers. You will have no issues with 7k trailer. #iworkforGM
