  1. The tow mirrors are a pretty rare option on the 1/2 tons, 3.0 or not. The vast majority of 3.0 trucks do not have the tow mirrors. The 3.0 isn't a tow engine like the 6.6. It is built for fuel economy. Most 3.0 trucks only have a 8,500-9,000# towing capacity.
  2. After looking at the posted instructions and under my truck, the bumper will have to come off because of the extra cooling the 3.0 has. Thanks everyone.
  3. That looks like the pre-refresh bumper. Is it the same for the refreshed trucks?
  4. Has anyone removed the tow hooks from their 2022 refresh yet? I found a pair of red ones that I'm going to pick up. Just curious if it requires removing the bumper completely to get them off.
  5. My 2021 AT4 had the 20" wheels with the Territory MT tires and had sport mode.
  6. It was a late year change in 2021 that the AT4 didn't get sport mode. GM decided the off road tires didn't need it. I had an AT4 that was built in June 2021 that had sport mode.
  7. All the 2019+ covers fit the 2022 refresh. The bed didn't change.
  8. I love them. They are very low profile, easy to install, and puts off great light. Between my brother and myself, we have probably 30 Firewire LED's on different vehicles. The only issue we have ever had is the inline fuse will pop easily. Firewire recommended taking it out if it is installed on a fused circuit before their fuse. It was an easy fix.
  9. You can't say power is a wash comparing HP and TQ numbers. Those are 2 completely different numbers with one only being calculated and not actually measured. Comparing a gas to a diesel engine always blows my mind. There are too many differences to compare them.
  10. GM took them off the GMC trucks for the 2022 models.
  11. Thanks! How is the chrome holding up on yours? I may have to grab a set the end of next month when my commission check hits. LOL
  12. I don't believe that the Z71 emblem is part of that package. Your dealer probably ordered it separate and put it on. I looked at a 2022 refresh that had this package but the Z71 emblems were still chrome (unless the dealer I looked at the truck at didn't put the Z71 badge on).
  13. No worries. Everybody has a different skill/comfort level to do things. Don't let anyone degrade you for letting someone else do it.
  14. Where did you get them from? I'd like a set in 20's.
  15. It was removed somewhere in the mid 2021 model year. I know my 2022 refresh does it automatically. You can hear the RPM ramp up if you are setting with the AC or heat on and when the truck is remote started.
  16. I'm like you, I like the chrome on the LTZ and High Country trucks. And I'm almost 1/2 your age (37) Where did you find those wheels? Are they GM wheels? Those look great.
  17. GM finally came out with them this year. It never made sense that they didn't have them before. https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/chevrolet-z71-emblems-in-black-85109485?model=Silverado 1500&modelId=491&bodyId=22&body=Crew Cab Pickup&wheelId=651&wheel=Short Box&trimId=478&trim=LTZ&driveId=8&drive=4WD&engineId=17881&engine=3.0L L6 DIESEL&bodyNumDoors=5&year=2022&make=Chevrolet&categoryId=98048
  18. 1. Simple cost cutting measure by GM. They did it on the Silverado's in 2020. 2. You can buy the black tips from GM or have your chrome ones powder coated. 3. Agreed. I had a 2020 Silverado RST, a 2021 GMC AT4, and now the refresh 2022 Silverado LTZ. The GMC AT4 had less cab noise than the 2020 Silverado, but the 2022 LTZ has even less than the AT4. I think my reduction in noise may be due to the AT4 had the 20" mud tires and not the all-terrain tires. The 2022 does seem to have less noise than the 2020 though. 4. The Bose does sound good in the 2022, but I can't for the life of me find the speed adjusted volume setting. I do think the bass in the 2021 AT4 hit a little harder than the 2022. 5. All 3 of mine were the 3.0. The 2020 RST averaged 25 mpg in the city and 29-30 on the highway (it had the 18" wheels and 31" tires). The 2021 AT4 did the worse, obviously, but still got in the 20-25 range consistently. The 2022 LTZ has only been on 1 trip in the 2,8xx miles it has on it. It did very well averaging 27. The 2021 AT4 and the 2022 LTZ have both had the S&B intake and the PPE turbo resonator delete on them. 6. I feel the same way about the 2022 transmission. It does seem to hold gears longer and seems to shift a tad harder than the other 2 trucks. 7. My 2021 AT4 had Sport Mode (built in August 2021), but I saw that the later built AT4's didn't have Sport Mode. 8. The temp gauge on the dash is really just a dummy gauge. They haven't been accurate since the mid-90's. 9. The longer crank is the "fix" for the crank no start issues that plagued the 2021+ models. My 2022 LTZ does the same thing. That was the first thing I noticed when I drove the 2022. 10. Get the Autostop Eliminator (https://www.autostopeliminator.com/collections/gm/products/2019-silverado-sierra-autostop-eliminator). It is worth it. I don't like the Start/Stop on any vehicle. 11. The storage compartment in the center console is smaller than the pre-refresh trucks. The console itself is the same physical size. 12. This was on some of the 2022 models. It seems like it is hit or miss for when GM puts this in the trucks. You can also roll all the windows down by holding down the unlock button on the key fob, if you've turned it on in the settings, even if you don't have the button on the dash. The only thing that some people have a problem with in the refresh interior is it does require the data plan to have the built in Google Maps operate. That doesn't bother me as I do pay for the data plan. The only complaint I have with my 2022 LTZ refresh is the wheels. I like the polished LTZ wheels on the 2019-2022 LTD's. The wheels now look almost exactly like the Custom 20" wheels. I'm hoping to find a set of 2019-2021 LTZ wheels that are polished to swap out, as long as they are not that expensive.
  19. I had a bit of white vinyl left over from my '21 AT4 so I thought I'd see how the bowties looked in white. This looks better than black IMO. I'm going to have them keep the center caps out of the wheels when I get the tires rotated so I can cover them in white as well.
  20. Yes. The small map on the right requires the data plan to work.
  21. Since you have the HUD option, you need to use the OEM GM glass. The aftermarket glass will distort the HUD. Get a price from your GM dealer's body shop.
  22. The window sticker will say it isn't installed.
  23. If you don't have the Start/Stop button, you don't have it from the factory (only 2021 and early 2022 trucks). That was only in the 5.3 & 6.2 equipped trucks though. All the 3.0's had the Start/Stop. This post applies to the 2022 refresh trucks.
  24. The instructions posted will get you close as they start to repeat. You will need to pop the gauge cluster surround off and remove a screw on the top left of the radio screen. Then there are 2 screws in the top cubby behind the screen to remove (far outer screws). Then pull on the bottom of the screen to pop it out. The plug for the Start/Stop eliminator is on the driver side. HOWEVER, make sure your AE039 has the module in it from Autostop Eliminator before you tear your dash apart. Mine did not have the electronic portion installed. I am waiting on a response from AE to see what they are going to do.
