  1. I agree, however, it's a bit of a "status" symbol that I didn't buy my truck at some used car dealer other than the manufacturer dealer in my mind. Probably stupid, but, then, I often am.
  2. I have the in-channel vent deflectors from GM - I think they are from EGR. Took a bit to break them in - left windows up for quite a bit after install but I, occasionally, got the roll window down and back up message. Still, after a bit of time, no issues.
  3. It's been awhile so I'm trying to recall. The fronts required drilling and I bought a rivet nut gun to get it done. One cannot easily access the rear of the front fenders. The rears, where the other side of the fender can be accessed, required a new hole drilled for a screw attachment. So, indeed, there is drilling required. If one lives where the roads are salted in the winter, be sure to protect those drill holes prior to installing the splash guards.
  4. I installed the stock Chevy color-match splash guards. I really like them.
  5. Thanks, Jim! Merry Christmas to you and all of our great contributors! This site has brought me a wealth of knowledge and cost me thousands as I find new ideas from awesome people sharing their incredible mods!
  6. Bought myself a Christmas present. Morimoto XB LED tail lights, More pics to come at night time... probably tomorrow as I'm having dinner on Christmas with a retired IBM CEO - I'm so going to geek out!
  7. When it comes to glass, that is what insurance is for. Failures can com from many causes: a load in the truck contacting the glass but not quit breaking it, road hazards on the windshield and all side windows (rocks kicked up from the road can bounce off an object and find their way to your side window - happened to a guy at work two months ago) etc...
  8. I'm on a 3" level and went with Bilstein 5100s with the 0.85" setting, 1.5" body lift and 35x12.5x18 BFG All Terrains.. New control arms, of course, and I couldn't be happier. I mean, other than doing a true 6" lift ...
  9. I bought an AutoSync with BTDiesel mods done online and then uploaded to the BCM, or HMI, depending on what you want. Many options such as this without wiring and diodes and such.
  10. Interesting, I never knew 2017s came without a back up cam. Is this a WT? Also, I didn't know Sierras came in a WT and without a backup cam. Did a quick search, you must have the IOB ...
  11. Totally agree, Jim! I did forget to mention retuning for my 35s (wish I had 38s ) Thanks for the info about shift points, I'm going to give that a try.
  12. I have a white truck, hided the dirt pretty well, especially with the splash guards. Still, I wash it nearly every weekend when it's the rainy season here in Florida or a front comes through during the winter.
  13. I use the FashPaq F5 tuner. Turned off AFM (though I had already disabled it through AutoSync and BTDiesel) and did the performance tune for 91+ octane. There is, also, a choice for an 87 octane tune but I wasn't interested in that. In my experience, it's a very good tuner - I changed RPMs at start and idle. I could, also, tune shift points but I really don't know enough to mess with that.
  14. I just have mine powered by the 12 volt (cigarette lighter) port on the lower dash, it's always on.
  15. Your insurance company? Also, you have a 2021 HD, you're in the wrong forum. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/forum/240-2020-silverado-hd-sierra-hd/
  16. I've bought many items through the Chevy app, both on my phone and online via computer. At times, I choose dealer install (tow mirrors, camera system [tow mirror cams, front cam, bed cam, trailer cam], replacement Chevy black wheels and tire pressure monitors, among others, at other times I just pick it up at the dealer and install myself (roll-back bed cover, splash guards all around, full protection floor mats, rear under-seat lock box, bed extender, among other items) Both my parts guys and my service guy at the dealership have come to know me by name when I walk in as I always choose ship-to-dealer with no cost shipping.
  17. This is my go-to for factory wheel off sets: https://performancelifts.com/wheel-back-space-information.html
  18. Great thing about the folding mirrors: I was squeezing through a tight spot in town one day, as I attempted to make the squeeze, the truck next to me folded in his mirror so I could pass next to him. I thought, well, first off, thanks!, next thing was, heck, I gotta get that mod! Also, it would be great for the bank drive-through without rolling down the window and physically pulling in the mirror ... well, ya still gotta roll down the window to make the transaction, but, even so, i could retract both!
  19. Agreed. Now, if I only had power folding mirrors!
  20. Yep, soft cloth car wash (truck barely fits in) and then three hours on the shine!
  21. Maybe this? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjo8qnc9bn0AhUlQzABHVxrBCwQFnoECAYQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gruvenparts.com%2Fgm-power-folding-mirror-gear-replacement-repair-instructions%2F&usg=AOvVaw2OZwt_zKo2OaYI4pekpWPa
  22. Actually, if time would allow, I wouldn't mind it at all! That instant gratification thing that happens when shining up a vehicle is always fun!
