  1. Shouldn't just turning off automatic lights just do it? Certainly, it bounces back for the next start but I've read where some have removed the debounce so they can turn off the headlights until they want to.
  2. Seems as if to be a transmission issue. Have you had the updated thermostat for the transmission installed? Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions: • MIL illuminated • Harsh Shifts • Slip • Surge • Shudder • Harsh Garage Shifts • Harsh Range Shifts • Noise • Whine • Growl • Shake • Vibration • Delayed Shifts Chevrolet TSB 21-NA-199.pd
  3. I went through two of these before I settled on the Autotec Pro Andriod unit. I sent the old ones to @Snowcamo, I think he made use of them. https://autotecpro.com/product/chevrolet-silverado-gmc-sierra-14-4-ips-qhd-2k-touch-screen-navigation-infotainment-system-android-11-gps-bt-wifi-carplay-onstar-4g-lte/?v=e4b09f3f8402 Sorry, I'm horrible when it comes to making videos.
  4. I retrofitted my 2017 with the Boost Auto option. To be honest, I did remove the thick rubber mat and replace it with a thin rubber mat so it would work with my iPhone case. https://boostautoparts.com/products/14-19-gm-charging?options=&year=2017&make=Chevy&model=Silverado 1500
  5. My first died at about 80K, replaced with a cheap one. Lasted about a year. I, then, replaced with an AGM battery and it's been doing well for over a year - even when I forget to turn off the dash cam and the radar detector (those killed the first two batteries even though they're supposed to shut off on low battery voltage *shrug*)
  6. Pretty sure, depending on your lift and control arms, you might not need the spacers with stock wheels. I had to add 1/4" spacers to keep my tires off of the control arms with 35x12.5x18 BFGs. YMMV
  7. Maybe look here? https://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/gm-engines/l8b/
  8. Well, anyway, welcome to 2026!
  9. True. I had a relatively new battery and, at times, I would forget to turn off my dash cam while at home for a few days. The radar detector would shut off on low battery sensing (Uniden R8) but my dash cam (VanTru N4) would keep going and deplete the battery. I replaced with an AGM and, lately, on the occasion I still forget, it (the battery) keeps going. No more bringing out the MaxiSys to reset all of the codes after a battery low issue triggers all sorts of temporary codes. Now, I just do it for fun to reset transient temporary codes from time to time.
  10. Not sure what the FB post was about as I avoid FB like the plague it is, but @GTPprix White Auto and Media are the best people I've dealt with in upgrading my HMI to navigation option.
  11. This may come back to haunt me, but I've had my truck in every 5000 miles for a drain and refill, with filter, on the transmission - never a transmission flush. Along with the fix from Chevrolet TSB 21-NA-199.pdf, no issues with 98K so far.
  12. I replaced my alternator with a 250 Amp Mechman and, recently, replaced my battery with an AGM. When you replace your alternator, be sure you run the cables properly. Also, be sure the "ring" remains on the negative battery cable. Quick search: "The "ring" or donut-shaped component on the negative battery terminal of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado is the battery current sensor, which is part of the vehicle's Electrical Power Management (EPM) or Regulated Voltage Control (RVC) system."
  13. Not a "small" lift, but you could get a set of Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks. I did this for an extra .5" for the front. https://offroad.bilstein.com/en-us/products/bilstein-b8-5100-ride-height-adjustable/
  14. That would be great, thank you for the reply.
  15. That is nice! Tell us more about the rear view mirror cam install.
  16. Maybe a very slight delay when changing music streams on wireless CarPlay connection. Otherwise, no issues. The others were just too slow connecting to wireless CarPlay ~ 30 seconds or so. The latest one connects in about 10 seconds which I'm happy with. Rear cam will come up even before the wireless connection to my phone when I'm in a hurry. Also, I like having access to the stock screen for my BTDiesel AutoSync updates. https://www.btdieselworks.com/collections/autosync/products/2015-2018-autosync
  17. To be honest, I've never dropped a transmission pan - I've always had the dealer replace the fluid and filter. I would think you're good if you've kept up on regular transmission maintenance. Do you have symptoms of a faulty transmission?
  18. I went with this - the 3rd one I tried and it works great! https://autotecpro.com/product/chevrolet-silverado-gmc-sierra-14-4-ips-qhd-2k-touch-screen-navigation-infotainment-system-android-11-gps-bt-wifi-carplay-onstar-4g-lte/?v=e4b09f3f8402
  19. I went with the Superchips Flashpaq F5 from Holley. A discussion regarding it is here:
  20. WAMS ( @GTPprix ) is where I go for all of my K2 Upgrades regarding the HMI and dash cluster. Denali cluster, upgraded HMI to navigation, probably a few others I forgot about. Always the best along with BTDiesel (I tricked 'em up a bit with all of my HMI versions). If anyone needs an extra HMI or two to be sent to WAMS for programming (without nav), let me know.
  21. Just get an anti reflecting film, might help - no tinting needed. Also, there is a dial to the left so one can adjust dash light brightness as well as the switch illumination.
  22. Have a look here (without a level, you seem to be maxed out by conventional standards - but who does that?): https://realtruck.com/blog/chevy-silverado-tire-size-guide/
  23. Check for codes, first, and clear them. Then, go through the pages on the DIC and check the boxes you'd like to have back. I always leave the "blank page" unchecked.
