  1. 4 mpg? While the Range Technology device will probably reduce your mpg's, it shouldn't be that bad. Sounds like there's another issue with your truck that is resulting in such poor mileage. I'd recommend disconnecting the device and see what your mileage is then.
  2. I'm concerned about the mpg. If it's less than my current 5.3L I don't want it...
  3. Okay, I'm going to ask a dumb question, and I readily admit to it up front. My 2020 LT has a manual mirror, but the homelink/garage door buttons are located in the headliner mounted console where the map lights are - I guess you don't have those on your 2021 LT?
  4. You're correct if there is a pigtail ready to use (usually located somewhere at the bottom of the A-pillar near the driver's left leg), but if the controller has to be wired from scratch then a charging wire would have to be added. I guess it makes sense for a truck to be prewired, versus, for example, your average sedan.
  5. As a side note, if you go with an aftermarket brake controller you will very likely need to add a charging wire so your seven-pin pigtail will charge your trailer battery. However, if you are towing a trailer that does not have a battery, then it's not needed. If it were me I'd have an RV dealership do the install, but then again I'm not very handy when it comes to these types of things.
  6. Looks great. Wish I could have used this solution on my LT. FYI, I received the HitchMate Grab Handle and it works fine. While it's advertised to work on either side of the tailgate, which I'm sure is true for some trucks, it can really only be used on the right side of my truck. The bottom anchor point fits precisely over the fixed metal housing that the tailgate's hinge fits in, and does not place pressure on the tailgate that was a concern of an earlier poster. If adjusted for use on the left side, the fit would be less than ideal, and would put pressure on the tailgate's pin that fits into the left side pin bracket, which is something I wouldn't want to do. It's solidly made, and will make a great self-defense weapon against any antagonist (grizzly, bull moose, etc.).
  7. I too am concerned about possible abrasion issues with the truck's painted surface on the side of the tailgate opening, but I think I'm going to go with bicycling handlebar tape instead of some type of liquid coating.
  8. I replied to the wrong thread, but unfortunately it appears this handle, which I like the functionality of, uses the same mounting holes that my bedrails use, so it's not an option for me.
  9. Yes, that would be a great option, but my bedrails are using some of the mounting holes that this GMC product appears to use, so I can't use it unfortunately.
  10. I'm trying to make it easier getting in and out of my truck's bed, and while the Putco bed rails provide some help, I think this HitchMate Grab Handle would be better. Plus, I like that it can double as a "retriever thingy" for items in the bed beyond my reach from the tailgate. Anybody try one of these and can offer an opinion as to how useful it in? Thanks ahead of time for your thoughts. Here's their promotional video:
  11. "Wanted to pick some of yalls brains before bringing it back to the dealer to have them dig deeper into it. Figured as you can buy a performance package from GM with cold air intake and exhaust would lead me to believe it should run fine without a tune." FYI - The GM performance intake does include a reflash as part of the installation.
  12. Are you using a WDH? Assuming you are, I'm surprised you would still have a lot of sag. I'd be interested in knowing what WDH you're using as I'm shopping around for one for a larger camper than the one I currently tow without a WDH with minimal sag (2" max at 3250 lbs GVWR/380 lbs tongue).
  13. Okay, I'll bite - what is a "bed buddy?"
  14. I buy a new pickup every sixty-five years, so I'm good until 2085 with my 2020...
  15. For what it's worth, on my 2020 LT a brief touch works for me, but pressing and holding the button does not.
  16. Not knowing the year of your truck, make, model, etc., and assuming it's under warranty, I'd take it to the dealer.
  17. Approximately 1 minute after shutting down my truck makes a short series of clicking noises and what sounds like a vacuum hose releasing air. Assuming this is the noise you are referring to, this is apparently normal, at least according to others on this forum who have discussed it before. When heard for the first time it can be a little unnerving as I've never had a vehicle "talk" to me as much as this truck does. Kinda like after being shut off for awhile, then opening a door, and then hearing what others say is the fuel pump priming - it takes a little getting use to.
  18. Mine does not make a noise as you describe, and operates very quietly. Read this article and see if it applies in your case: https://wrench.com/blog/what-is-a-blend-door-actuator-and-how-do-i-know-if-i-need-a-new-one/
  19. My 2020 LT charges my RV's battery just fine, so there is definitely something amiss with your setup. I assume when hooked up all other functions of your seven-pin work (lights, trailer brakes, trailer connected detection system)? You could check the power to the pin that's suppose to be providing the 12V power to the trailer (pin in the one o'clock position on the male plug I believe??) with a multimeter.
  20. This recall merely does the ECM update that is an integral part of the installation process for the performance intake, but some dealers failed to complete the installation properly and do the update, which is clearly stated in the installation instructions. The ECM update accounts for the repositioned MAF sensor, and helps prevent potential issues, such as what Zane encountered after a week or so after installing his (see the mod sub-forum and his post (sticky) on installation of both the performance exhaust and intake - go to the 18:44 portion of the video). Lots of people have installed cold air intakes of various makes without any kind of ECM update and apparently haven't had any issue, but GM's is designed to include the update. My truck runs fine with it, and certainly better than when it was stock. I imagine if you get a CEL and take it to the dealer, or for that matter take it to the dealer for anything, they'll know that this update hasn't been completed yet for your vehicle and will do it anyway.
  21. It's for whatever you want to use it for. I have a small notebook I place in there, or sometimes a small pack of tissues. A wad of Benjamins will also fit nice I'm told...
  22. On my truck it's only the one issue, addressed in the TSB. I'm unaware of another TSB dealing with any potential issue with the axle being off-center, but I guess there could be individual instances of that. Sufficient instances of bed alignment obviously exist, enough so that it caused GM to generate a TSB on the issue.
  23. According to the TSB, assuming I read it right, the allowable tolerance is 2.5mm. I interpret this to mean that GM believes as long as the bed is within 2.5mm of center, it's good. Mine is off by maybe 3/8" or thereabouts, so I'm not going to worry about it. I don't see anyway this could have long-term negative affects on the truck.
  24. Thanks! For those interested in the TSB, here it is. I think I'll just live with it the way it is. MC-10187389-9999.pdf
