  1. No judgement from me, but why? I don't get it. I hate noise. I don't mind the exhaust noise, but nothing more.
  2. Knowing GM, that is probably on the lower side. Id be shocked if they did it for less than 3k.
  3. That's been my issue. They keep selling trucks/cars etc using parts that they know they need for service vehicles. I get the covid issues that some can't control, but GM can control the supply of parts. Building and selling trucks if you have trucks in the shop waiting on parts, IMO, is not it. Sorry, this is more of a hot topic issue for me due to my issues with my dealer.
  4. You need to be raising hell that they pay for your rental at least. I would reach out to the executive email and get back what you have paid. At minimum.
  5. Seems like terrible design logic. IMO. It seems like it would be smarter to put a small backup battery in that's good for 10 years and will last x number of minutes to alert emergency personnel. I don't doubt you are correct, but to me it would be the equivalent of Boeing hooking up the "black box" to an external power supply. It really makes me question much of the leadership decisions at the company.
  6. How long do you plan on keeping? That seems like a lot of work/expense given the plan to trade in the future (as you referenced)
  7. I still don't understand why literally both of their competitors have options for larger tanks, but GM doesn't.
  8. There is no such thing as common sense, and the fact that you think you have it despite having zero clue about how MM works, proves you shouldn't be in this conversation. Further, tesla also monetizes stuff exactly like this so you don't have to go an aftermarket route. Also, the idiot parts changers at the dealer should have checked the hardware due to being off angle before moving to software. There was literally zero reason for them to reflash the truck. You clearly have never worked in the industry or you would know that. Any tech that isn't a complete mouthbreather would have checked the hardware given it would have been the likely cause. The software never comes into play unless there is a motor that tilts the camera. Lastly, for mm to not apply, the "aftermarket" solution would have to cause the problem he was having. It didn't. This would be like putting 35s on the truck and gm saying we have to trash those because we put crappy lifters in your motor. A doesn't equal B in any way, shape or form.
  9. OK, ego. You don't even understand the act and they have to prove the change caused the failure, they can't just void his warranty. But please, let me know how you know so much as you have clearly shown in this thread. You are just another who can't listen to reason because you are a fanatic of x company. There is a reason this company required a massive bailout in the past, and as long as crap like this happens it will happen again in the future.
  10. Some of you need to look up https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson–Moss_Warranty_Act Also, he did nothing wrong. Gm should honor this. Further, is really pathetic this is even a discussion. Customer service via some of these companies are abysmal and has been seriously second guessing buying anything else from them. How is it that as crap of a company as tesla is that they can handle software issues and fixes in a much more orderly fashion than GM? Don't get me started on what can't be fixed on these things due to a complete lack of foresight ok upper managements part. There is zero reason this should have even been an aftermarket solution. If gm had any intelligence at all working for them, they would have monetized this from the start for themselves. Further, after having my own nightmarish incident twice from two separate dealers, it seems gm dealers are some of the absolute worst in the world.
  11. Aftermarket? Did you even read what he wrote? I've considered selling mine after the adaptive cruise camera went out and it took gm over a month to provide a new one. Honestly, the dealers and gm themselves are complete garbage and I would have a hard time buying another due to my experiences. You don't make excuses, you fix it. Period. Futhermore, a "tech company" has the ability to remote in and fix a screw up like this, gm requires you visit one of their baffoonish dealers.
  12. It quit working for me about 6 months ago. I've given up on tapa. Especially after I paid for it only for them to turn around and as me to pay again years later.
  13. Is the adaptive cruise any better than gms where blue isn't available?
  14. Let us know how blue cruise is compared to the 1500 adaptive. I'm definitely curious to hear your thoughts.
  15. Are 1500's solid moneymakers? I would think they would move those just as fast. JMO.
  16. Nope, mine does the same and I haven't figured out how to keep them on either. It would be nice if some of this stuff had more thought put into it for what we pay.
  17. It keeps me on the road. I can stop and grab a bite and eat a sandwich while still paying attention. It also helps, for me, to keep my arms and shoulders from getting stiff holding them in basically one position for 8 to 10 hours. Also, until you have been through stop and go with a good adaptive cruise, you really can't understand how much it lowers your stress level dealing with idiots in traffic. I have road rage, admittedly, and it all but takes that away because I just let the vehicle do most of the work.
  18. Feel free to not buy it. I have put 25k on my truck in 8 months and another 12k on the car before that since the beginning of the year. It makes 10 hour drives less miserable. Don't want it, don't buy it. Nobody is forcing you.
  19. I would have had no issues paying it until dealing with this frustrating truck. I have no problem paying 25 a month for this, but they should really have considered legacy vehicles too. Heck, if I could get my adaptive cruise engaged, I would pay for updates now that make the braking less hesitant and better lka.
  20. That article shows so many things wrong with the management at that company. Baffling. Thanks. I saw it was an actual decision at GM in another article, but I was hoping I could "add" it. Clearly that isn't the case.
  21. HD truck, actually. I just can't believe they put it in the driver side and apperently didn't do the passenger. This was a "feature", not a bug, according to car and driver in 2019. I thought it was a qc issue when it happened and I had just noticed it. Then upon searching, this was an actual decision within gm. Baffling to me. I have tinted windows two. I just despise being blinded from other vehicles. I only need one mirror, I just can't seem to find the part # to obtain the one for the passenger side to match the driver side.
  22. So I just found out that my truck apparently doesn't have a basic function of a passenger side auto-dimming side mirror. I'm a little baffled by the stupid decisions by gm. Anyway, is this something that can be purchased for the passenger side? I haven't driven at night much since owning my truck and this week we went to the fiancées family out of town and I realized when I got blinded this was excluded. I really question how a 30k subaru has some basic features a 70k gm product doesn't. Anyway, I do want to add this if possible. Anyone know of the part to add this if possible?
  23. My adaptive cruise went out and it took GM a month to send the part. The dealer outright refused to give me a loaner. Originally GM offered a months payment, then reneged on it and would only give me 200k points. Given I drive about 3k miles a month, I was pretty pissed about putting 3k miles on my truck without a core function I paid extra for. It will be significantly harder for me to consider another GM product due to how they handled this from beginning to end. That's the long of saying, be glad they gave you a loaner.
  24. I'd be kinda surprised if it were much, if any, more.
