  1. Seemed to be working today when I had both key fobs in my pocket. Was in and out of the truck 10 to 20 times at my various stops. Then all of the sudden was loud again when I got in. Starting to wonder if there is a pattern I haven't figured out yet, like when I've unlocked the truck with the fob or used the keyless entry with the button on the door. Either way that should matter so I'll probably still have go to the dealer eventually.
  2. I myself sold a 2015 High Country Duramax recently. Got more than I paid for it almost 4 years ago and ended up getting in to a new truck. Not a high Country dmax but a 1 ton 6.6L for only 9g's more than I sold it for. Less truck kind of but not kind of too. Truck I sold I already knew I wasn't keeping forever as the head gasket went with a month left of warranty. And I noticed some leaks recently starting. It made sense for me. And now I have a new model with warranty for not much more than I sold mine for. Got a 6 year bumper to bumper warranty in the deal too. Plenty of advantage depending on your situation and needs/wants. Gota weigh your personal pros and cons right
  3. Understood. BUT, I still stand by my comment that the eco diesel has no power at all . I guess I'm just used to towing large trailers with a Duramax or HD gas rigs maybe. I barely trust passing on the highway driving an eco diesel after driving one of my trucks.
  4. Damn. I ain't got time for the dealer. But it is what it is I guess. Suppose a visit there will be in my future sooner or later then. Was hoping to wait til the first oil change(if they are still complimentary for the first few) but it's kind of annoying and the neighbor probly doesn't appreciate it at 5am every morning either.
  5. I just want to add to this topic for anyone reading it in the future. I have been a Duramax guy for a long time but recently sold my 15 LML and got in to this new 2021 6.6L gasjob. Anybody comparing a Ram ecodiesel to ANY Chev HD gas truck is in a different ball park. I've owned classic body 2006 6.0L 4 speeds which wasn't the best for pulling my 36ft cargo trailer but got the job done , I've also had a 2015 6.0L along with my 2006 LBZ diramax(that ones a keeper) and a 2015 Duramax and now 2021 6.6L. The diesels obviously are much better but can't use them to compare to the gas units. Anyway. Eco diesels are built strictly for mileage in my opinion. They are nutless and I'd rather tow with a 5.3 Chevy Halfton. So far this new 6.6L seems like it'll do much better with this 6 speed. I've heard good things first hand from people known to me and am not disappointed as of yet. Time will tell I've only got 175kms on it
  6. I have no idea on the specifics of how the system actually technically works. BUT, it is designed to work for up to 2 axles brakes and knowing how electronics like to act when they aren't working properly it would not surprise me at all that this would somehow cause the system to not work at all when your setup is hooked up. Maybe try only hooking up the one system for now. I would think st least then you will have one units brakes working for the time being until you get it figured out with another aftermarket control.
  7. Hopkins plug showed up, and just as I suspected. They work together just fine. The hopkins plug didn't fit the in bed factory location perfectly at first but a quick adjustment or bending of the one side of the 'clip' and it popped in to place. So best of both worlds without having to splice any wires and cause an extra splice for corrosion or issues by combing these two products. Haven't tested the plug to my trailer yet to make sure I didn't get a defective one. But I'm sure it'll be good to go.
  8. Damn. Mine seemed to be working. Then started it up and bam loud AF again. Then was good again next time. It seems to have a mind of its own. I always had the same key fob in my pocket each time too. I'll get this figured out eventually I guess. Otherwise I'll have to mention it when I go for my first oil change. (On a side note. Do these things still come with first 2 years oil changes for free? Otherwise I'll do it myself)
  9. No 'users' or 'profile' on my home screen but I remote started it then got in a couple mins later when I turned it on and went to drive away. It was quiet. The way I had tried to set it before. I'll have to check again next time just starting normally and see if it still stays how it was set before.
  10. Hmm maybe it's not on the LT's. I haven't noticed it anyway. I'll have to check. Thanks.
  11. I don't think I have a profile set up. Or if it's even an option on my truck? How do you even check for a profile?
  12. Hmm. Having this issue with my 2021. I'll try last post info. But didn't have this issue with the 2015 high Country. Well see how it turns out.. Hit home button, go to sound, set to what I want max start up volume to be at then shut the <- arrow at the top left and NOT the X in the top right. Then hit the sound (or speaker on screen button) then shut truck off, open Dorr so every thing shuts off. Wait a minute or so then should be good? I'll try but feel like I've done this and hopefully don't have to keep messing around.
  13. Curt harness showed up so had that installed in 5 mins or less. Had a bedliner put in before I got the truck and they went right over the plug in the bed so the hardest part was getting the plug out. Took the tail light off and then had to end up cutting around it through the bedliner just to pop it out. At least they out it on thick. Now I know. Either way. Have the loom and end zip tied to the tie down point while I wait for the hopkins plug end. Should be here hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday. Should be able to just plug in the CURT piece and snap the Hopkins piece in place and be done if all works out the way I figure it should. I'll let ya's know soon as I get it...
  14. Just curious, was there an actual issue?
  15. My 15.5' High CountryDmax as well as my 15 6.0L had brake squeals but so far so good on the 21' Dually. But I've only got 98kms so far Lmao.
  16. Well, since I haven't got an answer yet. I figured I would order it anyway. Looking at pics and some research of sorts I'm thinking they should work together. Whether I have to take something apart or not, we will see. I'll be the guinea pig and post back with results for anyone else that may run in to this question too.
  17. Soon, what your saying is... I can haul more than 4000lbs in the bed of my 2021 Dually? Right on, right on man.
  18. I just bought a 2021 with the split front bench. Only truck in my and my neighbor province on the lot. Nice truck but I like a console. It has the split bench. If anyone wants to trade for a flip up seat. Lmk
  19. I posted in what I later realized was an older thread and figured I might as well start my own. And sorry but I'm cutting and pasting on my phone so sorry if the txt size and style varies... My question is will a CURT Manufacturing 56070 (basically the 7 foot plug and play connecter that you plug in to the factory bumper plug and run the harness up to the side of the bed and normally drill a hole and mount an in bed plug) work in conjunction with a Hopkins 40975 (basically from my research so far, the plug end that will mount in place of the plug at the back of my bed on my 2021 3500HD) So basically what I'm asking is if I mount this hopkins part in the factory spot in the bed will the curt part plug in to it and I'll be good to go? I've already ordered the curt part as I've used it a couple times before. But I ordered it before I got my new truck and then saw it had this plug in the bed for what must be a factory install plug. I'll attach links to the parts I'm talking about strictly to save you research on what I'm talking about... https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0031GHBSE?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image And.... https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B001NYYREC?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image Thanks in advance for any help...
  20. You pads are almost worn that fast? I always used to say if Delco did anything right it was brake pads. Still onhe stock pads on the front of my 2006 LBZ Duramax with 275000kms and Ive towed my 36ft enclosed 5thwheel Cargo hauler more than couple times with out the trailer brakes working. That is crazy if your brakes are really wearing out already. With that low mileage I would assume they would replace them as defective.
  21. Does anyone know if this... https://www.amazon.ca/Hopkins-40975-Multi-Tow-Simple-Wiring/dp/B001NYYREC/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=41144+hopkins&qid=1622508610&sprefix=41144&sr=8-4 Would plug in to the CURT plug n play wiring kit in my previous post? Basically. Anyone know if the plugs are universal and I could just take the single plug off the curt and use the OEM style 4 pin / 7 pin on the Hopkins instead in the place of the factory plug in my bed?
  22. Where can I find a list of bottom tier gas stations. Me, I'm going to save a buck...
  23. Ok I misunderstood I suppose. Came from the The Diesel site have read countless threads on that topic all involving Diesel oils before settling on Rotella and never looking back. I may save myself the headache and countless more hours of thread spirals and find a suitable gas rotella. Or a mobile 1 and fill her up at my usual card lock location with regular as I intended initially. From my brief browsing around I see you are a vet around here Grumpy Bear. Thanks for the wisdom though. Appreciated.
  24. Just Bought a 1 ton with a 6.6L gas in it. I didn't realize this. Are you saying you are supposed to use premium with this motor you can't just run regular and go like every other gas motor in any standard truck that's been built since pretty much ever?
