  1. Nope I had 3M ceramic installed. Yes I do know about varying grades and types of film. Yes I know about the lifetime warranty and I could go back to get it redone but now that I have had Llumar I won't go back to that. My 50% windshield looks darker or equal to the 30% front windows I did. Now I plan on getting it redone probably anyways to a 15% or 20% front window. Just my experience is that 3M was not as good as I expected and did not last.
  2. Maybe I got used to the dark tint then but I hate my 3M. I feel like it was awful. I have Llumar on my windshield and it is wayyyy nicer.
  3. 3M blows massive dong do not get 3M. Go Llumar or go home. It is good at heat reduction yes but it will fade after a year and does not last.
  4. Swap intake manifolds from the 5.3 to the 6.0 to retain your drive by cable. 4L80e crossmember is sold by speedengineering, they do good work. Whipple and maggies are a bit different. I can't remember exactly the difference, one is a roots and one is a PD(?) but basically one makes power a bit differently than the other. My uncle has an old Whipple on his truck that he likes. Junk the ecu and harness. You cannot use them and won't need them. Just go to a driveshaft shop and tell them what you want. They will cut that one down for you. Don't forget to use the 6.0 fuel injectors. Some sensors on the 2005 may not work with the 2001 harness. Those are easily swappable, I believe the oil pressure sensor is one and the alternator may not work as well.
  5. Just look for Silverado lug nuts. If you have a friend at the dealership I'd buy OEM lugs because non-OEM sometimes will snap.
  6. Swapping a 5.3 is fine, not hard it has been done plenty of times. A 350 is a no go lmao
  7. Then you have actual knock lol But it is a knock sensor. Replace them and the wire harness.
  8. On a 2015 that probably will rub just because of how much negative offset you have but don't quote me on that
  9. Yeah that will be alright. Just wanted to make sure I was picking up what you were putting down
  10. And you are talking about plasti dip right? Not vinyl wrap? Those are two different things. Vinyl wrap on wheels I would not do but plastidip in that duplicolor can I would
  11. Haha all good just wanted to make sure you knew what I was trying to say
  12. Thanks for the lesson but I wasn't the one that said that lol not sure why you quoted me
  13. Post window sticker it should say the gear ratio. You can also find it in your glovebox with the RPO codes
  14. Just because you had cancer once doesn't mean you can't get it again But yes I understand what you are trying to say. Boss has the same feeling, he had covid so he thinks he is good. Just because you got sick once doesn't make you immune but it does help.
  15. You'd need to swap the camshaft as well and do a full AFM delete. You cannot just swap lifters for non AFM lifters.
  16. The five speed could bolt up but I am unsure. To swap in the 5.3 you will need a new engine harness, tune, probably some motor mounts and possibly an ecm but that I am unsure of. I would put the 4 banger back in and sell it if you are not too attached to it
  17. You'd be wasting time and money having your monster technician take on such a project. Find a different engine. Gen III to Gen IV is not feasible.
  18. Plastidip works fine on wheels and they hold up fine in the car wash. It isn't perfect but it is cheap so reapplication is not a problem.
  19. I hated that job! I know how tough that is to do so kudos to you cause that took a lot of patience on my part
  20. I thought that the flapper was a sort of valve that opens up when you step on it sort of like an electric cut out but throttle activated. Could be wrong though, that's what I thought I remember reading
  21. If you want to have an extremely good ride I would look into Atomic Fab and Performance coilovers for the front. For the rear I would do a shock relocation from him as well. Those will get you the best ride for these trucks. A lot of guys will say that the 20" wheels aren't doing you any favors either. Personally I disagree as I have 20" on my 1999 as well and I feel like they rode better than the stock 16s, although I did put some very nice tires on them. It very well could be the short wheel base as the RCSBs rode a lot different than the ECSBs or CCs of the era.
  22. When I saw the hollow bowtie I almost for a second thought we might be getting a supercharged truck because of the ZL1, wishful thinking! I prefer a black bowtie to the yellow one although on my 99 I have a Texas flag bowtie
  23. LMFAO Jeep guys really think like this
