  1. Has anyone tried the rejuvenation trick I see on the web? I watched a video for half an hour only to find they wanted $15 to let you know how to do it. Probably involves hooking the battery to a welder. There are also chargers that "pulse" the current to remove sulfation of the plates, anyone tried them?
  2. Most low $ places holding around $3.19 but 1 dropped to $3.09 , hope it's a sign of things to come. I was on Vakay last week and took a road trip up the NH mountains, prices pretty consistent $3.30- $3.50 thru out the state.. On a side note a station on the hi-way to Boston was always a dollar more than everywhere else but I noticed he had dropped his prices to the norm, out of business yesterday
  3. Yep sounds like the battery is toast, my local NAPA told me they do not make a 5 year battery any more, just a 2 year. NAPA bats are Deka which I have never had 1 last more than a year, Walmart or Interstate are my choices, Duralast, Diehard etc are made by Excide
  4. Take it to a parts store and have it scanned, not all failures turn the CEL on. you may need a scanner that records so you can see the data when it occurs. Trans codes may not turn the CEL on but are still stored
  5. Running lean causes enough excess heat to melt pistons so it could be a contributing factor. Any coolant in the oil? If it was the intake again the coolant in the radiator would be low but the reservoir may still be full and it would have overheated
  6. With all the circuit malfunction codes a wiring diagram may help you determine what these circuits have in common, a common ground or 5v reference. Get yourself a FACTORY service manual or subscribe to AlldataDIY and follow the diagnostic tree for those codes. The misfire code may be unrelated
  7. Welcome to the Forum! ALWAYS post the definitions along with the codes, There are over 18000 possible codes, no one remembers them all and most folks will skip over your post rather than look them up, myself included
  8. Code definition please, there are over 18000 possible codes, no one remembers them all and most will skip over your post rather than look them up. Welcome to the forum!
  9. remove the instrument panel and replace the 194 bulb. Welcome to the forum!
  10. The actuators can become stuck due to corrosion around the threads, try unscrewing it, if it unscrews easily that is not your problem, if you can not unscrew it try cleaning the threads before buying a new 1. I have had to disassemble the housing before to get them off they get so tight
  11. Sounds like a ground problem. but you may want ro check the underside of the underhood fuse box for corrosion issues, bad connections
  12. I do not think that is correct. The bolts are 8mm/ 5/16 probably more in the 35-40 ft lb range but I'm just guessing
  13. Sorry I do not know, I would have to look it up same as you.
  14. 2wd automatic trans about 3.5 on a lift with all the proper tools and a tranny jack, add at least 2 for 4wd, on the ground is any ones guess. Rear main failure is sometimes caused by thrust bearing wear on the crankshaft so check that first to avoid unnecessary labor cuz if thats the case you will be pulling the engine not the trans
  15. A Ford I did a while ago it was bad cab mounts, check the steering column for excess play. Did it do the same thing with the old tires?
  16. Check the distributor cap and rotor for water, carbon tracks, if thats ok see if the rotor still points straight forward with the timing marks lined up, the timing chain may have jumped
  17. read the previous posts in this thread. There is a TSB number . Give that number to your dealer and if they choose to ignore it move up the ladder until you get satisfaction
  18. chances are the aftermarket alarm has taken over the door locks . either disconnect it and return all wiring back to the way it was or take it to an installer and see if they can figure it out
  19. climate control is ALL electric in your truck, no vacuum involved. Bad ground maybe? Could be your torque converter unlocking. Codes? Not all faults turn on the CEL
  20. Low buck places went up .05 to around $3.20, some went up more. AAA says state average $3.47
  21. Bad bulb? Bad socket? correct bulb? try the bulb on the other side.
  22. Have you changed the caliper or just the hose? Can the caliper piston be compressed normally? where it is just 1 wheel acting up it would not be the master or booster but could be the abs. All the other wheels are normal temps? When it starts sticking crack the bleeder and see if it releases, if it does the problem is upstream, if it does not it's the caliper
