  1. No experience with using one of those extended warranties … but someone that actually used it would be good info. If I had a new diesel with 10 speed, may be so inclined. It also depends on cost and coverages.
  2. My steering was off a couple of notches...Dealer realigned and it spot on now. No other issues. The brakes issues is a HUGE concern. Dealer should address immediately.
  3. Terry, thanks for the PM discussion. Still have not decided. For now, I'll be towing my 25' TT to the Sierras for some trout fishing/camping. It's a big rig for solo traveling, but I already have it and it is comfy! The advantages for fishing and a TT is you can drop the TT and set up as a base camp and use truck for getting to fishing locations. Pros/Cons for camper vs TT when it comes to fishing. Ex. If I had a camper I would need to break down camper in the early AM as i drive to fishing locations....each day. Decisions, decisions.... I, too, do not like the idea of removing my MP tailgate when I use a camper. One manufacturer suggested leaving tailgate in down position.....not sure I like that idea. Sounds like the MP tailgate and the Cirrus 620 would make a great package!
  4. Finally received my letter a few weeks ago. I called dealer and no parts/repair yet available. They said another letter will follow when parts/repair is available. Never an issue with tailgate dropping randomly...but I'm in SoCal so not as much rain as other parts of the country. Plus its garaged during inclement weather. But it does get wet when I was it every couple of weeks.
  5. I use this one when I tow my boat…. https://a.co/d/bmpmmGS
  6. I am considering a used truck camper. Being as most of my travels will be in the Southwest, I am looking at both hard side and soft sided pop ups. On occasion, I may take my aluminum fishing in tow when camping. Traveling mainly alone, with passenger or two at times, but not enough to need a large camper. I would like to use the tailgate as an entry step, as I think it makes for a very nice and secure way of entering/exiting camper when on truck. That means a shorter camper is needed that will allow for tailgate to be closed when camper is installed. Truck bed interior length is 6'-9" if I recall. Do any of you use a camper and tailgate in the way I describe? If so, what camper model? Any of you research what campers will allow for tailgate to be closed? I found one that will work....it is the Cirrus 620 hard side designed for short bed trucks that will fit....but they are pricey even used! Thanks!
  7. I'll have to crawl under my truck and see if I have any issues. I wonder how common this is? BTW....how did you find the updated bulletin...seeing as they have the same number?
  8. I do not clevis tow, but that would have been a solution for new pins. 1. I was thinking OEM pins directly from B&W 3/$45 VS the copycat pins sold on Amazon 3/$22. 2. Also, I have a hitch pin lock to leave hitch attached even when not towing., but now I'm not sure of its quality. Most of these damn hitch locks (both tube and standard keys) are so easy to pick or just break off the end of the lock with a piece of pipe. I 'm just concerned about securing my $400 hitch from potential thieves, which it seems are rampant everywhere! This is a popular choice of locking hitch pin that is supposed to be of "higher quality" than most.... InfiniteRule Hitch Lock - Picked in 30 Secs! I guess, when not towing, I can place the entire hitch in my truck cab under my rear seat. But....that defeats the purpose of the "stow" feature. I'd like to know how others are handling the security of this expensive hitch?
  9. Thank you to all for your insight, comments, and pics. It helped me make a decision. I ordered and received a B&W MP hitch with 2 and 2 5/16" balls. It fits great and my inner gate drops and clears by approx. 1", when in stowed position. The two locking pins I was planning on using for the ball height adjustment are approx. 0.622" and the OEM B&W pins are 0.620". My locking pins will not fit in any of the four holes. Since both of these measurements are under 5/8" (0.625), that tells me the hitch holes are smaller than 5/8"...probably at 0.620 - 0.621". I'm going to try a few other pins I may have and see what I find. I'm not comfortable drilling out a new hitch or grinding down my locking pins. For now, the OEM pins fit, but are snug going in/out. We can call it a VERY precise fit! Did anyone of you with this hitch experience similar issues with hole sizes? The locking pins were not so much for theft of the entire B&W ball mount hitch, as ball mount is not removable if a locking hitch pin is used in receiver hitch portion. They were for preventing theft of the OEM pins, as they are simply held on by hitch pins. After much consideration, the OEM pins are preferred IMHO, as it allows for quick stow and tow positions. Worst that can happens is pins are stolen and ball mount is left hanging. Best to have 3 back up pins....... Now for back up pins..... B&W OEM pins OR Amazon Pins? Thanks!
  10. Did I miss something, but I read that only trucks through 2019...no reference about 2023 model years. Bulletin 19-NA-255
  11. The only time I use the EZ Lube on travel trailer and boat is after repacking and putting everything back together. I will squeeze a few pumps just to take up the air cavity left behind after repack, even though I push as much grease into cavity as possible, there is always an air cavity left behind. More important to do this on boat trailer, as it is dipped in water and water will fill that air cavity.
  12. Brightness is great! This is nice mod that is both practical, inexpensive, and very easy to install.
  13. I have the Du-Ha model. I like the RC matte black finish better, as it looks like a factory finish. The Du-Ha is more of a gray in color and its exterior finish looks more industrial. The Du-Ha divider are OK (made of foam), and the divider slots are nice because the divider can be replaced with plastic panels, if needed. The netting is a great add on mod! Thanks for sharing.
  14. I guess if I am unable to clear ball based on my height needed, I'll have to place in stow position to use inner tailgate. That's the whole purpose anyway. If not, and will inner gate will hit even in stowed position, any hitch would do, seeing as you will have to remove ball mounts anyway.
  15. Looking at only manual grease guns. Since the frequency of greasing is not often, I may stick with the inexpensive trigger style full size grease guns. Also going to try the $5.00 locking couplers from Amazon. I'll see how they perform.
  16. I installed a set yesterday. Easy install with OEM style plugs. Will check tonight on brightness. Added a few dabs of silicone to back of each light as the snap fit was not very tight.
  17. Checked out their grease gun....well designed....BUT....you must use their proprietary grease cartridges. That's a deal breaker for me
  18. I know that GM makes an OEM light kit for around $200. Found this on You Tube. Credit to Big Truck Big RV on YT for providing a nice video review on it. It looks like a pretty nice mod for $55! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B097DMJQ73/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3VA7P2IUOMYNT&th=1
  19. Not sure where the best place to post this, but thought I'd try here.... I have average experience with grease guns. I don’t live on a farm so no tractors. I grease for maintenance purposes, which is not much more than 1-2X per year for the below vehicles/toys. I have and use the inexpensive off the shelf grease guns and they have troubles with leaking, air pockets, etc. I purchased these because they are readily available, and for the most part, get the job done…albeit with much frustration and usually a mess! I grease my vehicles front ends, my travel trailer wheel bearings (mainly repacking), my boat trailer wheel bearings (mainly repacking) and my outboard steering tube, swivel bracket, etc. The above all use a different grease cartridge: New Truck: Considering Mobil 1 (14oz) Trailer: Red N Tacky (14oz and 16oz tubs) Boat Trailer: Lucas Marine (14oz.) Mercury Outboard: 2-4-C (3 oz. tubes With that said, it appears I need at least 4 different grease guns to avoid the mess and waster of changing grease guns for each grease application. I currently have one or two guns (as I have not needed a gun for trailers (because I do a complete repack), however a gun would be handy for in-between repacks on both trailer and boat trailers. Plus I would like to take a grease gun with me on longer trips when I take the boat or trailer. For those of you that have trucks/vehicles, boat trailer, travel trailer/5th wheels, etc., What are you doing for grease guns? One for each application? Better quality grease guns (McNaught, Lock-n-Lube, Alemite, etc) or the inexpensive off the shelf type? Which gun with hoses fittings, etc and grease are you using for greasing a 2023 GMC Sierra, 3500, 4X4? Thanks!
  20. Thanks for the pic! Wow, from the hitch pic alone, I thought it would have hit for sure. But now looking at it mounted, with inner gate dropped, the immediate angle when it leaves the hitch, is how it clears. Was it designed for the GM MP tailgate? I'm 275#, and my concern was hitting when climbing up/down with something heavy in my hands. For my boat trailer (most of my lighter towing) I believe the top of ball needs to be level with top of hitch. That ball mount may be too much drop.
  21. How does that one not hit? … it appears to stick out approx 2”-3” past end of hitch. The BW stick out past end of hitch approx 1”-2” (and is angled to reduce how much sticks out) and inner tailgate just clears
  22. That's my concern...given the heavier weights when boarding....it may bottom out and dent the tailgate. I like the the design and stow function and it allows me to use my multi-pro gate quickly and easily. I can use the lock out the inner tailgate function if overly concerned each time I have a hitch ball attached, but that defeats the purpose of having the gate and makes it much more cumbersome to use it.
  23. That’s pretty brave of your wife to trust her fingers with that test!! Were the hitch balls tucked under in the stowed position during this test of bravery?!
  24. In that position the inner tailgate would hit if lowered, correct?
  25. I am considering one these hitches but have heard differing opinions on wether or not the inner tailgate will hit the hitch when in down position and ball mounted in "stowed" position. The claims I have read were about a heavier person (285#) would cause some flex downward on the inner tailgate when entering truck bed and that is when it would hit, given the clearance is only approx. 1/2" when inner tailgate is lowered. Can anyone who has this exact hitch on a 2500/3500 with Multi-Pro tailgate share their experiences on this subject? i'd sure hate to install and then hit my inner tailgate when lowering inner tailgate and stepping into truck bed carrying something heavy (ex. Yeti ice chest full of ice and drinks; personal tool box, etc). Thanks!
