  1. Lots of good advice here. As stated, you're not going to be able to improve the MPG enough with basic mods to justify the cost of those mods. Save your money to buy more gas, haha. You can expect similar MPG to your old 6.0...but at least your new truck has 60 more HP and 2 more gears than your previous 6.0 truck...and a much better chassis. It'll drag your camper and boat wherever you choose without any trouble at all. And, you can enjoy the feeling of having one of the most reliable, low maintenance, trouble free drive trains in the HD truck market today!
  2. Can't speak for the Exo's, but I would recommend looking into the Falken AT3W as well.
  3. Looks great! Did you tint the back windows darker too?
  4. Sweet! Thanks for the reply. They look great!
  5. Looks good! Where did you get your Z71 stickers? I'm going to speak for him and say that those tails don't have covers....but that the factory tail light assemblies have been painted and cleared. Just my opinion, though...I can't say for sure.
  6. That's the biggest Yeti cooler I've ever seen! I thought it was a tool box at first!
  7. Thanks man! Yeah, it's a pretty sweet unit! It's a Jayco brand pop-up with the Baja package. It was made like that from the factory. My parents bought it brand new from a Jayco dealer in Missouri in 2005, and I bought it from them a few years ago. You can still get the Baja package on new Jaycos, but they don't have the front deck any more. There are a few other brands that make similar models. Do some searching for pop-up toy haulers; you might be surprised!
  8. That's pretty good! My older 1500's could never do that well. I was always around the 14-15 MPG mark in the past. My new truck is averaging 12-13 MPG with a mix of city and 2-lane driving.
  9. Looks great! Those new hoods are sweet!
  10. I'm sorry......but thank you!! Haha!! I don't know if I'll ever own another 1500 truck again. I've owned many 1500's over the years, but by the time I added a 2" level and 33" tires, they rode like a 2500 (and got similar MPG) anyway, haha.
  11. That's an awesome setup, snarkee!!
  12. Good eye! Yes, it's a Jayco Baja. Ours is a 2005 model. You can still add the Baja package to the current Jayco pop ups, which adds the larger tires and increased ground clearance. Unfortunately, they no longer offer the front storage deck option.
  13. Yep it's legal. As long as the first trailer is connected to the tow vehicle with a fifth wheel, and the total length doesn't exceed 60 or 65 feet (I can't remember exactly), they're good. And, backing up really isn't an option, haha. If he gets in a bind, he'll have to unhook the little trailer. When he gets to the campground, he unloads the ATV, and uses it to move the little trailer. The whole setup is pretty slick. But yes, the pop up is just fine with me too. And, I can get a little farther off the beaten path than he can.
  14. Right back at you! That's a sweet camper and a sweet new rig! I love those midnight trucks!
  15. Thanks, dude! These HD's are towing beasts!

  18. First time pulling the camper with my new truck. Wow! I'm impressed! In the past, my 1500 trucks were always at max payload (or over) when loaded up with the camper, four wheeler, and all of our gear. It wasn't any fun at all. I can't believe how easily the HD handled it. I really couldn't even tell anything was back there. The overload springs weren't even touching the leaf pack. Acceleration, braking, stability....everything about towing is greatly improved. I've always heard that you don't realize how much more truck you're getting with an HD until you put a load on them. I'm a believer! And we all like pictures... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  19. Thanks, man! I really appreciate it! I think I'm around 5600-5700 miles on my tires at the moment.
  20. Thank you! I'm very pleased with it! It's a whole lot more truck than a 1500, but you'd probably miss the quickness of your 6.2!
  21. Haha! Many thanks, man! Sorry if I'm tempting you to spend more money! They are N-Fab, 3 step, bed access steps. I'd recommend them! I'm very happy with the AT3W's, but I've only put around 5,500 miles on them. I've ran the old BFG AT's, Bridgestone Dueler Revo's, Wild Country's, Mickey Thompson's, Cooper AT3's, Toyo AT2's, etc.....and right now, these are my favorite tires. They're smooth & quiet on the highway, but still look fairly aggressive. And, they do great in the rain & snow. That being said, those 325's will put a lot more rubber on the road, and I never drive in sand...so I may not be the best person to ask for advice, haha.
  22. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the progress!
  23. Very nice rig! Gotta love the Falken AT3W's!
  24. Close, they are Falken AT3W's. Thank you very much! They are KMC XD798 Addicts, 17x9 with +18mm offset. That looks great!!
