  1. I just went to order an updated torque converter (p/n 24285996) and was told the new part number is 24290214. I've Google searched for that updated part number and can't find anything. Anyone have that updated torque converter installed?
  2. I wanted rake from the start because I tow and put heavy stuff in the bed. Having the front end higher than the back even when loaded is a pet peeve of mine. Hope this picture gives you more of an idea of the rake it has now. I forgot to take before measurements, but after I'm 3" higher in the back.
  3. Here is my truck with 5100's on the third setting (one down from the top) and 1" rear lift blocks (2.25" total) with 285/55r20 tires (just over 32" tall.). I think it gave me the perfect stance. When I hook up the ATV trailer or snowmobile trailer I'll see if it squats past level. If that's the case I may swap out the rear blocks for add a leafs or install hellwig helper springs. The ride from the shocks is so much better. Much firmer and controlled.
  4. Last oil change I just started running 0w30. I tried 0w40 and while the oil analysis showed a very happy engine, fuel economy definitely dropped and you could notice the truck feeling more sluggish on cold mornings. The 6.2 in the vettes have always called for 0w30 or 5w30 and those motors are built the same. I'm glad to see GM smarten up!
  5. I did this the first winter I had the truck, but I found out it still turns itself on when wheel speed exceeds roughly 30 mph. That wheel speed is quite easy to achieve when having fun and when it engages mid slide/drift it puckers you up real quick. What I also found out is if you unplug a wheel speed sensor the system faults and turns itself off for good. To make this easy to do, I cut into the wiring harness and wired a switch into the dash. I call it my "fun button", when I hit the switch, the dash lights up, the door chime comes on, but then I can drift to my hearts content with zero intervention. Simply flick the switch back and everything goes back to normal! Just don't re-engage it while braking because it momentarily activates ABS and you lose braking for a split second haha
  6. I just installed the 5100's on the 3rd setting (one down from the top) and readylift 2.25" (1"lift) rear blocks. I was too excited to get before measurements but the after are below. FL: 37-3/16 FR: 37-1/4 RL: 40-5/16 RR: 40-1/4 Just the 70 miles drive after was night and difference, the ride is much firmed and more controlled without being harsh. Before the front end was soft and pogo'd while the rear was stiff and harsh. I can't believe I waited this long. I have an alignment scheduled in a couple days to give the suspension time to settle.

  8. My warranty is gone because of the supercharger so I had to pay for the service but I have the flush and new fluid done. What a difference the fluid makes it even shift smoother in doesn't hang or jerk as bad. Who'da thought fluid would be the problem
  9. I have it with the dual split exhaust. It does for, but that drivers side is tight! I had to modify the mounting bracket for that side. My build thread should have how I did it.
  10. Mine at around 10,000 miles started to shutter. It happens when the torque converter locks/unlocks constantly during light throttle cruising. Now at roughly 14,000 miles it really likes to lunge forward when comming to a stop. Since I'm supercharged I have about a 0.001% chance they will warranty it. I'm still gonna try to bring it in and see how the dealership handles it. Worst case I lose warranty and I need to buy a trans/Tc and install it myself. I've done them on previous trucks, let's hope this one doesn't require special tools.
  11. Here's another one, I never would have guessed this color goes so well with black, but I love it!
  12. In my particular case it seams to have helped. I went through several OEM tires/wheels and nothing changed. I now have 11,000 miles, 4, 000 with aftermarket wheels/tires and the vibration is much better. Still there in the morning for a couple minutes, but it smooths out for the most part. I get ocasional intermittent vibrations still, but not enough to bother me.
  13. Because I installed it with the borla exhaust the middle gave the most clearance so that's all I run it in. I didn't notice a ride quality difference, but I'd say the truck handles very neutral now and can oversteer with a jab of throttle. If you go into a corner hot, the truck won't plow, but lose grip at both front and rear together. With stabilitrak disabled, you can wack the throttle mid corner and actually drift through the rest without fear of the front end giving out.
  14. I have the hellwig rear on the middle hole and makes a huge difference. Much flatter in the turns.
  15. I had much better times with launching in 4x4 and immediately shifting into 2x4 before the 1-2 shift.
  16. You shoulda left it like that with some huge drag slicks on back lol
  17. Proof I do use it as a truck, did some mulching during the good weather today.
  18. It still might, but I dunno. I'm still on the first iteration tune with Justin. It will be several back and fourths so it may be better. Right now he's working on tuning the blower, I'll focusbon the transmission after the engine is set.
  19. Some is a preference, for instance during aggressive throttle it used to shift so smooth you didnt feel it, now it hits on each shift. Normal driving is still smooth. On some of the shifts it would have an odd delay like it was slipping, now each shift is purposeful. It does downshift with less throttle now. Things that still anoy me are when it goes through the gears on steady throttle it doesn't shift at the same rpm, like 1-2 @ 4500, 2-3@ 4400, then 3-4. @ 3800, etc. It feels like it shortshifts sometimes. Also it still clunks on decel, which anoys me.
  20. After my Blackbear tune I like it a lot more now. It's still not perfect, but a lot better for sure
  21. No I don't, I could get my cell phone to get good close-ups
  22. Just for info, the truck had a elite E2 can on it the day I drove it back from the dealership. Here is 10,000 miles with that can.
