  1. Did GMCustomerService help with this issue? I have had the same issue with my Silverado since it was new with no help from the dealer. I am using CarPlay and maybe 75% of the time it will connect the first time that day, but after that maybe 10%. I haven’t tried the factory reset. Tried different cables and phones with no luck.
  2. Can’t really tell from the picture, but it looks like the tailgate is going to need paint to go back right. I had something similar happen to my 12. The tailgate opened on a shopping cart. Tried PDR but a stiffener plate was behind the dent when the took the back off the tailgate to get behind the dent. Might be worth a look to see what is inside the tailgate. As far as the Camaro, if it didn’t crease it there is a chance. Normally PDR is used on door dings.
  3. I have a ‘20 which is wired CarPlay. I have had issues since new with connecting. If I am lucky 90% of the time it will connect first thing of the morning. But if I make a stop 10 minutes later it will not reconnect. Big bummer if you are starting on a long trip. I did notice last winter when leaving work and it was cold during the day, CarPlay would connect 80-90% of the time. As soon as it started to warm in the spring, that dropped to about 10%. I am starting to believe it is a USB hub issue that doesn’t connect well when it heats up. I have been to the dealership with it 3 times, 2 of which they told me there was no issue or it was my “cheap” (Apple brand) cables. When I opened a new Apple cable and showed them it wouldn’t work, they called GM tech support but never got a resolution to this issue. I have come to an “if it works fine, if not, fine” conclusion. I just remember that my first new truck (‘80 K10 Silverado) didn’t have that issue, but I didn’t have a cell phone either.
  4. I went with Rough Country on my Trail Boss LT.
  5. Is your hitch still in the receiver? I know on both my 09 and 12 it would see it and think there was something behind me. My 20 doesn’t but it may be in respect to the location of the sensors and the size of the hitch.
  6. It’s only for ‘21. My dealer said GM wouldn’t let them install V155 so they installed another that didn’t work. About a week later they contacted me wanting to install TSB 21-NA-145. I haven’t been back as they are 500 miles round trip (near our beach house) and the local dealer wants to charge to install. if you get 145 installed and it works, let me know.
  7. V155 was supposed to correct Apple CarPlay issues. I have a ‘20 that CarPlay hasn’t been reliable since new. Chevy will not install the update for me so CarPlay is hit or miss for me.
  8. At least yours is in hidden places. I have a spot on the drivers door above the mirror without paint. Don’t worry. GM knows about it. About 2 weeks after I got my truck I got an email from the VP of Quality Control asking about several issues. Poor paint was one, so they know. Bad thing is they don’t do anything about it. Also asked about phone connection issues, CarPlay and Bluetooth. I have those issues as well and they haven’t been able to fix. Nor do they seem to care. I have driven nothing but GM trucks since the 70s. Think this one will be the last.
  9. While I don’t think I have had an issue with mine not coming on, they do come on later than I would like. Both my 09 and 12 came on what I thought was early, but the 20 seems real late. I may have had your issue as I have turned them on myself a time or two. What is so strange is they come on in my garage before I get halfway in. I agree there are way to many software issues going on.
  10. V155 is supposed to solve a lot of issues.
  11. I semi have the same issue. Sometimes CarPlay will connect, other times not. When it doesn’t most of the time Bluetooth will not either. I haven’t had any luck with the dealer, but there are a couple of service bulletins for software upgrades related to Bluetooth and CarPlay. Maybe that might help.
  12. Did the dealer do the V155 under warranty? I have a 20 that will not connect consistently to CarPlay or Bluetooth. I know V155 is supposed to be for 21s but I asked about the update and was told it would be $145. I contacted GM and they confirmed. Another dealer tried another update that didn’t make any changes and has since told me about TSB 21-NA-145. Anyone know anything about that one?
  13. Software update V155 is supposed to fix over 100 known infotainment issues. It is only available at the dealer and supposedly only works on 2021 models. By the way, GM wants to charge you $140 for this “fix”. Even though it is under warranty.
  14. No. He is saying it will display on the infotainment screen (radio). Only factory nav or OnStar so between the gauges.
  15. Ordered some 63E’s from Amazon before I did Rock Auto. When the arrived the were 63’s not 63E. Plus they were in open cartons with Chinese writing on them. Boxed them up and sent them back.
  16. Bought 6 from Rock Auto about a month ago after I couldn’t get them from Auto Zone.
  17. Did this correct the problem and does it connect most/all of the time? I plan on having the software updated and argue about the cost. I will see what happens.
  18. I am not asking them to give me the update that will come out in 2055 for the iPhone 27.5 that will allow me to talk to my great grand kids on Mars for free, all I want is for my phone to connect like they told me it would when they sold it to me. GM knew there were issues or they would have never contacted me asking if I had issues with connecting. Then 4 months later issue a bug fix that “fixes” the issue. I understand that electronics can be hit or miss sometimes, I have to unplug the cable box and let it reset occasionally, but I would be mad if I had to do that 50% of the time I turned the TV on.
  19. I purchased my truck December 2020. I had been looking forward to having Apple CarPlay. We have it in a Jeep Wrangler and an Audi S5. On my drive home everything worked fine. After that I noticed it was hit and miss with connecting. 95% of the time it would work first thing of the morning. After that it was about 40%. I tried several cables that worked in the other vehicles plus even got a new Apple cable. Never consistently worked. I kept trying different connection methods, before starting, after starting, Bluetooth disconnected, etc. Saw the post on the software update V155 that is supposed to fix this and other issues so I went to the dealer to find out about it. While I was there the tech had an emergency and had to leave. Only one electronic tech. I was told to call back and make an appointment as he would be out 2 weeks. I let a little time pass and called back today to set up an appointment. I was told that GM now charges $145 for updates when you bring your vehicle in. I contacted GM and was told that is correct. So now I have to pay to get them to correct an issue they knew about on a truck that is less than 5 months old. GM knew this was an issue as less than 2 weeks after I purchased I got an email from GM Quality Control asking if I were having any issues with CarPlay and Bluetooth. Just wanted to make you aware about changes to the warranty program.
  20. I don’t have vented seats but you may want to try interior detailing putty (goop). It does a good job getting the crud out of my cup holders.
  21. On my 2009 and 2012 5.3 I used K&N filters with the 1” nut because I had a hard time getting anything on the filter as there wasn’t much room. On my 20 I have gone back to the AC Delco filter and use a cup wrench. I do have something similar to the 3 jaw for a backup. I have in the past driven a screwdriver into the filter and twisted it off, but you better hope it comes off or you are towing it to someone that can.
  22. I installed the Husky version. Rough Country has one but they were on back order when I checked. Like that I can wipe the plastic down. The fiber ones aren’t as easy to clean. At least for me. I am sure you will get different opinions. looks better with something covering the wheel well.
  23. Costco runs Mobil 1 on sale here for $27 for a case of 6. Sale hits about every 2 months.
  24. My kids are old enough to let themselves out (they are adults). But I did lock my son-in-law in with the child lock. I have the message turned off as I have no small kids to forget.
  25. Grumpy, at least my guess was right on. Yours not so much. If you were observant, you would have read what I said, not what you wanted to hear. I never said I would buy with add ons. I have notes in this string that my last 3 trucks were purchased 125+ miles from home to avoid that. I also said I ordered a 1980 K10 in 1979. That was before many on this board were born. Oh, and about the “gray”, I have a head full of it. For the past 20+ years. People can ask whatever they want and people can pay whatever they want. It is up to both. Oh, and some with gray don’t worry what it cost if they want to buy it.
