  1. Are you an alien, sweating acid? Just kidding. I've never seen something like that. Are you handling batteries or such and grabbed the fob with your work gloves on? If I was GM I would questioning a replacement by warranty too. so long j-ten-ner
  2. I don't think that the final ratio will be sooo much different form what it is now. To add more gears is to fill the gaps between the gears. To keep the engine at a (close to) constant rpm. Especially under load is the most fuel efficient rpm around the max torque curve. so long j-ten-ner
  3. Take the wet shoes off and try again. so long j-ten-ner
  4. Most of the half ton trucks are used as grocery getters or parked in front of the night club. That's where Ford sees the chance to sell the F150 with a moped engine. The majority of us still want V8 engines. But there is only so much one can do to keep the fuel economy in check w/o compromising the performance. AFM, direct injection, electronic ignition system you name it. So it is necessary to look elsewhere along the drive line. The converter clutch already exists. Next in line are the gears. On top it'll help to have a good fuel economy but also better towing capacity because the engine is running more and more close to the best performance parameters. And on the second thought...it might be not a bad idea not to waste time to "fix" the six-speed. But only if they do it right this time with the eight-speed. so long j-ten-ner
  5. Moving out... ..and get a nice welcome by my neighbors at my new place. so long j-ten-ner
  6. I like the way they do it now. Real comparable ratings. And I like that the loss of the towing capacity is not sooo much for the GM trucks. so long j-ten-ner
  7. That's interesting. How come? so long j-ten-ner
  8. Geeez... so long j-ten-ner
  9. Just curious...did you get a new hair cut? so long j-ten-ner
  10. Second oil change @ 12500 km. No problems so far. Only thing is that the coating on the frame peels in some small areas. I will have the dealer to look at it when I have more time. so long j-ten-ner
  11. The poll is about GMT900 trucks. Still sorry to hear that your engine uses so much oil though. so long j-ten-ner
  12. Do you know that for a fact? Where can I find information? Thanks. so long j-ten-ner
  13. Thanks. so long j-ten-ner
  14. I'm not sure if I understand correctly. You wanna replace the factory cord with the thermostat by another cord with a thermostat? Since English is not my native language I have sometimes trouble finding the "connections"... . so long j-ten-ner
  15. I quoted you because I want the GM Costumer Service to read your sentence again. so long j-ten-ner
  16. Back when I had my '07 Sierra I was thinking the same. I thought a fluid change can fix it. It was better though. For sure. But another 15000km down the road I spend 3.5 grands (before taxes!) for a complete rebuilt. And one thing is for sure. You don't wanna hear someone say: "If you had brought the truck in earlier we might would have been able to fix it with a change of some clutches or bushings..." so long j-ten-ner
  17. Play a little with your DIC and reset "exit lighting" to "default". Maybe it helps. so long j-ten-ner
  18. I would recommend to do the math with the calculator and not to trust the DIC too much. The DIC is a good reference and actually close enough but not soooo correct. As for the V6 or V8...I drive a V8 just because I love the sound of the engine and the power even though I don't need it. And because I'm German....lol.....we have only 4-bangers back there..... so long j-ten-ner
  19. Thanks guys. so long j-ten-ner
  20. Just a quick question... ...when I washed my truck today I noticed that the two outside mirrors are different. The passenger side mirror is just "plain" glass and on the driver side mirror there is a rim (for the lack of words) around the glass. Is it related to the "automatic dimming"-thing or what is the reason? so long j-ten-ner
  21. Put on seat covers and washed the truck. so long j-ten-ner
  22. Sorry I can't even tell. I had it done at the dealership. And I'm talking about 2000km not miles. I still believe in getting rid of the "break in" residues. Even if they say that it is not necessary anymore. so long j-ten-ner
  23. 2000 clicks... -engine oil change, -trans fluid change, -rear diff oil change and got rain deflectors installed. Just for the peace of mind. so long j-ten-ner
